I get what you are saying. But I'm not sure if it's worth switching just so we can get that few extra artists. The price point certainly doesn't help much. I know a lot of people with extensive Spotify playlist and such, I don't know if they are going to jump ship.

Having an extensive Spotify playlist should not be a reason to stay with Spotify. If a person can get all the music they want from Music that Spotify can't and pay the same as they were paying on Spotify it makes no sense to be loyal to Spotify. Not downing your point per say but a Playlist just doesn't hold any power to continue paying for something that you can't get what you need out of it.

iOS 9 will be good, but I am still looking at a new Moto G (I've had 4 Moto G, they are SUPERB) or Samsung Galaxy S4, as iPhone is really lovely, but underwhelming for the HUGE price it costs, and let's be honest about things - every "upgrade" is just another reason to buy a - supposedly - "better" iPhone, and every justification under the sun is given for shackling oneself to some INCREDIBLY ridiculously priced and data-stingy, paltry contract... and for what - a newer, shinier iPhone? No thanks. I pay £15 a month on pre-pay for TRULY unlimited 3G data from "Three" UK (or 4G if I had coverage), 300 mins and 3,000 texts.

WOW, iOS 9 Beta 1 *flies* on my iPod Touch 5th gen, WAY better than iOS 8.

TIP: The two finger sliding over the keyboard to make it a temporary trackpad ALSO works on iPhone and iPod touch (for now).

A few random thoughts:
  1. The Apple ecosystem is extremely elegant and polished. Swift will help Apple usher in a new era in computing.
  2. I like Apple Music. I think Beats1 will be successful. It is a great way to discover new music. I also think that having the ENTIRE WORLD listening to the same music at the same time with great DJs is awesome.
  3. Apple did not release :apple:TV because that would have overshadowed :apple:Music.
  4. I believe that :apple:TV should be here in a few months and it will be transformative (think of it as a home server/NAS device connected to iCloud and delivering data to any screen of any size you want. iOS, OS X and WatchOS.

Pharrell is in the house.

I'm more interested in the girl in the white skirt.

Is it just me or can Eddy Cue not say "library"? Libary?

Yes he did keep saying that. It's a pretty big pet peeve of mine.
Well to each his own but I dunno about reading notes on a Watch screen. Too small.

I read everything else on my watch screen. Messages, email, alerts, Twitter. Not sure why notes is vastly different. It would be simplified like the others. Would be nice for quickly looking at info I jot down like dimensions of things, etc.

Completely agree... but Reminders Nano really is the perfect replacement.

It's ok. It needs to be able to let me limit the reminders lists that are shown, order the lists so the ones I use most are on top, and do basic things like edits to the due date or time.

It doesn't have to be bleeding edge, but the iMac tops out at AMD Radeon R9 M295X (which is a $300 upgrade on top of the value of the M290). A fairly cheap GTX 960 humiliates the Apple top end. The 50% faster GTX 970 is still cheaper than Apple's upgrade fee. Apple is really pathetic in graphics, it's not a bleeding edge issue.
I don't keep up with the latest and greatest PF hardware anymore (used to build rigs back in the day) but my 2012 rMBP is roughly twice as fast as an XBox 360 and newer iMacs are well above that. I had fun for years playing my 360 so just having the best graphics isn't the number one issue. But I agree you should get a little more for your money. I think much of it had to do with the thermal profiles in the thin iMacs. Apple has always marked up hardware because it's about more than a simple spec sheet. But at the same time there could be more balance. They should at least offer the higher end options, exotically if they want to take gaming seriously.

I hope the new iPad multi tasking is on the 6S+ with 2gb of ram since it has enough of a screen size to make it worthwhile.

Apparently some people haven't twigged that El Capitan being inside Yosemite reflects that this OS X release will be about focus and refinement, per Mountain Lion and Snow Leopard before it, not major new features as we've had for the last two consecutive versions.
Everyone who griped about "Apple, fix teh bugs!", this is the update you asked for. The Windows 10 announcement may be splashier, but Microsoft is playing catchup and has more to prove after their not-so-little mistake and has face to save, while Apple does not.

Yeah, thinking about it more my notes end up getting scattered between a few different drawing apps and the main notes app. It's hard to keep it all together. You don't always need fancy brushes and controls to get some basic ideas down. Disappointed the Apple Watch didn't get a Notes app as it would be handy to quickly bring up my Notes on there.
I use Notes a LOT so this is a very welcome change. The Notes apps has been neglected for too long. Glad it's getting some love.

  • A smaller OS X update focused on performance and improving graphics performance which everyone wanted ☑
  • Giving Siri some much needed updates on iOS along with improving lots of core apps ☑
  • Giving the iPad a unique features that finally differentiates it from the iPhone in a meaningful way ☑
  • Making Swift open source ☑
  • Apple Pay hitting stores outside of the US including my beloved London and it's transport system ☑
  • Devs getting freedom over Watch apps ☑
  • iTunes getting a serious overhaul it seriously needed ☑
All of this and people are still disappointed? Yes we didn't get Apple TV updates which can be irritating but there's a serious amount to chew on from this conference and appreciate - even if admittedly the  Music section went on for too long.

Can't please all folks it seems.

I laughed out loud when Eddy Cue had to repeat his request to Siri because it misheard him and played the wrong song. That's the main problem with Siri. It just doesn't learn your accent to improve its accuracy over time.

I did like the additions which make it a little more like Cortana.

What?
No Dr Dre rapping about 'revolutionary' or 'groundbreaking' music?
I half expected to see Brittney Spears stumble around while lip-syncing "oops,..."

Pretty sad when the Watch iOS guy is the exciting presenter......

Jimmy Iovine was really bad. You could tell he was reading the autocue the entire time.

Has anybody else but me noticed ... next to nothing about Apple TV? Well, arguably nothing about Apple TV? :\

Nope, you're the very first one! Don't forget to claim your prize on the way out.

So, for what its worth, wise guy, I'm not talking about an independent flat panel a la Gene Munster. I'm talking about a developer kit and soft resources to drive a panel, presumably (but not assuredly) with a "set-top box" (which term now seems like an outdated misnomer in and of itself). There was a lot of blather in the blogosphere (even by so-called "analysts") claiming that a TV developer kit was coming. As much as the event was "great", it also ... wasn't. Hence the :\

And the "has any body noticed" was largely rhetorical. I was actually being productive at work yesterday, so I didn't have the time to be "first".

I still want more from Siri, but at least Apple is showing signs of life in terms of Siri development.

I think this was a fantastic realise for apple to be honest, yes a lot was catching up but it all ties in together for a better experience.

Multitasking looks fantastic on both the iPad and OSX ( although they have plagiarised windows 8 massively, so will the fan boys please shut up in future cases)

Swift being open source is massive as well.

The music looks decent, I probably won't bother leaving Spotify unless it ties better to Siri or links good with the iPad, Apple TV etc more flawlessly.

Siri API is huge.

Under the hood improvements like everyone was screaming about.

Transit on maps finally.

Power saving features and modes.

I still want to see a vastly improved Apple TV and Apple TV UI. The latest one just looks old fashioned and horrendous.

Also want to see Apple pay in Australia, we have all the infrastructure it needs!

Huge. iPhones and iPads are used across numerous Fortune 500 companies.

My OS X experience isn't at all dependant on what SAP and other enterprise users think of it. OS X is the OS for personal computers.
I've heard about grasping at straws but now thin air...

When people say enterprise base users, you and all Apple followers know it's referring to business machines, infrastructure, business backbone, not a reference toy to access your ENTERPRISE BUSINESS to do your job.

You're stuck in the 1990s if this is what you think enterprise is.
