the six have been determined, they are

jack
kate
hurley
sun
sayid
aaron (baby of claire)

Where was it stated that Aaron is one of the six? Has it been confirmed by an official source somewhere?

He wouldn't have been on any passenger lists, and since the world seems to believe he's Kate's son. For all we know Kate's story has Aaron conceived after they were on the island which would make him famous but not a survivor of Flight 815... I still think we have one of the six left to go.

1. who the heck was in the empty coffin jack went to visit when he had a flash-forward (when he met kate at the airport he asked her why didn't she go???)???

That's supposed to be a big reveal.

I don't think it was empty, though, was it?

2. From tonight's episode, is Jin having a flash-forward or flash-back (which would tie in with Sun calling out his name during labor)???

It was an artfully edited Jin flashback and Sun flashforward to make you think they were in the same timeline, but weren't.

3. Where the heck is WALT??? My guess is he is being held by Ben and Jacob since supposedly from season 1 and 2, he was suppose to be special as well?

If next week's previews mean anything, it seems Ben is holding Walt to keep Michael in line...

it was stated in the promos as "next week: find out the next of the oceanic 6" and that week it was aaron.

No, Aaron was the week before...

Until that episode we knew Kate got off the island but she was not confirmed as a member of the Oceanic 6. Some of us think that Kate was the "next of the Oceanic 6" for that episode.

Aaron may be the sixth, but I still think it's someone else... probably Sawyer or Locke...

much as i want to agree (i did not like aaron as one of the 6) i think thats wrong, if for no other reason than the promos leading up to this week's episode were touted as "revealing the last of the oceanic 6" which was sun.

guess I didn't catch the promos for this week leading up to the "last of the Oceanic 6."

TiVo, the cause of and solution to many of life's problems.

1. Trick question, the the coffin was empty no one would be in it! ;) I think early speculation was either Ben or Locke, since we know Ben was alive in Sayid's flash forward I'm thinking it would be Locke... but who knows, it could still be Ben or somebody else.

2. Jin was having a flashback, Sun was having a flash forward... it was the writers yanking us around again.

3. I'd bet Walt somehow got back on the island, we saw him on the island when Locke was shot, but it could have been one of the tricks of the island...

The captain eluded to Ben being the guy to stage the flight and bodies. We know Ben has access to off island resources. At this point we still don't know who's who. Actually it's become a grey area altogether.
<SINP>
So who are the 6 at this point.

Sun (not sure about Jin)
Kate
Hurley
Jack
Sawyer

Desmond wasn't on the plane, not sure if Claire's baby would be considered.
Is it possible that Ben used the "magic box" to recreate the plane and the bodies? If the box's powers extend beyond the island it would also explain why Ben seems so well connected and well funded!

I think the Oceanic Six list is now
1. Jack
2. Kate
3. Hurley
4. Sayid
5. Sun
6. ? It's possible it's Aaron or Sawyer, it all depends on if they would include Claire's baby in that number... and who the "him" was in Jack and Kate's flash forward discussion by the airport.

Oh yeah...I meant empty funeral home....lol...

Lets not forget Ben... We had the flash forward of Sayid and Ben off the island...

We covered that already, the general concensus is that it somehow has to do with the path taken to/from the island.

I dont remember that being the "concensus" ;)
Just one of the many possibilities...

Perhaps the numbers 4 8 15 16 23 42 have something to do with the 6 survivors?
seat numbers?

15 & 16 could be seats next to each other signifing Sun and Jin...

wait, hold on, let me take another toke.... eer...

Those who say Sun and Jin would never leave without each other or that Claire would never let Aaron go without her should keep one possibility in mind: What if everyone on the island knew that only six (or some other small number) could escape the island, and they decided as a group who it would be. If Kate was leaving, perhaps Claire (alive and well) wanted Aaron to go with her so he could grow up in the real world. Perhaps Jin knew Sun would die on the island, so they agreed she would go alone.

