I lost pair of my sunglasses while on a rollercoaster a couple of years ago--despite being tucked into a shirt pocket under my jacket. The operator told me to come back after a certain time, because they stop the ride and do a walk around the grounds for lost items. Obviously it's too late in the OP's case, but I was mildly surprised they did that without a noticeable delay in wait times, despite being a large ride.

... I too would have played the fat card. ;)

Fat card games are the most dangerous.

im sorry you lost your phone but man what were you thinkng? i lost my $300 prescription oakley sunglasses at 'its a small world' in disney and i thought i was the dumbest person ever.

and if anyone cares, i got them replaced for only $100 so all is well for me at least (for now)

I would worry about the iPhone being extremely damaged, iPhones are pretty fragile. You'll get an email saying when the message was delivered when the connection is good enough for the phone to receive the message, not as soon as the phone is unlocked. If the iPhone was turned off before it fell, then it obviously was turned on to receive the message. Falling out of your pocket from atleast 15 feet in the air onto concrete doesn't sound like something the iPhone could withstand without requiring a few hundred in repairs, anyway. I've heard that Apple will replace the iPhone for $199/$299 if it's under warranty under some circumstances. I never bring my iPhone into Six Flags so I don't have to worry about it while I'm in the park.

that sucks so bad im sorry! did you try to get help from six flags? what ever you do dont tell them you lost an iphone, just a normal phone. go back and get it man! dont loose hope.

Man! I'm sorry to hear about that. Its got to suck big time. It would probably ruin my day too. Not so much becuase of it being demolished or maybe stolen, but i'd be kicking myself all day long.

I would definitely try to find it. Even if its totally scrapped, i'd still want it.

I'm thinking that it probably got picked up by someone by now for sure.

How long are you willing to search for it when you get the chance? You've gotta act fast, if some maintenance worker finds your phone, chances are he won't give it back depending on the money he's making. You don't want to let the whole six flags team know that there's a $700 phone sitting under the Superman ride. Chances are, it'll be more of a treasure hunt theme of Finders Keepers. Talk to management EARLY IN THE MORNING because I'm sure workers go through that area frequently to make sure nothing is wrong.

I think you're out of order relating someone's honesty to their earning potential. Just because someone doesn't dress in a suit for work doesn't make them dishonest (and vice-versa)

Sorry about losing your phone.

I think this is one of those times where you might not want to make fun of people in parks with "fanny packs". The nicer ones that are compact and water resistant is what i would have rolled with.

I would have brought my iphone to the park with me also. I dont have junk phone.

This is the exact reason I left my iPhone locked in the center console of my truck. I wasn't about to take the chance of loosing mine at Six Flags in Atlanta last weekend. Good luck though

Thank you and I agree. Bernie Madoff dressed well and he certainly wasn't very honest was he?

And to further illustrate the point. For 2 summers I canvassed for the environment (petitions and donations) and those in the lower income areas were actually much more interested in helping than those in the affluent areas.

You can't generalize though. People come in all shapes, sizes and ethics. It's not income OR job based.

sounds like to me it did get the message, right before the lawnmower chopped it into a hundred pieces.

I hope not, but i have seen wallets destroyed this way at Carowinds

(sorry for the dramatics, I really meant "a wallet" :D)

If this ever happens to anyone else, just tell a worker you lost your phone on the ride once you get off. They'll let you in there to get it when it's safe.

$699 is unsubsidized iPhone 32gb s. $499 is the partial subsized priced of the phone. You better go find the phone unless you want to put out $700 plus taxes for new iPhone.

So I just got back from the apple store today, with a new 32GB 3GS in hand. The price was $499, not $699 and I have the receipt to prove it.

You still wont win, dummy. You spent $500 on something you didnt need to. What are you proving?

They gave you the early upgrade pricing because you just signed a new contract a month ago. That was a compromise on their part. You still have the contract that applies to your phone.

There are 3 tiers of pricing...the lowest two are with a new 2 year contract...the third is without a contract. There is no disputing this...these are the facts...you just happened to get the early upgrade pricing since you already signed a new contract.

And this is why I bring a backpack to have my phone in it. Or. If you didn't want to bring a backpack.. That's why they have lockers.. At least at SFMM they do.

When I go to a theme park, I keep my phone in a ziplock. Actually 2 ziplocks.

Good thing is, my phone didn't get wet.
Bad thing is, i lost my cap. They told me to come back at a specific time. I never did get that cap back :(

Nope

Just somebody looking for attention and a bad sense of humor. I would suggest to anybody that finding a cheap used phone on say Creigslist is a VG idea lots of old phones under the $50 mark just make sure it works with your carrier. this is one thing superior about carriers that use sims. take yours out pop it in the other phone. then if you drop your phone no worries!
