I know this is a comment on an old thread, but curious if you still like your Evoluent vertical mouse, as I'm considering one.

I saw the following on their site and wondered if you've had any problems with using their software if you've been on Catalina or newer:

Thanks!
Hi there. Yes it's been a while since I looked at this thread. :)

Unfortunately I don't remember if I tried USB Overdrive, I don't seem to have it installed at work or at home. Sorry no help there.

At work I have a 2013 Mac Pro, with a used Evoluent mouse I got off eBay. The Evoluent driver stopped working after I upgraded to Catalina. But the mouse still works (movement, left/right click, scroll wheel), and I don't need other functions at the moment.

Overall, I'd say the Evoluent mice are very comfortable, but fragile. I've knocked more than one off a desk, and they don't survive. :(

At home I'm currently using the Logitech MX Master 3 (now they have the "3S" I guess), although it's pretty flat compared to the Evoluent mice, not great ergonomically. I like being able to swap between 3 devices...1 is my iMac, 2 is Windows PC, 3 is Raspberry Pi. I'm on an iMac Pro running Monterey. I use an Apple Magic Trackpad 2 with my left hand for web browsing or simple tasks.

Over the years I've also tried the Logitech MX Ergo trackball, but I didn't like it. Too much movement of the thumb.

Thanks for all that, very helpful!

I'm going to try the Logitech Lift to see how that feels. I was not crazy about that message from Evoluent saying "Apple hasn't returned our emails" about developing drivers that work with the latest OS versions.

I'm worried about knocking over any vertical mouse that I get, like you mentioned, since I know that's gonna happen when I lift my hand from the mouse to move it to the keyboard. It's going to take some getting used to.

Thank you again for letting me know about your experience, you've been a big help! Stay well.

I just got one of these. It's great for a person that has wrist pain from being on a computer all day, then going home and doing PC gaming. It feels much more natural than a regular mouse. I do hope they do a version 2 with a better quality scroll wheel like the rest of the MX line. This scroll wheel just feels sort of basic and cheap. At least compared to other MX models, which is all I use (minus gaming).