Also, the "Oceanic Six" refers to the crash survivors that the public knows about. That doesn't have to be the same as the number of survivors who get off the island.

If anything, this point even more to Jin being dead - if he was off the island, there's no way there'd be a grave with the date of the crash on it if he was alive...

Im gonna stay right here outside the box thank you :)
Very little of the logic we have discussed here on this thread has actually come to fruition.

Whos to say any of this "Oceanic 6" flash forward stuff is actually going to happen? It could just be a wrinkle in time, a possibility of what could happen but not necessarily what will happen...

If this show has showed us anything, its that its not linear.

I feel like I need a decoder ring for this show now.

Part science, part magic, mostly 8-ball.

Lost Decoder ring, will we learn anything substantive about the island this season?

<shake>

"Outlook not so good"

i think the sixth is Aaron.
just imagine if something like this happened in reality, and just 5 from the flight survive + one baby born during the disappearance time, what are the media going to call them? the Oceanic 5+1/2?
it would be the Oceanic Six for the public, and it's irrelevant that Aaron wasn't technically on the flight manifesto. he still is a survivor of the ordeal.

as far as Jin, i think it's left purposedly muddy if he is dead or alive.
I'm inclined to think he died, but even if he was alive, (but still on the island, with his fate unknown to her) Jun would go there anyway, because that is what she has and of course she would 'miss him so much'.

Also, she would probably be a very public figure at this point, just like hugo, and so in a way they would have to 'go to him' just to maintain the cover.

Another aspect to consider is Jun's father.
He is very powerful and rich. unless he is directly involved with the island business, wouldn't she get him he use his power/resources to get jin back, if he remained behind?

finally, i digged the double flash forward/back trick. it was clever and well done.
to me the giveaway was the "year of the dragon" comment, because i knew it was 2000, and the old cell phone sort of confirmed it (and also the "old jin" i will kill you comment).

Jack
Kate
Sun
Hurly
Sayid
Aaron??

But, but, but.. who was the funeral for? The one that Jack went to?

I still think its Ben. I mean what else are they gonna say? Oceanic 5 and the crazy guy who was also on the island?

I have a feeling that if this is actually how it will end, there will be a twist where Ben is the last part of the six where he heroically does some deed making it possible for him to escape too. He then fakes his death with the help of the other escapees to keep him from prosecution...

i think it's aaron for the reason poste above, whereas it would be a really hard case to make for ben. plus ben is been looked for by a number of people, so i doubt he'd like to become a public figure.

i don't think that 'the island' is ever mentioned in the official coverup story, and much less the people on it. Is there any hint yet in how the '6' survived the months after the crash? do they say anywhere that they were on an island? a small craft maybe? in anycase it has to be arranged to be in the area where the fake plane was 'discovered'.

I'm more interested in knowing how the account for finding them alive after their bodies were already found in the original wreckage.

Why would Kate go back? She has zero incentive to go back (seeing as how she is facing prison time.)

Unless you're suggesting it's some sort of "most-fit" or pre-ordained who should go back, which would make things even whackier.

Jin has to be one of the Six along with Sun. She went to the graveyard to talk to his headstone with her new baby in tow. This means both Sun and Jin got off the Island.

Plus last night it showed Jin going to Sun's hospital room with the panda bear. And he looked in and saw Sun in her bed with the baby. This was a flash forward for Jin.

not at all; it could be an empty grave. happens all the time for people who's bodies are not recoverable from an accident, etc..

no it did not. it was a different woman entirely; there was no flash where jin saw sun at all. there was a moment when sun imaginged it was jin helping her give birth, but that was clearly just a moment of hallucination on sun's part.

Everyone on the island probably has a headstone or memorial set up by their family. Remember they're all dead according to the outside world. With the date of Jin's death on the headstone being the date of the crash, he is either dead or still on the island, either way the 6 are maintaining the myth that he died in the crash.

I would rule out ben since the six seem to be very public figures, and as badly as Whidmore's people seem to want him I can't imagine he'd last long posing as a survivor.
