Oh, yellow, you're so jaded ;) :D

I am, and it's sad.

For the longest time I've called "Heroes" "Lost for dummies". But now I'm actually starting to prefer it's simple plot lines. Nothing gets too complicated. I don't feel (yet) like the show is being milked for cash (I mean, is it just me, or were there a bajillion commercials in Lost?).

Maybe I just tire of Lost. Season 1 was so fantastic. Season 2 was pretty damn solid. Season 3.. well it's been a HUGE disappointment to me.

I guess I am jaded.

I must reitterate that Lyle is absolutely correct. I will be watching Lost next season. At least for a little while.

i agree; i did not watch it until the summer before this season. someone told me i HAD to watch it so i netflixed season one and i spent an entire weekend watching the whole season - it was absolutely fantastic. there was a certain narrative aesthetic about it that i really love; kind of a distilled complexity that was very engaging.

season 3 just got silly after a while. one thing of note is that the "the_answers" special that was on just before the finale one of the producers says something like "by the end of the series everything will fit into place and be answered." at the moment that is the only thing keeping me as engaged as i have been in season 1: knowing (assuming he is not lying) that ultimately everything will be explained.

what i very, very much hope is that the series does not end with a lot of big unexplained holes; unfortunately i see this as a real possibility.

I just read lostfan108 spoilers posted May 20. Who is this? They must have some kind of in because it was all on the money. Some of it could have been guess work but the biggest suspision is Saywer and Julet getting the guns. That is to specfic. I wouldn't even call that a spoiler. For me a spoiler is something that has aired but you haven't seen it yet and want to wait. I'd call it 'do you want to know what happens before it airs'.

For next season, I probably wont go back to read lostfan108 cause it is obvious they know exactly what's gonna happen.

I love a good cliff hanger, it's fun to try to figure out what's gonna happen and if you are right.

Just keeping with one theory is the hard part.

I thought it was a good recovery to a bad season.

Looking forward to next year. Hopefully they will put the Hiatus thing back in the closet.

I came up with this theory that made sense to at least me.

What if Ben was right, that if they do make the call everyone dies... because once you leave the island you start to have unfortunate accidents (like Hurly when he won the lotto) that lead to your untimely death.

That would at least explain to me why Jack is falling over himself to get back, some random obituary that was obvious it was someone from the island, why no one was at the funeral seeing as either no one is left alive or they choose not to see where they will end up fairly soon.

All seems a little final destination to me but after the second season and those numbers I wouldn't dismiss it.

I can buy that...especially with all of Locke's talk about "destiny"...

OMG Walt has pubes

The two hot chicks beating the crap out of Charlie (what a way to go, huh?). :D

And Hurley causing the most awesome hippie-induced death, immediately followed by Sayid snapping a guy’s neck with his FEET. And I know he was a dick and all… but… POOR TOM.

Awesome final and I actually enjoyed the flashback/forward :D

Sawyer and Juliette are heading back to the beach.
Sawyer says, "why'd you pull us out of the polar bear cages and put us on the chain gang."
Juliette says, "We were building a runway".

Any meaning? or just random throw away lines about an event that had no relevance to the story.

The dark haired female that was in the looking glass looked familiar.
I'm not sure whether I've seen her earlier in Lost or in something else.

When rendezvousing with Kate, Kate tells Jack, "This isn't going to change..." and Jack snaps back, "I'm tired of lying!"

What are they lying about?

Future Kate says "I have to go, he'll be wondering where I am"

It's easy to assume that she is referring to Sawyer (assuming he cleaned up his act and settled down w/ Kate)

The cynic in me wants to think that they are having or have had an affair.

A little strange how Locke could kill the parachute lady and not Jack, especially if he believed so strongly in his cause.

I loved the Hurley scene, a little poetic justice since it was the vehicle that Ben's dad died in. Almost like island payback time.

I think Locke takes Jacob's place and takes over control of the Smoke monster. Then he has the ability to kill without actually doing it himself.

Gotta love wild speculation! :D

Well! That was actually surprisingly good. I even though of a way the flash forwards could be useful - their events on the island will impact their future selves. As completely non-important as that is. Does let me down that the world hasn't ended. I love a good apocalyptic show after all :)

Down side... we'll know who survives. That was a big part of the suspense for me. So no matter what we know Jack and Kate survive. They can go on suicide missions and it'll no longer be tense for the viewer.

Anyroad! Good episode. Good twists. Musical code was a bit naff. Walt only in it for a moment :( . Farewell Charlie. Good going Hurley and Sawyer! blah blah...

I'm probably more interested to see where Sawyer goes from here. He's becoming both a caring guy and a murderer (well, protecting the ones he cares about, or just being tricked into it). I'd rather have him as a leader than Jack.

