I got mine yesterday, and it's been a bit of a mixed bag. First, it's not compatible with anything that doesn't use Bluetooth 4.0 unless you use the included dongle. Logitech calls it Bluetooth "Smart". I spent twenty minutes trying to pair the mouse with my 2011 Macbook Pro before I realized what the issue is.

Second, the button placement isn't the best. The back and forward buttons on the side are tiny and right on top of each other, and the gesture activation button isn't very easy to hit with your thumb. Still, I like it enough to keep it, even using the dongle.

The coolest thing to me is that the scroll wheel can automatically detect when it needs to offer feedback and switch to freespin mode when you need to scroll faster. I do wonder how long whatever mechanical system they use to disengage and reengage the clutch will last.

Any of you realise that it comes with a 1-year limited hardware warranty? Performance MX comes with 3-year. I wonder why they lowered it.....

Not me. I only use fingertip mice. I don't see how anybody can palm a mouse and make precision movements!

I have a Roccat Kone Pure

I got mine Friday and so far am really enjoying it. The mouse doesn't seem as sensitive as the G602 it replaced for me, but it's better in almost all other ways. The new Logitech Options software is also a much better Yosemite citizen, and doesn't run an icon constantly in my menu bar.

I also really love the 3 system selector on the bottom of the mouse, I can finally use the same mouse with my laptop as well without having to yank out dongles and such.

with the thumb scroll wheel, do you know if that can be used to go through the timeline in FCPX? That would be huge for me and might make me upgrade from the MX

Does anyone find the scrolling to randomly switch between natural and standard? I have it set for natural but every once in a while it will switch to standard.

Tried getting mine today from Best Buy. No dice.

So last month I bought the Performance MX from Best Buy for nearly the same price ($69.99). I just happened to be going through my YT channels and saw MKBHD posted a review of this 'MX Master', a device I had never heard of. It was then I realized Logitech updated what I had just purchased, and it wasn't much more money. When I found out that this one has Bluetooth 4.0 on board AND a dedicated horizontal scroll wheel, I was in. That's worth $30 more to me, as I never use the Back/Forward buttons on mine anyway, and getting the Logitech receiver out of my Mac Pro would be a nice feeling. I was on Day 29 of my 30 day return policy, so I packaged it up, made sure my local Best Buy had it in stock (website said it did), and was on my way.

Returned the Performance MX. Went to go look on the shelf, and nothing. They even took away all of the Performance MX's they had on the shelf. Went to go find an associate, who said "It looks like we have one in stock, but it's not on the shelf. So...yeah." Wouldn't look in the back for me.

Went home empty handed. Using my Magic Mouse in the meantime, which is an awful little thing.

I've noticed when my computer wakes from sleep, the mouse doesn't remember my smart shift settings. I have to go into the options menu and disable and then renabke smart shift to get it back. Drives me crazy. Hopefully it's updated soon.

For some reason the Best Buy stores don't seem to be getting this in stock. I had them order from their online stock for me in store, and it came 2 days later. It's available in their warehouses, no idea why they won't put it on store shelves.

Just got my MX Master (from BestBuy Canada) and in the hour or so I've been using it (and charging it) on my 2013 rMBP via Bluetooth it's been fantastic. I had used an MX Performance in the past and the Master feels much more natural and less bulky even though it's about the same size. It weighs less than my MX Anywhere mouse. The middle mouse wheel / button no longer has side scrolling but it's also a button (on the Anywhere it toggled the freewheel).

It feels great in my hand, the tracking is perfect and I've not yet begun to tweak the settings using the "Logitech Options" OS X app. I'll post an update in a few days if anyone's interested. Since the mouse is charging I can't tell how sleepy it's going to be, that was a real distraction with the Razor Orochi. Since the Mad Catz Smart Bluetooth (I have BT4.0) would only pair with its own dongle it went back to the store.

I've gained back a USB port too :)

Just got mine too. And, not sure how I feel about it.

