The box for the stand costs extra. :))

How much will they charge for a stand for the box from the stand. If you spend $1000 on a monitor stand, they should provide an option for people who want to display the box as a trophy.

1977 Apple II $1,298 -> $5,078 (2016 Dollars)

1983 Lisa $9,995 -> $23,794 (2016 Dollars)

1984 Macintosh $2,495 -> $5,693 (2016 Dollars)

1987 Macintosh II $5,500 -> $11,479 (2016 Dollars)

1991 PowerBook 100 $2,300 -> $4,004 (2016 Dollars)

So what if there are cheaper options? I think it’s great that there are cheaper and more expensive options. This computer+screen combination is for people where the iMac Pro is not enough. This is for companies where performance>price.

A $1000 stand has nothing to do with performance.

Great event apple really delivered.
The logo on the apple site is that of someone's mind being blown. The only thing that blew my mind was the ridiculous pricing of a $1000 stand.

This equipment is not meant for you.

Who is it meant for then? What can this monitor do that a top notch monitor from a competitor can't do?

A stand for $999... a stand. Please, this is ridiculous at any rate. Of course the monitor is not for me. I don't even think the Pro would be for me. My iMac does everything I need and does it well. The point is that the prices are a little out there.

But it's a good thing in the end. Wait 3 months for aftermarket monitors 1/2 the cost and with twice the features to appear on the market.

Finally, an iPad can use a thumb drive, dark mode, voice control, better multi tasking, apparently you'll be able to use a mouse with an iPad now (I saw a post on Twitter - not sure if it was reliable source, though).

Yeah and the base 2012 Mac Pro cheese grater wasn't anywhere near that in 2016 $$. $2499 in 2012. I notice you conveniently left that one out.

Adjusted for inflation, that used to be the barrier to entry to own any Mac.

2012 base Mac Pro $2499. That doesn't adjust to $5999.

Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) starts today at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, with the traditional keynote kicking things off at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time.

"Apple Arcade gaining support for game controllers — the Xbox One and PlayStation DualShock 4 controllers."

This has gotten very little attention, which surprises me. I am not a gamer myself, but I would have thought this would be a pretty big deal. Thoughts?

It’s meant for those that cant afford it.

My mind was blown multiple times.

Though, the biggest mind-blow was the sheer quantity of quality and objectively good changes. From a feature release perspective, this was the biggest WWDC I can remember in many years.

I'm not particularly happy to say it, but I don't care about anything else other than iOS and iOS devices. I bought what I plan to be my last Mac (iMac 2019) and I'm betting on it easily lasting longer than I need to transition fully to iOS and cloud computing.

With the changes I'm hearing about for iOS, Apple has successfully managed to keep me in their ecosystem (via iOS and watchOS) even if I'm probably done with MacBooks.

So for me, unless I hear something different later today (I haven't watched the Keynote, just the recaps), the Keynote will be a success for me.

Seems rather odd, about seven hours since the end of the keynote and Apple still hasn't posted the replay video of the event. All of the replay links and apps just say the following:

"Video replay of today’s event will be available shortly."

Seven hours (or more) to edit/process a video? It's currently after 10PM EDT, soon it will be the day following the keynote!

The only explanation I can think of other than pure incompetence is that they want to delay the release so that attendees feel as it their money was well spent. But, since they never have enough space available for everyone who wants to attend (they use a lottery to determine who can buy tickets) that doesn't make complete sense.

Also, having Apple's main website with a full-page splash announcing "Watch the Keynote" that then leads to what is essentially a non-functional link is kind of bad.

Did anyone catch the part about iOS 13 having enterprise support for both business and personal Apple IDs?
