Thoughts:
-memo re: jeans + blue shirt received by male presenters
-demoing diversity else white guys making the present
-Eddie needs to be coached to look up from his teleprompter (monitor)
-the soles of that blonde health guy's shoes were VERY white (+his teeth)
-Craig needs some help re: handling flop sweat
-would appreciate one presenter standing still while talking
-kids programming app early lessons a direct rip-off of an app I got on my iPad1
-iMusic and iMessages demos got very confusing
-some stuff about dev APIs - let's leave the innovation to them
-I enjoyed my beer during the present, but had to go back to coding about iOS item 6.

Your point is noted, and Agreed.

That said, I am hoping they break the mold a bit this year, and host a few special events to share what they are working on. The company is larger than ever, with a huge new campus in the works, and thousands of employees. Many (maybe only some) of us are holding out that they are working on big new things.

I too hope to see some innovation come back into the light from Apple, but, I am not overly worried just yet. This isn't even close to the fragmented, lost feelings Apple had during the late 90s. I think those who hadn't experienced that, are jumping to conclusions a bit too early. It may be a bit blurred, but Apple still has focus. Especially when compared to those old times.

They are a bit all over the place though, it seems they are still finding the way the want to take without Steve Jobs at the helm.
It's about time they found the router by now! And they better have some amazing hew hardware, we all know judging by the rumours the iPhone 7 will be a bit dull and boring. So they need some very impressive new hardware in the computer line up, and a nice Watch update.

Well that was when Steve Jobs was fired was it not? And the Executive team INCLUDING those that were at Apple when Steve was there, clearly had NO clue what they were doing...

And I'm old enough to remember the old Quadro Macs and Performa Macs, I even had one!
So you know this is not the first time at Apple when their moneymaker has slowed down in sales. Even during Steve's time, iPod sales went down in 2008 before the iPhone was their primary moneymaker.

Another thing I don't like about the latest keynotes is the amount of people presenting. Steve always had no more than two additional guest speakers and of course more were introduced as his health was deteriorating. Now, we just have too many people.
The lady talking about Swift playgrounds and the couple playing with iMessage was insanely painful to watch. I hate all the jokes and playful games between the executives (Craig/Cue). A little is OK but now there is too much of it.
Get back to the basics and if there is not much to announce, make it shorter than actually fill with useless demos and jokes.

They have to have more people presenting, because people were getting angry that it was all white men presenting... if they don't shake up the high ranks with minorities and females, then they need to bring them out somehow or people will point out how old, white, and stodgy they are....

How much is that going to hurt Google if Mac Users switch 10% of their searches to Siri from Google? It would be a huge effect is my guess.

Well let's see. If the 10% of computer users who are on macs decrease their google searches by 10%...carry the 7....that's a 1% drop in searches for google.

On the other hand what about al the mac users who are going to switch now? Even ChromeOS outsold Macs last quarter. http://9to5mac.com/2016/05/19/idc-chromebook-sales-mac-q1-us-education/

Apple's equipment is by and large so antiquated that most of it would only be of interest to an archeologist.
When the ***k are we going to see updates, TIM!
Tim doesn't care, he gets paid and sell iPhones and stupid watches.

Are you seriously saying that an hour of Apple music, Swift playground, and emoji/messaging is geared toward developers?!?
iMessage apps is geared towards developers, Apple music is not, but Swift Playground is obviously geared at developers, young ones.

Down a buck eleven so far and still dropping. Generally stock price going down AFTER a major conference isn't a good sign, Snaps.

It used to be that you'd react to news with your stock actions. Now the trend is to lead the market and play the odds without waiting for the news. Buy on anticipation, sell on the news. Seriously, that's a thing. You can expect a dip after any anticipated press event now. Don't read too much into it.

There were some promising things announced, which I think are pretty interesting.. the common desktop (I've wanted this forever), photo's object identifier (why didn't they demo this???), the new iOS lock screen, using your watch to unlock your computer, siri opening up to developers. I actually though macOS/OSX had the most interesting updates.

The music app.. I won't know until I try it.. I'm not holding my breath.

But they don't seem to learn from their past mistakes....
- Have Craig Federighi do the entire/most of the presentation... he's the only one remotely interesting to watch. Eddie Cue and the rest are just awkward and have no presence on the stage.. it really feels like amateur hour -- this includes Tim.
- Apple needs to seriously consider its audience... nobody there wants to listen to Rapper's Delight... or see an app that teaches swift to kids.. It's a room packed full of nerds.. not parents or hippy dippy do-gooders.
- Tim's speeches need to be cut back.. he talks soooo slowly... and says nothing. Mostly platitudes...
- Stop the hyperbole "best ever" etc.. it's kind of getting creepy.
- If you cant fit it all within 1 to 1.5 hours.. cut cut cut! This could have easily been done in half the time...

TLDR: lost of interesting ideas... some totally not worth mentioning.... horrible presentation of said ideas...

For people expecting a Mac Pro segment, what are you smoking? The last time Apple devoted precious time to Mac Pro was 2013, because they redesigned it. The 2010 updates did not get any screen time, it was done via a press release, same as 2012 updates.

I expected them to finally kill it though.

This was definitely one of the most disappointing WWDCs. The WOW factor that used to be a given was sorely missing.

In my opinion, Apple will continue to do well on iOS and Macs but they will no longer be the dominant force of nature they once were... Google (Android) and MS(Surface Pro/Book) will continue to erode the Apple market share faster than ever...

More people will question the reason for paying "Apple tax" before they invest into the Apple ecosystem because the "It just works" magic has been slowly fading over the last few years.

Hate to see this happen but this is exactly what has been happening and it will only accelerate...

it didn't use to be like that. WWDC used to be the launching point for hardware - mac pro, MBP... at some point, even iPhones.
WWDC was never a hardware focused event. Especially not when Apple was at Macworld. Again Apple telegraphed that there would be no hardware so I wasn't expecting it. Perhaps people need to manage their expectations better.

Why was it disappointing? Because no hardware was announced? Give some specific examples?

considering that there was a lot of coverage about including SDK's on almost everything they spoke of....yes. This forum is ridiculous, so many complaints over what has been asked for over the last few years. they are finally putting in hard work on the os's instead of just pushing new hardware that is updated simply to put out a new phone or whatever.

It's because we love Apple that we point out that there is something (a lot!) wrong.
You know what? It's customer feedback, theoretically one of the most important things for any company.
I for one loved todays keynote: Home app, Watch OS 3 and Swift Playgrounds (gonna start learning Swift as a hobby now) the most.

I did not ask for any HW. I expected serious improvements for macOS and especially for the iPP. 20 minutes on messaging and 0 (ZERO) on iPP (also known as a "PC replacement")!??!

Yes, but back in those days the only software Apple had was OS X and that alone probably couldn't fill a 2 hour keynote.

I'm in shock.
I know, Orlando...