The pointer doesn't "lag" per say, but there's definitely a noticeable choppiness going on as opposed to my Magic Mouse (this is connecting via Bluetooth to my 2013 Mac Pro). It's not a huge difference...if I can describe it in terms of fps, it feels as if my the Magic Mouse runs at a smooth 60 fps, while the MX Master runs at 50 or so.

The scroll wheel will take some time to get used to. Not finding the auto free-scroll mode when you engage it quickly to be that useful so far. Also, setting the scroll speed means you control the speed of both styles of scrolling, and I'm unable to find a happy medium (example, setting the scroll speed so that free scroll mode scrolls really nicely renders the click to click scroll mode too slow for my tastes...setting it higher means that pages zip down way too quickly in free scroll mode, but the click to click scrolling works well).

Bluetooth pairing was easy, however I did end up needing a USB mouse to go into Bluetooth Settings to click the Pair button...would not auto-pair for me. It's very nice to be able to free up a USB port (I was coming from the previous MX Mouse). The software seems decent enough.

Going to evaluate it for a couple of weeks and make a decision. The Magic Mouse works great, but it was made for a child's hands.

Also, Bluetooth Setup Assistant keeps launching when my computer wakes from sleep, stating that no mouse was detected. Very annoying

I was pretty impressed with the design of this mouse at first. It worked well enough on my Desktop PC with the unifying usb dongle. Using it on the 2015 13' MBP is a pita. It is choppy as hell while paired with Bluetooth. I get constant stutter and lag, even while moving slowly. Several reviewers complained about it and people took to the Logitech forums to express they had the same issue.

Did anyone fix this ? Unifying connection again is fine, Bluetooth is the problem.

I don't have that problem.

Boxing mine up and returning it to Best Buy today. I want to love it, I really do. The software is wonky (which I have no doubt will be ironed out with a few updates), pointer motion, like I've mentioned, is choppy...and I cannot get used to this scroll wheel. At certain points, there's almost a full half or 3/4 of a second delay when engaging it, I've started to notice. It feels too "mushy" and slow when scrolling in click-to-click mode, and too lose and out of control in free-scroll mode, like both modes had to be compromised to accommodate both in its design. It's quite comfortable in the hand, but that's not enough for me to love it, certainly not for $100.

The main reasons I purchased it and returned my just-purchased Wireless Performance Mouse MX were the direct Bluetooth functionality and the thumb wheel scroll. Both are hit and miss for me in these regards. The thumb wheel scroll, at least in the applications I'd benefit most from, does not scroll my timelines "smoothly", but rather "jumps" the timeline sections across, even though the thumb wheel itself rolls smoothly. I cannot find a setting to make the scrolling action more "smooth"...the Sensitivity setting in the Logitech software simply makes the timeline sections scroll by faster.

The Magic Mouse moves, scrolls, and does the gesture thing so much better, at the expensive of being small and unergonomic. I'd rather keep the uncomfortableness of it and have it work really well, versus having an extremely comfortable mouse that doesn't work as well, IMO.

Not saying it's a "bad" mouse...it's just not for me. Many people will no doubt love it.

I had high hopes for this mouse as I wanted to use it with both my Mac Pro and PC here. Indeed it does connect to all of my machines, but it has so many problems that I cannot recommend it for serious use and I will be returning mine.

First off there is no way to disable pointer acceleration, so even if you have it set to a more precise DPI, you cannot move the pointer exactly. This is probably why a lot of users are saying its choppy and indeed it does have a tendency to get away from itself.

As well it has no application specific settings at all, and that it is a big step back from the Performance MX.

So I am back to using a G400S which I can set precisely to 800DPI with no acceleration.

I'm somewhat confused with the Bluetooth Smart / Bluetooth 4.0 requirements. Is 4.0 and "Smart" the same thing?

Anybody using this mouse via bluetooth with a late 2012 iMac (27 inch)?

I've read my iMac supposedly has Bluetooth 4.0, but no mention of "Smart".

My machine is not mentioned in the "Bluetooth Smart" comptible machines over at logitechs site for the mx master mouse.
