I was not expecting much since I was never planning to buy an iPod in the first place.
iTunes 9 is nice.
I only hope AppleTV will be update soon. That's all folks.

'we are announcing launch of itouch with camera. BUT, we won't be able to start shipping them for another month or so due to a glitch in production."

So I think they just announced nano with camera. i expect a quiet announcement of itouch with camera once they can start shipping them.

Yup. I've already waited a year and didn't get what I wanted. Time to wait another? :confused:
 
no camera in ipod touch. that is surprising. not that i want or need one. but since the iphone has one it should be easy to put one into the touch as well. seems obvious.

no beatles either.

seems the nano is the only ipod with a significant update.

well, not bad since the prices are very competitive across all ipods.

now waiting for the tablet.:D

Are they updating the software of the iPod Touch to support the iTunes LP thingy? That would be a crying shame if they didn't.

But this just doesn't make sense. Why no camera in the Touch, why no FM radio in the Touch?
 
It appears obvious to me that the Ipod Touch has been eating into both Iphone and Nano sales. Its probably a smart biz move by apple right now to orphan the touch as much as possible. There is now reasons to by a nano over a touch, and an Iphone. In the ends, probably a good biz decision, bad for consumers though. Apple has guaranteed I will buy nothing from the (except snow leapard) over the next 6 months...

Another rather lame and boring presentation...Apple is starting to slip...but since they are money machine, they can extend their product development now and slow down the pace...

no tablet, nothing really new on touch, no apple tv...nothing out of the box..maybe next year...

Sounds entirely plausible. Just as I think something went horribly wrong with the iPhone at the last minute leading to them not making any case changes.

if you read alot of the rumors especailly as of the last two days they said they thought it would be delayed several mac rumor sites reported this.

I bet Steve did not like something about the iPod Touch video/still camera and pulled it at the last moment.

It makes no sense to have a video Nano while at the same time having a Touch without a camera....

Nano is nice. Will sell like hotcakes.

Touch is dead meat
 
Like I said no new Ipod touch, the Zune HD is going to eat the market share alive. No camera after all the hype. LOL

Yeah, but not enough to buy a new one. I am glad the Classic is getting some more space, like I expressed in my letter that was published by Macworld last year. Classic should stay forever: just keep adding larger hard drives as they become available, with little to zero R&D and marketing costs.

BTW, iTunes 9 download link takes you to download iTunes 8.

Well, a bit of a let down on the camera for the iPod Touch, but the good news is that 2nd Gen iPod touch values just dropped. Should be able to pick one up for a song now (pun intended).

What happened to the delay because of production difficulties? That's the reason there's no camera in the touch right now isn't it?
 
I'm definitely going to pick up a 16G red nano for my car. Now I don't have to drain my iphone battery on a daily basis with a long commute. :) I really don't care for the camera option, but I guess it's one of those "good to have" items. :/
 
The lack of a camera (still or video) and magnetometer on the Touch seems like a big misstep and will certainly not make developers happy. It would be nice to unify as many features as possible between the iPhone and iPod Touch, but this further fragments them. That's millions of devices that developers cannot sell certain apps for that rely on those features.
