I got the Performance MX today because it's half price now and still has almost every feature of Master MX. Working great in Windows 10 and El Capitan.

I received my mx master about a month ago, and been using it everyday at work at sometimes at home. I absolutely love the thing. Favorite part is the unifying receiver.

updated my early 2015 mbp to 10.10.5
and now my mx masters is so laggy its unbearable to use... anyone have a fix?

Mine is always choppy and laggy when I'm on 2.4GHz WiFi on my rMBP. As soon as I switch to 5GHz WiFi network, it resolves itself immediately. Perhaps that could help you?

It might be interference. Did you try using the Pico adapter and turn Bluetooth off?

weird I turned off my bluetooth and turned it back on now my mouse is smooth.

update: never mind, changed my wifi to 5ghz, it did nothing still laggy

Still having the same issues with mine. I'm exclusively connected to a 5Ghz network and using the mouse with the Unifying receiver. Randomly the curser will just jump all over the screen with slight movement and jitter/jump around.

Have not tried using Bluetooth since El Cap, but things were so unusable when I connected this mouse via Bluetooth in the past I'm worried to try it again. Some jittering/jumping around is nothing compared to the complete loss of response half the time when it was using Bluetooth.

I have just ditched my MX Master as I was sick of all the troubles like you've been experiencing. The USB receiver for the mouse does not play well with several frequencies that are present, including USB 3.0! It's strange....

Also after finding out that the MX Master was only 1600dpi....wow....what a piece of crap. The MX Master is designed for one thing and one thing only. Light desktop work.

I've picked up a Logitech 700S that is both wire and/or wireless and couldn't be happier. Of course it's a gaming mouse, but with the precision that it has it makes for a great mouse to design with as well. (Adobe etc...)

I regret buying the MX Master....

I have MBP 13" Early 2015 and my Logitech MX Master is laggy as hell! It is unusable for any work. I cannot find any solution how to make it work

The first thing I'd do is clean out the sensor cavity on the bottom of the mouse (canned air, or any sort of air pump should do the trick) to make sure there isn't a piece of dirt, dust, or hair getting in the way of the sensor. If that doesn't solve the issue, then there's a source of interference somewhere.

Both the Logitech receiver, and Bluetooth operate on a 2.4GHz frequency, so any other devices operating on that same frequency can interfere with the signal / cause the lag you're experiencing.

The two most likely culprits are a wireless router, and USB 3.0 ports (which have been shown to emit radio frequency interference throughout the 2.4GHz band).

If you have anything connected to the USB 3.0 ports of your MBP, try unplugging it and see if it solves the problem. If the problem persists, move on to the router (be sure to leave any USB devices unplugged while troubleshooting).

If you're connected to a dual-band router, connecting to the 5.0GHz band will likely eliminate any interference coming from the router. If you're only able to connect via a 2.4GHz band, then go into the router settings and try using a different channel (choosing a channel further away from the channel it's currently set to is more likely to reduce / eliminate the interference).

Anyway, I'm currently using an MX Master with a 2014 MacBook Pro, and it works perfectly via Bluetooth. My MacBook Pro is connected to a dual-band router via the 5.0GHz band. If I use the default channel (channel 6) of the 2.4GHz band, the mouse does indeed lag (as does my Magic Mouse). Point being, there's nothing wrong with the MX Master. The fact that all these different devices use the same band to transmit / receive data has a tendency to cause confusion.

I have the Performance MX and the Master MX and I must say that I find the older variant more ergonomic and the button placements more intuitive than on the Master MX. They're both great input devices but in terms of ergonomics and usability the older Performance MX and MX Revolution are clearly a better fit for my hand structure.

It'll go away if you turn off Wifi or use the 5Ghz band (if your router has that). If you can't turn it off or use 5Ghz wifi, you'll have to use the dongle logitech includes to make it work.

Yeah, I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Performance MX, but have never actually used one. I went with the MX Master for the Bluetooth and horizontal scroll (seriously, once you get used to horizontal scroll, you won’t be able to live without it).

My only two complaints with the MX Master are the placement of the forward / back buttons, and the stiffness of the horizontal scroll wheel (it’s a little too stiff for my liking, and can’t be adjusted like the main scroll wheel).

If they moved the forward / back buttons above, and below the horizontal scroll wheel, and provided a way to adjust the scroll speed of the horizontal scroll wheel, it would be pretty close to perfect.

All-in-all, it’s still the best productivity mouse I’ve used to date (not to mention the most comfortable, but that's obviously a bit subjective / dependent on grip and hand size). The battery lasts forever (it goes weeks without needing recharging), and the mouse is useable while charging as well (just plug in the USB cable, and it remains connected via Bluetooth while charging). The speed-scroll is another one of those things that once you use it, you can’t live without it. The fact that it supports Bluetooth (and there are so few decent Bluetooth mice to choose from to begin with) makes it a no-brainer for me.

If you have a jumpy cursor all of of a sudden, it is probably due to the mouse battery charge level becoming very low.
It happened to me and was a big cause of WTF until I plugged the USB cable (for charging) and it was all smooth again.

I just bought the Magic Mouse 2 and after an hour of use, it hurts my hand. I have been reading that the MX Master is the best mouse out there.

For those that are using it for a few months now, do you agree?

I am not a heavy gamer, I just want a good mouse that will work when I use it.

Thanks.

I've had mine since the day they were available last spring, and it's a fantastic ergonomic mouse, though not significantly better than the Performance MX before it in that regard. It gets pretty good battery life; I charge it once a month. If you use the included dongle, it's rock solid connection wise and works on surfaces like glass that the Magic Mouse won't.

The Bluetooth connection isn't as great. Your computer has to have bluetooth 4.0 (every mac since 2011 does), it gets very choppy if you use wifi 2.4Ghz and the mouse on bluetooth at the same time, and because of how Bluetooth 4.0 works, the OS has to be fully booted to use it, and you have to resync it with every OS. What I mean is, if you have it connected in OS X, it won't work on the same machine in Windows under bootcamp until you resync it. That's not a huge issue since it can connect to up to 3 machines and switch with the button on the bottom, but it's annoying when you are used to regular bluetooth stuff just working everywhere.

If you don't mind using the dongle (if you are using it with a desktop, for instance) and you can find the Performance MX cheaper, I'd choose that because you get the same basic functionality minus the bluetooth.

Thanks for the input. I have a macbook pro with open usb ports so the dongle isn't an issue. I will only be using it on the mac.

I got the mouse last night and it is very cool. I have one additional question.

When you are not using the mouse, do you keep the unified receiver plugged in or do you remove it? Does it drain the battery even when the mouse isn't being used?

Thanks.

I've been using mine (connected via Bluetooth) with a 15" MBP for several months now, and it has become the most comfortable / best productivity mouse I've used to date (although if you're coming from a smaller magic mouse, it will likely take some getting used to).

I'm at my computer working all day, and I get several weeks out of a single charge. Once you get used to the speed-scroll, and side-scroll, you won't be able to live without it.

The only potential issue (which is responsible for the majority of the bad reviews), is Bluetooth interference. 2.4GHz WiFi, and USB 3.0 are the two most common sources of interference.

Also, given the extreme battery life, it's not going to have the resolution / speed of a hardcore gaming mouse (which doesn't sound like it's an issue for you).

Don't think about it too hard. The mouse has great battery life... leave the dongle plugged in unless you don't want to... i doubt it makes much of a difference. It also has an off switch if you aren't using it for a longtime. Just use it and enjoy it.
