No, they meant the 3.0 demo.

Question:

Are you addressing any of the lagginess with the new OS? We saw some of that when you loaded SMS up.

Hm, Gizmodo says "..address some of the performance issues in the current OS? It's slightly laggy, are you going to address that in 3.0?"

I'm going to find it fascinating and interesting seeing how many people who used to claim that MMS is useless, now will b*tch and moan that they can't do it on their original iPhone.

Continuing... I'll find it interesting to hear about the "former" the nay-sayers of copy and paste now will be singing it's praises.

Guess what people? IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THERE SINCE THE START.

Ironic... ain't it?

I never said anything about jailbreaking. I can buy an iPhone from Vodafone at full price and use it on Vodafone's own network (or any in the world) without signing up for any contract. If I don't use the cell network, then I don't need to pay another cent to Vodafone.

... But I fear that this argument is beginning to derail the thread so I shall say no more (plus I'm late for work)

the US is the only place (to my knowledge) that can't buy it at full price and use it on any network. i think it great that i can get unlimited browsing while never paying more than $1/day. I pay for what I use, which is nice.

MMS!!!!! That's ALL i needed to be happy.. but Spotlight.. MMS.. Copy and Paste.. Push. WOW! Finally an announcement i'm not only surprised about.. but pleasantly surprised. Usually i come away at least a bit disappointed.. this time it's all i wanted/expected and much more. Thanks Apple! :)

"These are just a few of the HUNDRED NEW FEATURES" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Summer because that's when the new phone is coming out.:D:D:D

You pay for tethering?? Must be american... :D

High-Five euro-buddy!

I always laugh at their $100 a month "Unlimited" plans, when here in Ireland, I pay $25 for the same...

And then the excitement of them about 3G. You're so cute! 'ickle Amewickans!:D

I quoted from the Engadget page, and they claimed that they were the ones who asked it, so I'm gonna believe their version. Gizmodo tried to make them sound smarter, I guess?

I bitch and moan because there is no reason for it to not do MMS. I don't care that it's not there but it's a lie to say that it can't do it.

And copy and paste...not a big deal to me but it'll be nice to have when i use it once a year.

Not till June though.. presumably to coincide with the release of the new iphone.

Great update - very happy, won't stop the whingeing, because that's what forums are for but I'm glad to see Apple are listening.

Now we wait for iPhone 3 to see what goodies that has to stop more of the moaners.

"David Chartier: Lot of time spent making sure it works well, explaining more of the things Apple has to spend a lot of time watching for. Profanity, children suitable content."

Oh yeah.. I know a lot of 6 year old kids who can afford an iPhone..
What a...

My 3 year old doesn't own an iPhone, but he certainly knows how to use mine! He can find the exact apps he's looking for. Now I'm not too big on "child-proofing" phones (or a bunch of other things) but you know if they hadn't some parent some way would be all "But.. but... but... my precious dumpling might see that I look at porn on my iPhone "

and now the rumors shall start on whether or not a new iphone is coming that supports video. because it is obvious that talking about some features will give away :apple: releasing a new phone. all ive wanted is mms and video. copy and paste is a nice addition.

There is a new wireless upstart in my area called pocket.com. their rates are better than ATT. I do not want to buy another iphone in june. any way i can use my original iphone with pocket.com service?
