What a disaster

iPhone 6 turned out to be a mediocrity as the rumours indicated. Apple Watch leaves me cold.

Time to start looking at alternatives for first time in 6 years. Samsung I despise, but maybe the Xperia Z3? Ticks all the boxes that Apple missed.

:apple:watch is nice but I'll wait for version 2. It's a lot going on with it & that battery won't stand a chance

What is the point of the fitness features if you still need to carry your iphone around with you?

Steve Jobs was overrated, but he must be turning in his grave. Apple is no longer relevant........unless you're a grandma.

If Steve Jobs were still alive, you still use 4" screen iPhone in the next 10 years. But he's dead. So please, S_T_F_U.

Yep, U2 must have been behind this design for Apple Watch it is a shame Apple is becoming for middle age people.

After seeing the new iPhone 6 feature list, this is the first time since the very first iPhone was released that I most likely will NOT be staying with Apple iPhone.

As much as I hate to say it, and as much as I've enjoyed my iTunes library of music, there is no reason to continue staying with Apple when other manufacturers like Samsung are releasing smart phones that have already matured their feature set that Apple is just now releasing.

Give me an iPhone that somehow allows me to dock it into a monitor, keyboard, and mouse so that I can use it like a computer.
Let me choose to change the icons to circles instead of the squares.
Make the iPhone 'learn' what apps I use the most and move them to the first screen.
Let me resize my icons on my phone so that I can easily find them.
Give me a childproof feature that locks down everything and prevents any online purchases so that I can let my kid play with my iPhone.
Get rid of the headphone jack and give me bluetooth stereo headphones WITH the iPhone purchase.
Allow the ENTIRE screen to rotate to current point of view, regardless of where I am at in the phone.

that is all... too little, too late.

I'm trying to remember the last Apple keynote where people here weren't "meh" or "ugly". I don't think there's been one. :)

Why would I use a watch to look up movies, view photos, and pan around maps on a tiny cramped screen when I can just pull the phone out of my pocket?

cos you'll need to keep use of your phone to a minimum, so its got enough battery life to make proper use of your watch :D

sratches head at idea of having to buy a phone with a bigger screen in order to use the weeney screen on a watch.

Waits for the new screenless iphone nano: "the tiny perfect complement to your iwatch that fits in the corner of your pocket"

I still don't get these Smartwatches. They're trying to sell a product that their other products made obsolete in 2007.

Smartwatches are nothing but a careless lunge into a fringe market - which tells me that the Smartphone market has finally plateaued to the point where they have nothing really new to sell for it. So, now they're trying to use their same phone tech elsehwere on your body.

Google tried it with glasses. Apple and Samsung are trying with your wrists.

It's pointless.

People like an all-in-one device, which is their PHONE. The Smart Watch does not allow that level of functionality on it's own.

Markets change. There was a time when phones were in a race to see who could make them the smallest. Now we're all running to the other end of the spectrum.

A lot of people still wear watches. I personally still wear them. For me I'd rather just look at my wrist than dig my phone out of my pocket. For many the watch is nothing more than a fashion accessory,. Regardless of why someone wears a watch, the fact is that people do.....many of them. That's the market Apple is going for. Something in their market research says that there is enough of a user base out there to warrant the R&D to get us to the point where we are today. The next couple of years will bear out if they are right or not. I'm personally skeptical, but then again there was a time when people were equally skeptical about the necessity of smartphones and tablet computers.

How could you think of using maps on such a puny screen? Aside from voice over navigation, nothing in the way of screen real estate makes this even remotely user friendly.

Why, hello there, new member.

You should buy that Xperia. Absolutely.

Is it waterproof? Have a camera? {gear does}

Sad to say, this reminds me of the smooth pebble design of the galaxy s3.

That said, I love the back. I also like the gold. But I'm old. Worried for apple.

one question.

If you have to carry your iPhone with apple watch every time WHY THE HELL to use the tiny screen and not the iPhone...?

T H A T S J U S T S T U P I D !

While reading the MR live update, I skipped the watch info several times.

Nothing compelling there. Yes, interesting technology wise.

Phone in my pocket does all of what that watch will do, nothing on my wrist (don't like jewelry)

I am not feeling it. Hard sell.

Design isn't that appealing either and changing bands whoopdidoo, more things to do.

Good luck Apple.

Switzerland you can sleep calmly and relaxed.

This stream is a ********* joke, running fine in good resolution, then jumps back 30 seconds, then jumps forward. Feel like I'm having a stroke watching this.

How hard can it be to have enough streaming capacity? It's 2014! Maybe they should've bought Twitch rather than crappy Beats.

That's what everyone with a watch strapped to their wrist complains about...how hard it is to lug the thing around.

1.) Have you noticed that many people have stopped wearing their watches? 10 years ago, almost everyone in business wore one. Nowadays they're almost non-existent on people under 40.
2.) You mean those watches that you can leave on all day and not worry about recharging?
