No hardware? Okay I ranted a lot today..but I got over it. It's iPhone iPad and watch and Mac OS this year which I won't get it because I don't need it. New updated hardware would be very much needed.

Pfff... everyone can pick on Eddy Cue all they want. But he announced Single Sign-On for streaming services. He wins the day... over the entire streaming device industry, even.
That still requires you to actually, you know, SIGN ON to the app before this works. At least they announced text entry via iOS device, so that's something. That on screen keyboard was atrocious.

I think they're waiting for Kaby Lake to come out. Then get replaced by Cannon Lake. Before they downgrade the Macbook Pro to the same toy Skylake chip they put in the macbook.

Either that or they're retooling the macbook pro to use all the surplus A9 chips from the iPhone 6s' they didn't sell.
Craig said the Macs would get Apple silicon. ARM, not Intel.

This was not mentioned in the keynote:

Finally ! I guess we'll learn more about it during the Platforms State of the Union...

- Awful presenters except for Craig.
- Try-hard to be funny. Just no.
- Enough with China.

The verdict: Hire professional presenters who don't try to act like cool skateboarders while they look like the Mathletes from Mean Girls. Don't let TC speak publicly, he's just a moving shame calling iMessage stickers a revolution.
Or hire performers to do the presentation. I was disappointed that she didn't actually strut. Next year, hire Lin-Manuel Miranda. He'll get all the words right, and entertain the crowd. Plus he still appeals to Mathletes.

This place is becoming less enjoyable to frequent. Almost 2,000 posts and 99.9% are negative even though a lot of good stuff was announced today. If you hate Apple that much go somewhere else already and spare everyone else the constant negativity.

It's because we love Apple that we point out that there is something (a lot!) wrong.
You know what? It's customer feedback, theoretically one of the most important things for any company.

That is because Apple has not disappointed you enough... just wait.. it will happen.... "que Jaded emotion for next Apple Event..."

actually I have been very disappointed with the sluggishness of the watch, and have been using apple products for almost 20 years and recently have been fed up with the current OS X. You are just being ignorant. The announcements today, geared toward developers not consumers, showed a great step forward for every os they mentioned. So whatever you are disappointed about I don't know what to tell you... I am glad to see they are putting in hard work to fix all the problems with their OS's and hopefully these new releases work as seamlessly as the showed today.

i mean seriously they made a free app to teach kids how to code....how is that anything short of awesome?

What a pile of tosh, Tim you have really killed this company!! Innovation went out of the window, the simplicity gone, first time in 16 years I have not been bothered about an event. Nothing missed really.

Clean? You mean if they're yellowed? I did a retrobrite job on them a while back and they're in my basement office out of direct sunlight. They are still in perfect working condition.
OK. I guess they are not for sale.

Yes, but Apple has never had significantly dropping sales of the one device the majority of it's profits are made from and a significant drop in share price as a result, faced hostile governments (India) who will not allow them to do certain things, or had a hardware range where the MacBook is the ONLY up to date computer, by several years in the case of the MacBook Pro and Mac Pro..

If their ever was a time in Apple's history where they needed to announce new hardware at WWDC, this is it.
Good grief there is never a time in Apple's history where it didn't need to do [insert thing here] or it was doomed. Today is no different than any other day. Case in point the stock didn't tank today; it opened down about 1% (stock market in general is down today) and stayed there ever since.

It's necessarily a keynote with lots of glitz and glamour, but expending API's for things like Siri, Messages, Maps, etc; is a big step toward app development. If you didn't notice during the presentation, there was a lot of focus on providing coding access to women and youth, which is the future of development.

what an amazing lot of feature updates. The lock screen enhancements are fantastic and will save me a lot of time. The imessage updates will be used non stop by my wife and I. Everything looked great. I didnt get to see what was said about watch OS but i heard someone say there are new faces. I'm excited for this public beta.
