Hoooeeee, that Mac Pro is something! Can't innovate, my ass!

They just went back 15 years in time with that design, which is what most Mac Pro users have wanted from what I understand. Not very innovative but man did they do the right thing.

Edit: well, apart from the actual hardware which I honestly didn't really pay attention to.

There were aspects of this which I wasn't at all interested in... however this is the best I've seen from Apple in a keynote in a hell of a long time. I was blown away by the MacPro (can't dream of purchasing one) and thought the display presentation was top-notch (again, way out of my league). It's a sign of a good presentation when there are parts which are not relevant to one's self which nonetheless manage to hold your interest and impress.

I was most impressed (also most relevant to my personal interests) by iPad OS and Catalina. It will be interesting to see how their secondary display option compares with Duet and Luna. I already use Duet and it's great. And as for thumb drive support, if that's applicable to any file type (and not limited to photos), it's welcome news - and about time!

I would have liked to have seen true mouse and trackpad support in iPad OS (I expect that to come at a later date, perhaps even with updated mouse and trackpad hardware) - along with true support for external displays from iPad at the OS level (currently possible, but the app must build in support).

Even given that I didn't get all of my wish list for iPad checked off, what's coming takes the iPad Pro a hell of a lot closer to being a true desktop replacement.

Well played, Apple. Well played.

I would have liked to know more about the Mac Pro. Apple is headed in the right direction. However, they raised a lot of questions and delivered few answers. I have the "it's too good to be true" feeling. Still, I am optimistic.

Let's see how many people Apple can disappoint today...
Not me. I am more excited about today’s announcements than I have been in years. They announced a lot of things that will really help people do things faster and more easily. The new Mac is extremely powerful and that display is stunning. The new coding tools look great. Changes for the ipad are welcomed. As is the breaking up of itunes on Mac. Heck, they even touched Maps, Safari, and Carplay which I wasn’t expecting at all! And having had an accessibility issue in the past, the new accessibility stuff brought a tear to my eye I will admit. That will help so many people.

Definitely no disappointment here!

They should have cut the iPhone 6s as well.
Maybe they will cut off the 6s and and 7 next year.

They typically cut off one generation per year, last year was a bit different because iOS 11 was so poorly received and they didn't want to leave the 5S on it forever so it got one extra update. The 6 would be getting cut off this year anyway, and next year they'll likely cut the 6S and SE, but the 7 will probably get one more if they keep with their trend.

Small to medium sized studios yes, they will get one or two (this machine is ideal to edit video from Alexa, RED, etc)
Live TV is not done with computers like this.
If there's any amount of VFX, that's outside the scope of this Mac, and studios rely on PCs and render farms as always.

The only burden for me to use iOS 13 is...

iPhone backup is way too slow! Gosh, iPad had added more data than before, yet finished backup in a couple of hours. Same network....

I can’t see it available for the gen 1 12,9 which has more than 2GB

It says all iPad Pro models

I must say, Apple is back to form. It's the first non-Jobs presentation that seems to push Apple forward - all the other ones felt incremental. This is big. I support 100% breaking out an operating system for iPad in iPadOS, it was ridiculous to try to ram a small phone screen along the 12.9" iPad.

As to the hardware - after years of nothing on the MacPro, to the point where folks started doubting if Apple was even interested in the pro market, here at least is a release with enough power and features to pretty much shut up any critics of "underpowered, look what windows and the PC world has" - even the price is super competitive for what it delivers (well, except that ridiculous $1K for the stand - what??). Sure the price is high, but if you're a pro it really isn't - if you want to play around with pro equipment, then yeah, dropping $10K-30K on a system might be a splash of cold water. But for pros, I think there should be no complaints at this point.

One of the best keynotes in a long time.

Privacy stuff, small apps, faster boot/face id times, Mac Pro, Dark OS, iPad OS, Swift UI, easier to cross platform your apps, voice control for disabled people etc. etc.

A personal letdown that there's no bigger folders or folder sorting/options for the iPad. A folder with a few dozen apps where you can only see 9 is just a bit sad.

To have Apple just go out there and flex their muscle with an amazing Mac Pro is truly special

I was hoping that Tim would finally drop the fake woo-wow paid actors' salted in the audience. On the contrary, the employee that introduced the new display jumped on the bandwagon. As for the product launches, I was impressed with the MacPro, even though I may not be able to justify it (baseline unit w/display $11k). The 'accessibility' voice feature looks promising for my use in the targeted category. I suspect it may well require the use of the MacPro to drive the software effectively.

Overall, this is one of the better WWDC's I've seen in quite awhile.