Thing is the whole 2 Looking Glass episodes have really changed the show. The Others are no longer a threat and some unknown people are about to enter the island.

He knew Naomi really wasn't there to rescue anyone. He couldn't kill Jack because his heart was in the right place.

Jack's father is the man behind the curtain.

I think it was just a way to get Sawyer and Kate closer together if you know what I mean ;)

I thought that the dark haired lady was the stewardess. Am I wrong?

I don't think anyone has posted something like this yet, so here's a high res (sharpened) image of the newspaper clipping.

High res image

This is how I read it:

"Los Angeles
Man found dead in downtown loft

The body of J[looks like an 'o' or 'a']... ...anthem of New York was found shortly after 4 a.m. in the ......... of Grand Avenue.

.......man at The Tower [heard several?] loud noises ................. loft. ................ a beam in the......."

That's all I can make out.

Can anyone make anything else out?

I loved the finale. My wife and I had definitely begun to lose interest this season, but they had a great finale that rekindled our interests.

I'll admit I didn't realize it was all a flash-forward until after the talk of wanting the plane to crash in the Jack/Kate scene. It then made perfect sense, aside from the references to Jack's dad. But as others have said, we haven't seen his body on the island, and even though Jack saw him in Australia, that doesn't mean anything once he's on the island. ;)

I'm not completely convinced all the "visions" (Jack's dad, the horse, Walt) are the black smoke. Walt was "special", so he definitely still has a part to play.

As for the newspaper clipping, I don't think it's anyone we've met before, unless it's Jacob, but I doubt it.

Ugh, I hate having to wait so long for the next season. :p

EDIT: And the "Hoffs-Drawlar" anagram for "Flash Forward" is awesome! :D

is what the wiki got. and I was to lazy to update the image i posted last night, so you are the first.

I actually believed Ben in the end. I mean, come on, it's never going to be as easy as that! Where's the fodder for series 4-6? There is plenty of conflict left unless they play golf for the next few series. ;)

Locke was shot in the chest but he survived. Eye patch guy (already forgotten his name :D ) had been killed twice. Part of me thinks Tom isn't dead and that Jack will live up to what he said.

I'm watching a film at the moment called Don't Look Now which feels a bit Lost-ish. It's about a girl who goes dies but a psychic woman tells her parents she's still near them and they keep seeing her flashing about all the place. Really does feel like a 1970's British Lost in an abstract way.

Well It looks like a possible 'L' before "anthem" so (white text follows and the link may have more information than some would like) it looks like the name is Jo? Lantham and from this site
This was posted over at the Fuselage as a version from someone that they suspect works on the show.
"The body of John Lantham of New York was found shortly after 4 am in the 4300 block of Grand Avenue.

Ted Worden, a doorman at the Tower Lofts complex, heard loud noises coming from the victim's loft.

Concerned for tenants' safety, he entered the loft and found the body hanging from a beam in the living room.

According to Jaime Ortiz, a police spokesman, the incident was deemed a suicide after medical tests. Latham (sic) is survived by one teenaged son.

Memorial services will be held at the Hoffs-Drawlar Funeral Home tomorrow evening."

The obit might be for someone we still have not met...

Please just stop watching and go away. Thanks.

Thanks. I'll be sure to take your suggestion under advisement.

EDIT: Actually, I'd like to say a little more. So, you're saying that I'm not allowed to state my opinion, and I should just blindly continue to smile foolishly and watch the show, despite what pieces of trite garbage are being shoved down my eyeholes?

I was waiting for Season 3 to catch up and it did!

Excelent ending, it was nice to see The Others getting their a$$ kicked and FWIW, if I was Sawyer, I'd shoot the guy too, Mr.Friendly.. bah, die scum! And Sayid's neck-breaking twist made me say "GO BAUER!" :D

Anyway, I was watching the show with a friend of mine and since the beginning of the 1st part of the final episode I was saying "this is not a flashback! this is the future, after they leave the island", I guessed it because Jack seemed older and inconsistent to the look he used to have in previous flashbacks, and it made sense.

However, I find plausible the theory that the flash "forward" was not the future at all, it was a vision of Locke, which led him to threaten Jack and to tell him "you're not supposed to do this!" when he was trying to call the ship.

The deceased in the coffin, if it isn't someone who hasn't appeared yet it's Locke or Ben imo, I only say this because of Kate's reaction when Jack talked about it, like she had some anger directed to that person.

And BTW, WALT? WTF? Have the others been feeding the kid hormones in those 30 days? because he looked HUGE to me! :D

And the others aren't dead, there's still a bunch of people, and they can all run to Jacob for help now, and we all know how sneaky Ben is.
