All these underwhelmed people - here, and over on the local sites... I hear the lot of you.

I agree. It was a complete and utter let-down. And until someone actually produces a smart-watch made from unicorn tears, and powered by seahorse hair, they can all go get stuffed.

I waited months. MONTHS I tell you, for the next big thing. And what do I get? Stupid bigger phones that do not fit my exact requirements, and a stupid iWatch that doesn't have a built-in compass. And now I have to take my phone with me -- all the friggin' time.

I mean really. REALLY!

Android for the win. Apple is dead. Nothing to see here folks. Move along.

So there is NO GPS on the watch? I have to wear this watch AND carry my iPhone when I go running? god damn...

Take a Forerunner any day over this combination any day.

Has nobody at Apple ever ran with a strapped to a bicep? It's horribly uncomfortable due to the bulk and weight.

If one wears it on the right wrist (as most left-handed people do) the multi-functional crown is on the right side of the watch.
It's probably better for you to wait and see how the watch works, rather than making assumptions.

So a $400 off contract device in late 2014 with 1 lousy gig of ram?

It might not have a "lousy" 1GB. Perhaps Apple used a "tremendous" 1GB.

If only it was round that watch!

I mean seriously, I went to moto360 site and checked if it's working with ios.

There is no way I am buying version 1 of this product.

It's doing too many things and it's not looking that good. Sorry dear Apple, go back to design table..

They would have you think it doesn't even need any ram. It's "optimized" magic Apple pixie dust after all.

So I need a big clunky thing on my wrist to tell me what the thing in my pocket is saying.

Great for gadget guys and fan boys I guess. Should appeal to the calculator on your wrist crowd.

Big yawn.

Don't know any pulse tracking watch that's waterproof. Is there any? As a swimmer I searched for it for a while, couldn't find any.

You can buy a watch that comes with a heart rate monitor. Just use it when you swim. It doesn't do the heart rate while it is submerged but it works perfect as soon as you get out of the water. Pretty much as soon as I get out of the water I press a single button to signify transition and take a quick look at my heart rate. Then I judge from there how much I can push myself on the bike if my heart rate is good coming out of the water.

Like I can use the Forerunner 310XT that comes with a heart rate monitor to use in the water. I just feel since Apple kept talking about how much they focused on health and fitness with this, and even have a "Sport Edition," then it'd be perfect for it. Just felt the sport edition would had been perfect for it and would had been a major step for Apple in supporting fitness.

Wow, just looking at this thread, it seems like it's running about 10 to 1. Most folks seem underwhelmed/disappointed.

No talk about the iPhone. Just another phone with a bigger screen?

Looks like I'll definitely be getting the flagship iPhone Plus... I'm eligible for an upgrade at the end of next month. Cant's wait after two years of my Phone 5's 4" screen...
As for the Apple Watch, well, I don't think I'm enthusiastic enough to spend that kind of money on something that I can do mostly with my iPhone!

Am I the only left-handed person here who noticed that the :apple:Watch seems to come in a right-handed version?

Everyone was wearing it on their left wrist. Lefties wear watches on the right wrist hence the crown is awkwardly placed. Grrrr.

Switchable display orientation seems like a no-brainer to me. I'm sure that's covered.

After the gazillion posts here I'll throw my "two cents" in:

Don't like the watch:
1. Too thick
2. Not waterproof
3. Square
4. Don't really need it nor want it (must be getting old):p

Don't like the phone:
1. Prefer the iPhone 4/4s/Xperia glass design, although size increase is welcome.
2. iOS. Cannot stand it since 7. Still waiting to actually see iOS 8, but so far, same same

That said, they both look like quality, expensive, meticulous products, as is typical of Apple hardware. The iPhone's seamlessness is impressive and appealing. I'm sure the iWatch will be smoother in operation and use than its competitors.

To those underwhelmed/disappointed: The revolution is over folks. Steve's dead. Welcome to the new Apple.

To those mourning the death of the 4" phone: Now you know what it feels like when Apple kills a product you love. I miss non-sealed, upgradeable computers, particularly the 17" MBP and the Mac Pro that wasn't a cable clutter nightmare.

Does anyone not realize the Apple Watch is the same thickness (or even less thin) that most regular watches? Everything from a G-Shock to a Kenneth Cole to an Emporio Armani are all the same thickness.

Agreed. Love the AppleWatch. Can't believe the negativity on here. Of course, when the iPhone, iPad, etc., came out stock went down and we heard the same thing, so par for the course I guess. These things will sell like hotcakes!

Yup - exactly.

I'm seriously considering shutting down my forum account here....if it weren't for the Fantasy Football league, I would now. Not a lot of constructive conversation on these threads.

I'm sure that Apple and everyone on this site will truly miss you. Good-by.

Enjoy your moto360.

Maybe for grandparents and those that wear mom jeans..

So Apple shouldn't offer products that may be useable by grandparents and those that wear moms jeans? What's your problem?

Rectangular watches are so 80's. Just hate them and I think everybody hates them.

So, you think there were no round watches in the 80s? I owned a round watch in the 80s. And in the 70s as a little kid.

I dunno... I have owned a good many watches, round and rectangular, and I just prefer a rectangle. Never mind the logic that the icons for iOS do indeed lay out nicer in a rectangular area.

Yeah... crazy Apple targeting people who can afford their products.

wouldn't have minded seeing some sort of alert system based around its BlueToothLE - a jingle jangle on the wrist anytime you're out of range of iphone ipad or macbook would have been neat

You are right - maybe they will do something with it and improve it to the point where it will be worth it. I think the band idea was worthwhile (but that's not what they made).

And why copy the form factor of a watch? Think Different. There is no need, the old watch design was for analog gears and springs etc. The full wrist band that is a screen that went halfway around it - with automated apps that told me something I needed to know - that might have made me a believer.

But that isn't what Apple did.

Well, in truth, all I wanted was a band to replace all the sports bands I've tried and hated.

I will give this Apple Watch a go, though. I think they can go somewhere with this idea and the more people who adopt it and try it, the more likely this continues. Until someone else can show me a phenomenal tracking device, I might as well try out Apple Watch.

I didn't care for the nighttime charging thing. I want to sleep in one, hence me wanting a nice band.

Maybe they'll head that way in time, who knows?

The Nano sprung from the iPod and it used to have no screen at all. Anything is possible. :)

This is how it always goes. And every launch day, people are fighting for product. ;)
