Not to sound like a troll or every other complaining n00b, but I really was hoping for an increase in the touch capacity without still having to pay iphone prices. how is it that even 160g classics still cost over $200?
I love my classic ipod and want to upgrade with something more than my 30g but the price points are out of control for anything over a few gigs. 160g ipod should be at most $199, even that's a stretch with the pice of hard drives now.As for the touch. You can't just up the capacity and not add any other features and then price it at smartphone prices.

The built-in pedometer/fitness tracker for the nano is actually kinda cool...I'd kill to add that functionality to my iPhone, since that's usually what I run with. Still, the bigger screen and added other stuff has me considering an upgrade to my nano. Weird, though, that the yellow's now an Apple Store exclusive.

I was going along at 2MB/sec but now its downloading at 56kb/sec. That's dialup speed!

How do you ever get 2mb/sec. I never even get 1mb/sec with any download. :-(

Gar. I was waiting for this event before buying a new iPod, but the features I want are now divided between the Nano and the iPod Touch!

What makes me angrier is knowing that in true Mac cultist style, I'll probably just buy both. Damn you, Jobs!

Get a refurb 2nd gen 8gb for $149. The camera is nice, but the apps and wifi is better. Hold out on for a larger version of the touch with camera, gps, faster cpu/gpu, etc next year.

Interesting event. I don't even own an iPod (my G1 serves as my music player on the rare occasion I'm not in front of my computer) so i don't get worked up over these events at all. I thought it was interesting enough though. (iTunes is downloading at a snail's pace.)

However, the most interesting part was the lack of a camera on the Touch. Can ANYONE explain that? All I can think of is something to do with the crossover on the iPhone, but isn't the fact that it's a PHONE distinguish it enough?

Likely because it probably doesn't sell well in retail stores. Makes sense to sell it online only.

of note: 3.1 is $4.95 for iPod touch owners and includes 3.0. that is great news for those who waited on the 3.0 update - you now get both for half of what 3.0 was going for.

Mine started at 2 MB/s up until 6 MB, then it just dropped right off to 15 KB/s... ARGH!!!

On the new Nano is it an FM TRANSMITTER, or FM RECEIVER/Tuner???

Loving the updates on the nano but don't like the new shuffle so going to pick up an old one while I can.

Nano looks good but I've never been interested in them. But hey Apple here's an idea release an app store for the nano

I know i'm going to get alot of crap for this but...

a few weeks ago i decided i had to replace my ipod touch 1g. i knew about the zune hd and i knew that the ipod touch was due to be refreshed in sep. i was really amped on the idea of a zune hd (cause of oled, social, hd radio), but when i found out the ipod might get a camera (plus speakers and the app store) it was settled..3g ipod touch.

now i'm thinking of going to the zune hd again. this ipod update was disappointing to say the least, i guess i can use my 1g ipod to continue being able to get new apps.

the 16 gig zune hd is going to have the best bang for MY buck... and yes i mean my dollar i'm not trying to advertise the zune, just saying that it is the best next step for me.

ugh... i was beyond ready to give apple my money

Looks like the new processor is only in the 32 & 64 GB.

By far one of the most disappointing events ever. They should have waited for something of substance before holding an event. The Nano and iTunes could have just been released.

It is only disappointing because you bought in to every single rumor out there. If you were to have watched the coverage without knowing anything, you would think there were some cool announcements.

I am confused though. The last keynote and the one before that, and so on, were supposed to be the worst announcements ever. I guess it is par for course for post-Apple event days on here.
