Old news, we already knew 6 months ago that the iPhone 5 was going to be teardrop shaped. Like a mini MBA.
Right, but the bottom line is did _YOU_ have a problem with the antenna. If not then the whole point is moot. For instance, I have a 4, no bumper (could have got a free one if I wanted) and no reception/antenna issues. Therefore I don't care if they redesign the antenna on the 5 (unless they make it worse ) and I certainly wouldn't feel screwed if they improved it any more than I would feel screwed because the 5 does other things better than my 4.
Well, it could be considered a new product. Less powerful internals, less memory, designed specifically for use with the iCloud. The Macbook Air did come out after the Macbook pro, is selling for a lower price point, and is doing pretty well.
"Introducing the new iphone cloud, with the new radical raindrop design."
I just hope that people who want one can get it on the first day regardless if they're in Canada, the States or elsewhere.
You didn't See Apple Saying Lets Talk Iphones Plural on their Invitation, I have a feeling there Is only one device release. I'll Gladly be wrong but Im gonna side with the article on this one.
I just refuse to believe that after 16 months they will "3GS us"
Honestly I really think we are just going to see a 4S type of update.
So seriously, again, why do so many people feel the 3GS was a negative upgrade ? It was a much bigger upgrade than the original to the 3G. A case doesn't make the phone, the iPhone 3G showed us that, why do some of you refuse to learn from history ?
I again welcome an iPhone 4 look-alike that will be much upgraded and called the iPhone 5.
Macrumors has the worst news forum that I've been to.
Everyone expects a 4S phone to be released for the low end.
The 4S will take over for the 4 and act like the 3GS during the 4s reign.
Do you really expect Apple to sell a $500 phone in India and China?
As someone who looked at the 3G and skipped it, I completely agree. I don't get the 3GS bashing when it was, in my opinion, a huge leap from the original iPhone and 3G. Not only that, it was not marred by any real or perceived faults at launch. While it did most things better than the iPhone and 3G it didn't do anything worse.I keep hoping they will 3GS us. Seriously, after the disappointing iPhone 3G upgrade (a case and a 3G chip ? That's it ? Oh wait no, reduced battery life. Wow...), the 3GS was a breath of fresh air. It got a new SoC architecture, much upgraded GPU/CPU (both of these still live on in the iPhone 4. The A4 is the same SoC as the 3GS only Apple branded and a bit higher clocked), a video camera, voice control, a compass and better battery life.
The 3GS got iOS 3, iOS 4 and is now getting a full featured release of iOS 5
The 3G got iOS 2, iOS 3 and a crippled version of iOS 4 that didn't even have a single of the flagship features.

...At the very least, they will make sure the antenna etc is perfect...
The only actual parts that anyone has seen look like an iPhone 4. The only physical evidence of a redesign has been the third party case. Maybe I'm wrong about that, because I deliberately try to not follow this story too closely because it is so stupid.
But assuming I am right, that there have been no redesigned parts in the wild this close to launch, when Apple has not been able to keep a single product design secret over the last several years, I think you'd have to be a pretty sad and deluded soul to be holding onto hope for this teardrop iPhone.
Exactly!!! Nobody knows if we will have a 4S or a 5 or both AND ON TOP OF THAT, nobody knows for sure the specs of either!
How can anybody say they don't want a 4S?!?
The general assumptions are that a "4s" will be a new chip and camera upgrade to the same 15 month old design. That's it. And the "5" will be that plus a new design, 4" screen (or larger) and perhaps more ram.OK, let me get this straight
You Don't want something that doesn't exist yet, but you DO want something else that doesn't exist yet either...
Did I get that right??
God...are you people seriously this _______? Fill in the blank with a synonym of stupid.
If Apple released a teardrop design, do you think for some reason it would be huge on one and end tiny on the other? No. It would literally be millimeters difference from one side to the other. You probably woulnd't even see it laying on it's back.
I'm so sick of this "it'd be hard to hold!!! oh gawd!!!!" nonsense.
How can anyone say they absolutely want the iPhone 5 when nobody outside of Apple even knows IF they will release it (vs 4S), let alone what features it offers.
It is like saying you hate the taste of some type of food when you have never even tasted it.
I for one am excited about iOS 5, I just hope the Voice features work with the iPhone 4 and don't require new hardware.
