The house looks very, very nice.

Indeed, it is MUCH more tasteful that that piece of crap yacht that the widow Jobs tools around in.

I'm sure Woz paid nowhere near $4.5M when he built it.

Prices have come down. 4.5M is not a lot for a house like that. If it were located here (southern California beach city) it would be well over $15M. Yes I'm serious. I'm in the construction biz and work in that area. I know of more then one house under construction right now where the owner bought a 10M house and tore it down and what is going back up is not as nice, not even close to as nice. But then you know the saying, there are only three important things about real estate Location, location and location. But then Los Gatos is a nice area if you've been up there. I really don't understand the low price.

This is a "natural adobe". Those are expensive to builld as all the blocks are made on-site and here in CA the building code makes it a little complex to build so you need some specialists.

One of the most beautiful homes I've ever seen. The atmosphere is incredible. Now, if I cold just find that extra 5 mill - it's here somewhere. Must be stuck between the couch cushions.

How would you measure a house with 5 full bathrooms and 3 "half" bathrooms, it seems a confusing thing to try to boil into a single figure.

That said, if it is truly 6 full bathrooms and one half-bathroom, then… why? I can understand a luxury home having en-suite facilities and maybe the two or three biggest rooms having a full en-suite bathroom, but why six baths? What has the Woz been up to that requires everyone to be able to take a bath simultaneously?!

It is becoming more and more common for newer houses to have an all-bedrooms-are-master-bedrooms-with-bath structure, or close to it.

I wouldn't be surprised if each bedroom had its own full bath, with a powder room (or 1/2 bath) for the entertaining area.

Beautiful modern house, btw. The renovation looks great.

That would be 5 and 3 half baths. Mathematicians around the world cringe.

This is supposed to be a tech news blog, not a cult.

I thought it was for anything to do with Apple, something Woz has... a little bit to do with.

In the case of multiple half baths then it is listed as such. The .5 can only be used on houses with one half bath. Anything more would have to be spelled out "3 full bath, 2 half bath". Not a hard concept to understand..

The only things more irritating than the "is Safari snappier" posts are the "why is this on Macrumors/front page etc." posts. If you don't like what is posted then why don't you PM the moderators and not subject the rest of us to your personal opinions. The stories that don't interest me I skip over, and the ones that do, I engage in a discussion. You can do what you want, but all you are doing is pissing people off with your waste of a post, but then maybe you were trying to troll the thread in which case I fell into your fiendish trap.

It is common in higher-end real estate to have a bathroom for every bedroom, plus a half bath. Pretty simple to understand. Why would you NOT want a bathroom for every bedroom?

SoCal prices have come down just as much, or more so than Bay area. OF COURSE it would be worth more on the beach, what house wouldn't?!? Whether 4.5M is a lot for that house really depends on whether you want to live in a remote area or not. Personally, I'd never live there, I'd spend the same money for a place 1/3 the size at the beach. But there's something for everyone.

Could someone shoot this guy a "Powerbook G5 on Tuesday"? :D
