I think the premier of season 2 was the best 3 minutes of TV I've ever watched (building off season 1) , and will keep me watching to the end, (either live or on DVD)

Yeah me too. One wet and rainy weekend my housemates and I burned through about 14 episodes of Lost, the last two being episodes 1-2 of Season 2 and seeing what was in the hatch was awesome.

It seems so long ago that the perspective of "90 days" on the island seems a little lost. If I could be bothered, I'd watch all three series as close together as possible and see if that perspective was there at all, or whether it has deviated and been drawn out so much that there are some huge discrepancies and inconsistencies in the storyline, or whether it all works out well.

In 90 days they've had a hell of a lot happen to the them!

It's going to be hard to live up to the mysteries they have offered to the audience up to that point, we all have our own hopes/ideas what the Island should be about.

I could not agree more. Those first few minutes of Season 2 still resonate with me and I still get chills when I watch it.

The start of Season 3 wasn't bad, though :) Not quite as "OMGHOLYCRAPWTFMATE?!" as Season 2, but still a "Holy crap!" moment for me.

I personally think that the first half of season 3 sucked. But thats just me. Now it is getting good and I am happy. I still think Season 1 was the best season

I wasn't talking about the first half of the season, just the first few minutes of the opener. But I agree, Season 1 by far the best so far, and Season 3 dragged for a while but has definitely picked up lately.

Just in case anyone was wondering what it was like to binge, my family and I watched season 1 all the way to the first 3/4 of 3 in about 3-4 weeks. I don't think that it is that far fetched that they have been on the island only for about 3 months, but I could see how you would feel that if you were watching them one week at a time.

One thing that is funny is that when you watch them all back to back like this, you start to notice the plots that they bring up and then just forget about really easy. For instance, remeber when Locke gave Boone that goo on his head that "Told him what he needed to know?" What was that about?

P-Worm

Wow...I don't remember that *at all*.....know what ep that's in so I can go back and check it out?

Yeah really!

I started watching again (after giving up during season 1 - sick of the changing plots) and I caught up on season 2 in a matter of weeks. I thought the same thing. It's like they're just making it up as they go along. (bastids!)

I can't believe I let this show suck me in again.

^ a super LOL.

Yea sorry Cindynjgirl79. This is the only US show I watch anymore so it's crucial to me that they don't break it

Season 3 Final episode is supposed to be 2 hours long this wednesday :)

Still, yes, I remember Locke putting the Goo on Boone's head and I guess it was just some mind-altering natural substance, I guess that what isn't important they don't mention again.

The true riddle is the fact that all the passengers in Flight Oceanic 815 were found dead, including Charlie, the "rock star".

And as far as I know this show isn't being writted as they go, they wrote the beggining and the end, and now they're just exploring the characters, throwing riddles, etc, but I firmly believe that the ending is written since day 1 :)

They were still casting/making up the script for hour 2 of the pilot while they were filming hour 1 of the pilot, so I wouldn't be so sure about that. :)

lol, the cast is a whole different thing, what I meant to say was, when the creators/writers joined to start writing the show they created the premise and the conclusion, getting the cast is important but it has got nothing to do with the screenplay.

I remember seeing an interview in which the writers admitted that the ending was already written, they already had the explanation for all the mysteries (polar bears, black smoke, the visions) and now it was just a matter of how many turns they can take to get there :)

Can you imagine what it would happen if they would start writing the show, throwing all those mysteries and then realize that they were unable to explain them and take the risk of directing the worst series finale ever? :D

I don't think so.. wether "purgatory", "the end of the world", "alternate dimensions", "reality show", "government experiment", etc etc, I think that "what the island is?" is defined since the beggining, as it would be a bigger risk not to.

Yeah I know, I'm a Lost fanatic... :D

I'd actually heard that as well. That when they started the show they had a starting point and an ending point (perhaps not all the dialogue or specific details, but a general idea of what starts the show and how the show ends), but they were leaving the road from point A to point B up for grabs.

Exactly! Well described :)

There are so many theories out there.. it's unbelievable, I'd rather just wait, I've gotten to that point where I can just enjoy the show episode by episode instead of wondering how it'll end.

But the fact that they were all found dead (in the plane crash) ressurected my "go read more Lost theories" behavior :D

Not really a flashback....whoa...didn't see that coming.

The entyire freakin show? The whole island is a flashback?!?!?
Edit: As great as Heroes was. Thier finale was so predictable. This was way better.
Some lose ends though... What about it not being Penny's boat? Who's funeral in a prodominatly black neighborhood did no one want to attend except for Jack? Michael? That coffin seemed kinda small? Maybe it was just a poor neighborhood. An amputated Locke? He did try to keep them from leaving.

No no no - I don't think that's what that meant. I think that was just an interesting twist on the typical backstory. And I for one, loved it.

So, I never read the lostfan108 stuff - how right was he?

So....who's in the coffin? My vote is for Ben.
