Link now goes to a pre-order price of $69.99 as stated in the article and in the press release. Looks like the Logitech store price of $79.99 was an error.

Still expensive for what it is, but now slightly less so.

More manufacturing crap causing world pollution. Seriously, I can't believe the rubbish that companies make. Are humans so lazy & obese that they simply can't plug in a iPhone themselves or simply pick one up???
All of this disgusts me. Landfills full of junk because of this greed!

Your fake outrage disgusts me

I like the look, it would be nice for a desk charging stand. But for $79.99 (price seems to be wrong in the MR article) it doesn't seem worth it. Looks like it won't work with a future iPhone X Plus either.
It works with the 8 Plus so it should work with the new larger iPhone considering it isn't expected to be bigger than the 8 Plus in terms of dimensions.

I like the idea of wireless charging, but the Mophie pads I bought for my iPhone X (in a Sena leather wallet case) are a little hit & miss.

Having seen this 'can only go in one place' variant I think I'll try with a cardboard mock-up and then a solid hardwood block version with 'a routered-out circle' for the charging pad to embed into. Thanks for the inspiration Logitech!

This basically means "we're complying to the MFi (Made For iPhone) programme rules".
I wonder if the cradle is wide enough for the iPhone X Plus. If anything, Apple could give Logitech a hint in this regard during the design process.

How is this different from wired charging?? There's no difference between plugin a charging station or plugin the iPhone directly. Plus there's no fast charging. This whole wireless charging is totally ridiculous.

Why? It's VERY convenient - I just drop my phone and i'm *ALWAYS* charging and never have to plug or unplug. Have three - one at my bed stand, one at my home desk and one at my work desk.. I'm basically always topped off and it's been AWESOME ditching the cable.

Maybe I missed it, because I haven't read the whole thread, but how's it different from the Belkin one?

In fact, the Belkin one charges at 10W... just btw. And comes in black and white. I got mine for pretty cheap because of the Best Buy employee discount (thanks, son!) and I use it for my home office so my phone can sit upright while I'm working and listening to music.

It's not ugly... it's just not exactly a rare sculpture. But... Apple is about to put out a mat that will be more expensive and resemble a flattened blood pressure cuff, so people in glass houses and all...

:D

It only charges at 7.5w for the iPhone. Only Sony and LG phones charge at 10w.

You are correct! Their marketing is misleading. I'm not worried on my end because mine was so cheap, but sheesh. I do like the charger for my desk in my home office, though. My phone sits on it while I work, so it's not like I need rapid charging so much.
