Okay, I'll admit that I wrong about the iPhone not becoming available on the Verizon network.
Finally my friends and family members who have been tied to the Verizon network can finally get an iPhone!
They've been waiting for four years for this day!
And the best news of all, we won't have to hear about this rumor anymore!
Now let's pray that this forces AT&T to become competitive (free tethering) and not the opposite (Verizon adopting all of AT&T's iPhone policies).
You were a lot more than wrong. You were awfully naive, frustratingly stubborn, and annoyingly foolish. Rumors come and go, but when major news outlets and publications like CNN or WSJ begin publishing information as facts, the information is true. Although specific variables of the information, such as timing, may vary from reports (which can happen even with official announcements made by the firm), the news reported will be materially correct, especially when there is an unwaveringly strong, clear, and persistent message, no contradictory reports (from established and informed sources, not people like you), and an extremely close proximity to the event. Those outlets, unlike you, would not jeopardize their credibility based on hearsay and personal opinions. Those outlets, unlike you, actually have inside information.
Additionally, if there was not going to have been a Verizon iPhone release, Verizon and/or Apple would have denied such speculation within the last week, if not earlier, for a number of reasons, including avoiding any formal complaint filings or inquiries, lawsuits, or government investigations regarding misleading investors or manipulating stock prices, as Apple has already been of interest to the SEC in recent years for having a wildly fluctuating stock price for a firm of its size.
