As in "Buy One Get Nine."

Android's main reason for existence is to deliver AdMob ads to its users. That's why Google gives it away for free. To maximize the number of eyeballs on its ads. To Google, you are just a pair of eyeballs looking at ads. Android isn't their product. You are.

Android sales on Verizon flattened out last fall because of iPhone 4 on AT&T. Just imagine what will happen starting in February.

they don't. google charges licensing fees for most of the google apps and no manufacture will launch a phone without gmail for example.

My girlfriend has verizon when she is sending or receiving picture messages I can tell because I get sent to voicemail. When she is surfing the web I get sent to voicemail. When she does pandora I get sent to voicemail. But I noticed that when her browser bar is that verizon red to show the progress of down loading the web page is when I get sent to voicemail land. So its a hit an miss type thing because I get through to her when it's not.
and when she is banging someone else you get sent to voicemail too.

The predictions were true, people like you bitched about only being to use the phone with AT&T and bragging about how great VZ is, and now that it's out you're already trollishly complaining about verizon's "sub-par" network

Get your facts straight little angry man. I live in Europe so I have never once mentioned Verizon nor AT&T. Only now do I realise what all you Verizon whiners have been begging for....and it's pathetic!

Funny, everyone using WinMo phones on ATT 3G, said the same thing about the iPhone's truly gimped and slow EDGE radio. It was not even able to take calls while using data. Yet millions of people bought it. The same will happen here.

I see your point dude, but that wasn't the case in Europe. Our 3G networks were years ahead of the ones in the States so the iPhone 1G didn't do nearly as well as the iPhone 3G.

THIS IS A LIE

Verizon will never release iPhone, this is an evil rumor by WSJ. Apple would never let someone else announce their product.

Are any of you getting conflicting upgrade information?

I go to Verizon's site (where I have an annual upgrade available) and it says I'm not eligible til July, but the very next line says congratulations, you have an available upgrade. Then I go to Apple's site and check availability and it says flat out that yes I have an upgrade available. A quick call to customer service confirmed the upgrade eligability.

Site problems somewhere???

Not being rude, but inquiring minds obviously aren't reading anything before them. This is the CDMA version. It's a different handset so these things are specific to THIS handset. NOTHING to do with the AT&T hardware. The CDMA has different guts... while similiar, the devices are different on a hardware end concerning the antenna (different tech, different antennas, different radios inside) but everything else is the same (A4, display, software, etc.) The answers to every question you asked are littered all over ever article and the main announcement.

Why the new antena design ? how does this affect the iphone 4's performance ?

if it is an upgrade that fixes some antenna issues why isnt there some sort of support for older iphone 4's ?

is this a new iphone 4 and all new roll outs well be like this ?

what about people who bought one and have the antenna issue ?

why isnt anyone commenting the new hardware ?

is the new antenna cmda only ?

will you be able to use a verizon iphone 4 with jb and unlock on another network ?

some of the questions that have popped into my mind :p

I didn't know they announced Android devices with bladders.

Also, did you know that Android devices ALREADY work on pretty much any carrier?

No i didn't Thank you for clearing that up for me oh great Enstein.

I'm in total agreement with you there, and have pointed out in other recent posts that an EDGE only phone was a mistake in many parts of the world that had already jumped over it to 3G.

the answer to this question is very easy - how do they do it in other countries when they add a new carrier. they give them the current phone then in june they give them the new one. this will work the same way.

Actually, it is possible that AT&T will get a 60-90 exclusive on new models in the USA. That is a common standard in the industry. Sprint got the pre for 90 days before other carriers, etc. Or the HTC Thunderbolt is essential the EVO rebranded. Though you don't see as many carrier exclusives now that most devices are running the same OS-es and aren't so unique to the manufacturer like they used to be. I'm curious to see how this will play out come the next iPhone release. Got an inkling AT&T got some kind of incentive if sources are correct that AT&T had a 5 year exclusive and ended it in year 4.

man dude i registered this new account just to tell you how clever your reply was... it made me LOL so hard :D hahahah (still laughing)

Actually, with my experience on both of my motorola droids on Verizon, the data stops and the call comes through.

I've read several times that CDMA (at least the way Verizon impliments it) prioritizes calls over data.

I'm not well versed in that, but it's always worked that way for me.

You are absolutely correct.

Verizon implemented a 3GPP2 protocol called CPOP (Circuit Precedence over Packet Data), that suspends a data packet session when a voice circuit call comes in, and resumes it afterwards.

Some phones have an option to turn it off and force the calls to voicemail.

And that right there is precisely why I said kdarling could shed more light on the matter! :D:D You always know exactly what you're talking about.

Speaking of the non-exclusivity, look at the two areas encircled/underlined in red:

LOL..

All you naysayers can finally go shove it!

2011 is turning out to be a AWESOME year Haha!

Yeah, first they say it will never happen, no way.

Now it's announced, they're saying I can do this and you can't and in six months I'll buy a new iPhone that has a 8MP camera while you'll have to make due with a 5MP camera.

Just be happy for your new Verizon brothers & sisters and move on.

Buzz Kill

Major buzz kill...I've been waiting for yrs to move back to Verizon just to find out that I won't be able to talk on the phone and surf. Thanks for nothing Verizon!
