for me, most disappointing event I have ever seen from apple.. through all those great events like iPhone intro, MacBooks, iPads, iMacs, new mac pro.. this is tragedy...

It didn't help that most of the markets are down today and I'm still surprised AAPL didn't go down like it usually does after an event like this.

It's creeping back up again. It really shot up during the iPhone 6 announcement. The biggest uncertainty now is when the :apple: Watch will be available. If it makes it in time for Christmas it should do well.

I'm trying to remember the last Apple keynote where people here weren't "meh" or "ugly". I don't think there's been one. :)

Most keynotes are people going "Meh, more of the same" or "That's just like last year". This is an entirely new product category for Apple, like the iPod, and people seem to hate it.

Of course people hated the iPod too, when it was announced, so...

Apple seems to have done it again.

Didn't invent the smart watch, just the first ones to get it right and show everyone else how it's done.

Apple Watch

Is that it? Nothing different from anyone else.

I think the watch was a dead end anyway, but this watch - totally dead end.

What an absolute let down. I came into this hoping for my next iPhone and was excited for the iWatch. Neither have impressed me. What new features are in the iPhone 6? (and why was that NFC infomercial so poor? Who swipes cards these days, who needs to show ID?)

No mention of battery life on the iWatch? Are they going to gloss over that?

I'll stick with my Pebble and iPhone 4S until next year.

After seeing the new iPhone 6 feature list, this is the first time since the very first iPhone was released that I most likely will NOT be staying with Apple iPhone.

As much as I hate to say it, and as much as I've enjoyed my iTunes library of music, there is no reason to continue staying with Apple when other manufacturers like Samsung are releasing smart phones that have already matured their feature set that Apple is just now releasing.

Give me an iPhone that somehow allows me to dock it into a monitor, keyboard, and mouse so that I can use it like a computer.
Let me choose to change the icons to circles instead of the squares.
Make the iPhone 'learn' what apps I use the most and move them to the first screen.
Let me resize my icons on my phone so that I can easily find them.
Give me a childproof feature that locks down everything and prevents any online purchases so that I can let my kid play with my iPhone.
Get rid of the headphone jack and give me bluetooth stereo headphones WITH the iPhone purchase.
Allow the ENTIRE screen to rotate to current point of view, regardless of where I am at in the phone.

that is all... too little, too late.

Sound quality over Bluetooth is bad, bad, bad. You would lose all benefit from having higher-quality music files.

iPhone 6 turned out to be a mediocrity as the rumours indicated. Apple Watch leaves me cold.

Time to start looking at alternatives for first time in 6 years. Samsung I despise, but maybe the Xperia Z3? Ticks all the boxes that Apple missed.
At the end of the day, use the device to function what you need, not look at front, back, size and sh..t. Go use Android and Windows phones to see how much you'll miss iOS and Apple product. On top of all these, customer supports and services, you can't get it anywhere like you do at Apple stores. Go to these competitors and treat yourself a s.h.t load of crappy products. I'm here to stay and hundred millions others too.

Joined just this week and called yourself "formerapplefan" and you're only now looking for alternatives? lol. Troll smarter dude.

You'll be wrong because it beats the **** out of every single smart watch out there.
i'm sorry but u lost me there...

At least on android you don't need separate watch apps. The one app you have on your phone adapts to the phone without having to have a separate app(they still need support in the main app). And it already supports run keeper, mapmyrun and runtastic. All better implementations.

Markets change. There was a time when phones were in a race to see who could make them the smallest. Now we're all running to the other end of the spectrum.

A lot of people still wear watches. I personally still wear them. For me I'd rather just look at my wrist than dig my phone out of my pocket. For many the watch is nothing more than a fashion accessory,. Regardless of why someone wears a watch, the fact is that people do.....many of them. That's the market Apple is going for. Something in their market research says that there is enough of a user base out there to warrant the R&D to get us to the point where we are today. The next couple of years will bear out if they are right or not. I'm personally skeptical, but then again there was a time when people were equally skeptical about the necessity of smartphones and tablet computers.

Yes, but this watch is butt ugly. Sure, you can change the digital face. But any watch aficionado will scoff at this. And so will others once you see this display in bright sunlight. Only the tools of the world will buy this.

The iPhone 4S is lethargic compared to the 5S, and the 6. I would upgrade in a second if I were you (or consider Android).

Samsung and Google must be breathing sighs of relief right now.

I respectfully disagree 101%. :D

Apple appears to have nailed the fashion/style/design element _and_ the “smart” functionality, including fitness/health. Plus it appears to have typically nice integration across the Apple product line.

Wait until the $800 price tag

Just waiting on the price tag ...

And there it is ... $349!

Uh, no... not true. Leaks, yes, but every iPhone launch (most) people were pretty excited about the new design. This time.. it's different. The front is nice, but those thick bands. I guess you have to see it in person to give a final judgement.

And the watch, I don't wanna comment that thing.
