This new Mac Pro will sell like freshly cut bread ...
I guess you will not get the full power for the 5999$. You need to rather spend more that 10 grand to come close to what they showed you (6 8K displays...)

I wonder if i need to buy new hardware to have all these new fancy things working. My 2012 Mac mini will be outdated and so will my iPhone 6 ...

The new Mac Pro is functionally...almost PERFECT!!! But $6000 (over 2x more than the entry level 2013 Mac Pro) for the entry level unit means I'll never own one.:( Guess my R2D2 2013 Mac Pro is gonna have to do for as long as it lasts.

The last couple of Apple events seemed quite lacklustre, so I didn't have a lot of expectations, but watchOS improvements, iPad OS and the new Swift-based APIs were quite impressive.
Of course, Apple completely outpriced me w.r.t. the MacPro, but I guess that was kind of expected. Maybe they come up with a more affordable Mac Pro Mini next year, so I don't have to spent the equivalent of a car on a dedicated Mac system.
But all in all, I have to say this was really good.

I just can't justify $6K. The barrier to entry is too high.

Adjusted for inflation, that used to be the barrier to entry to own any Mac. But I understand that you can't justify it when cheaper computers are available. Neither can I (I'm using a Mac mini and it is plenty of computer for me). But if you were buying Macs 20 years ago, this was pretty much what you paid just to have access to word processing.

Amazing product news but $999 for the stand made the room go in total shock mode.......

What a joke it's not even included with the $5K display. $999 just for the stand is half the cost of a 2019 55" LG 4K HDR OLED TV.

I'm not sure about everyone else but I'm excited about the new features, and completely crushed I'll never get one of those new Mac Pro's, and screen :(

I can see myself buying an used mac pro when my Mac Mini gives out, hopefully more than 10 years from now.

Completely relieved that buying the display is now out of the question, mostly because of the price but also because of it's design. The design of the display looks like a "classic" Apple product which I think is cool, but I wouldn't want that thing on my desk honestly.

All in all probably the best WWDC keynote ever. Only part audience wasn’t enthusiastic about was when they announced separate pricing for the Mac Pro display and stand. SwiftUI probably got the biggest applause.

Those that don’t need the base are enthusiastic about the separation.

On the monitor they said it could do everything...

But then next up they talked about the mac and mentioned one thing the new monitor could not do... and that is Dolby Vision, which is worlds better than HDR.
