Just paid $76 this morning for Swift Unlocks iPhone 6 AT&T unlock. Has anyone used them recently (in the last week). I am leaving the country in Wed. evening and am really hoping they come through before then.

I paid $20 for another site (att-iphone-unlock.com/) which promised 1-10 business days and never came through (I ordered Nov. 21). I opened a case with Paypal and they refunded me within a few hours, that must mean a lot of others have requested refunds from them.

Any updates on Swift Unlocks is appreciated!

I ordered the "AT&T IPhone 6, 6 [CLEAN] *CHEAPER*" from SwiftUnlocks on December 9th and still haven't been unlocked yet. It says 1-4 days as the time frame for the unlock. I am approaching the 4th day and will keep you guys posted on the status of my iPhone 6+.

Success rate is only 40% Are you in contract? I am in contract and wanted to try the cheaper way first ... so far I am still waiting too. Worse case I ll use the Premium service which is suppose to be 100% success rate!

Of course I am still in contract. If I wasn't I would of contacted AT&T to unlock it. They unlocked my iPhone 5 with no questions. I am still waiting on the swiftUnlock with my contracted iPhone 6+ AT&T device. Today is the fourth day and no updates on the progress. It says excluding weekends so :( yeah. If I don't hear anything by Wednesday (which would give them 6 business days), I will have no choice but to dispute the charges.

*UPDATE

Unlock was unsuccessful. Here is the email I got:
"Hi (Removed),

The reason why your order has failed is because this phone is either in contract or has history attached to the device.

We do offer a PREMIUM AT&T iPhone unlock service that is 100% successful (12-72 Hours). This the most accurate service and we guarantee this is the only option at the moment.

If interested here is the link:

Cost: $75.99

Thanks

unlocking the unactivated iphone on at&t w/ contract

I just unlocked my AT&T iphone 6 under a new 2 years contract with the swiftunlock website. I paid $75. You will need a nano sim from another operator such as T-Mobile. I had to cut a micro sim in order to fit the iPhone tray. I followed the procedure and saw in iTunes the unlock message, I even received a message from Tmobile in my iTunes stating that I have to upgrade my iPhone with the operator parameters. However I have a no service signal and no tmobile detection on my iPhone. I hope this is just because my T-Mobile sim is really old and perhaps not anymore activated. I need to find a working nano Sim from from other operator to be sure it is working...

i am trying to unlock an unactivated & sealed iphone 6+ on ATT with contract. when the unlock is ready, do you guys think i can skip itunes restore process & activate the iphone using non at&t SIM card ?
anybody tried this before ?

many thanks !

I have no idea. I'm sure you ask this question to the unlocking service you want yo use.

If any of you have a genius bar replacement, try getting att to unlock that. They just approved the request for mine

Just thought I would chime in on this thread to confirm that the Genius Bar replacement for my iPhone 6+ was approved for an unlock request via AT&T's online request form at https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/

Thanks for the heads up terraphantm, I had no idea replacement phones were eligible!

So did anyone successfully unlock theirs? I am trying to figure out if I should buy the device outright at Apple or get it under Next and have it unlocked via 3rd party.

Meaning what - that you were still under contract for the original device but they were willing to unlock the warranty replacement?

So the original iPhone 6+ was a subsidized device still under contract?
Then you got a warranty replacement and ATT unlocked that for you?

I'm looking to get an on contract 6 unlocked but not in any rush. What are the odds prices will start to come down as demand decreases?

Yup, my iPhone 6+ I originally purchased in September was under a 2-year contract.

After reading terraphantm's post, the warranty replacement I received in November was approved for an unlock request through their website in less than 24 hours after submitting the request.

I've used these guys twice. I would again.

just wanted to verify these guys are good to go... stationed in Japan and they're the only ones I can find that will unlock my phone that's locked through SoftBank... cheers! thanks in advance!

Also, what do they do different that makes one way more effective than the other? Basic vs premium?

Please pardon me if this slightly off-topic. My friends who unlocked an in-contract ATT device (iPhone 4S) using third party service got a bill for the ETF in their next bill. My friends were still on ATT network/plan. They just sent the phone to India after unlocking.

How did ATT know about the unlocking? Did anyone else hear any stories like these?

BTW, Happy New Year All....

Thanks,

The only way they got a bill for the ETF was if they cancelled their AT&T service, including porting their # to another carrier.

Otherwise, the unlocking of the phone would not trigger the ETF. AT&T doesn't necessarily care what happens to the phone, as long as the account itself remains open, and current.

Thanks for the quick response. Also, does it matter if I suspend the service temporarily before or after unlocking the phone?

Thanks,

Hi,

I placed a request with swiftunlocks to unlock an AT&T iPhone 6 (obviously still in contract) on Dec. 30 00:5X UTC and it was unlocked this morning Jan 03 19:2X UTC. All in all I am happy with the service, considering the Christmas holidays period.

Have you tested this with another carriers SIM? Also, did you get the unlocked notice in iTunes when connected?

Nothing to do with AT&T but Telus in Alberta Canada told me when i purchased my 2 iphone 6's that they would unlock them for 30.00 each but not for 3 months. Since i got them with a 2 yr contract.

Yes, I tested it with a T-Mobile SIM card. I didn't try to do the restore phone that would give me the iTunes message, unnecessary, as I tested it with the T-Mobile SIM card.
