Is anyone going to play, and if so will you pick the numbers
4 8 15 16 23 42

I just wonder how many people are playing these numbers in various lotteries across the US.

Edit: If you won with these numbers would you freak out and be ultra scared??

I will probably grab a ticket or two.
I won't play those numbers. If it hits, the payout will be very very small.

I had a database of powerball numbers with probabilities. I pitched it after they changed the ball count. 42 and 23 were good numbers. 8 I think was a bad one. Hard to remember.

If I one I might avoid flying from Sydney to LA. On the other hand I might just seek out such a flight.

For me, it would depend heavily on whether or not Maggie Grace was onboard that flight. :D

anyone has nay comment on the different DHARMA logo seen in the 'other' station? (looks like an arrow)
does this establish that each different station has a different logo?
are the 'real' others just previous ship/plane wrecks?

Here's one possible significance of the number 108... for a particular regular (radially-symmetrical) polygon, all of its interior angles (the angle between any two sides at a vertex) are 108° each.

The shape? A Pentagon.

I'm pretty sure this confirms that there are other, differently logo'ed stations as well. (It was also made pretty clear in the orientation film that they had found the "swan station", implying there were other stations as well).

As for your other question, we don't yet know who the "Others" are, and how they came to be on the island. One theory is that the people who took Walt from the raft (likely Rousseau's "others") are scientists associated with the DHARMA initiative. Screencaps from various episodes compare the individuals in the orientation film with the people on the boat, and they seem to be the same actors. Again, this is just a theory.

I'll see if i can find those comparison pictures...

EDIT: Here we go.

you definitively seem to onto something here :)
they do look like the same people: are they actually credited to the same actors?

I would hope the writers/directors/producers wouldn't do something that stupid. They create so much mystery and intrigue, only to give it away with something like credits? Say it ain't so!

I agree though, I think you are on to something there, pdp. Good one.

Want a better significance for the number 108?

This happened all just right now: My grandma is Buddhist. I noticed her long string of beads that she was moving one by one and mentioned something about it. She then asked if I knew how many beads were on it. I replied that I didn't know. She then said 108. Thinking "Lost" I had to know the significance of 108, and so I asked her. She replied it's the 108 delusions of the human in Buddhist teachings... Google it and tell me what you find out :D

Knowing how this show is showing a relation to religion and such, I think the religion to be focused on is Buddhism or Hinduism because a quick Google search shows me there's 108 names for each Hindu god and I have given a Buddhist meaning.

Which goes along quite nicely with the concept of dharma and its buddhist roots....

Nice one, applekid!! I can't wait for tonight's episode. Do we catch a glimpse of the "Others"? Or do we catch a glimpse o their feet? Knowing "Lost", we'll only see their feet. :)

Interesting trivia about tonight's episode... some of the interior scenes were filmed in a house on Diamond Head that belongs to some family friends of mine... my parents met them when we lived in Hawai'i, and we've remained friends to this day.

Reminder to all East Coasters....

Some of us have to wait 3 hours to see the episode. Please be considerate!

Thank you much.

(Don't be afraid to speculate, just don't reveal too much!)

Thanks for the warning, it's hard to remember about those poor, unfortunate people that have to wait 3 hours to watch the good shows...
At the end it talked about the next episode being in three weeks. What's that about? Does ABC have the world series or something? Three weeks is a long time, wonder if they'll keep us busy with new fake websites and other crazy hints...

Yeah, it sucks alot. But it's almost nine here, so i can't complain....

And yeah, ABC is running reruns already. Gosh darnit.

I think they just don't want to go against the World Series on Fox.

That episode was horrible.

Maybe I'm just in a pissy mood, but they need to start answering at least some questions.

For example:

Who are the others.
What is the real purpose of the hatch.
What is the Dharma initiative, or better yet,
What is the Hanso Foundation.
What happens if one does not enter the numbers.
Where is Desmond.
Why did the plane go down, or how.
What is it about Locke that allows him to know more.
What is so special about Walt.
What is the significance of the numbers.
Where (or when) is the island.
What really happened to Rousseau and her crew.
Why did the hatch say "QUARANTINE".
Did Rousseau's crew really get 'sick'?
Where did Ethan come from?
Why was he so unbelieveably strong?
What does he want with Claire's baby?
What did the psychic see in Claire's future?
Where did the Polar bears come from?
What is the "defense system"?
Is it associated with the hatch?
What made Locke regain the use of his legs?
WHAT IS THE MEANING OF ALL THIS?????

(P.S. please feel free to add your own questions on.. lets see how many unanswered mysteries there are.)

It would probably be easier to list the questions that have been answered. I agree that this was a less than stellar episode. I was surprised, as was my wife, that they did not mention the hatch once.. not once... Who was pushing the button???

I hate baseball. 5 hours of uninspiring TV. It's one thing when they bump their own shows on Fox, such as Arrested Development, Prison Break, and House. But now they aren't going to show Lost for a few weeks because of it.

It was a rather blah episode tonight though. Nothing much happened.

How did the Black Rock get so far inland?
Is Jin's (sp?) father-in-law associated in someway with the Dharma project?
Is there really a sickness?
Who were the people who were buried in cave?
What is with the black and white symbolism's? (those little polished rocks from the buried people, the backgammon, etc...)
Will Kate hook up with Sawyer or Jack?
Will Michael get Walt back?
What happens if you don't execute the numbers?
Will the numbers work with the upcoming lotto? :p

Spoiler::

The numbers are: coordinates for a location in the south pacific

linky; click here for photo

Actually pulled that up on google earth and attached is what you see. just water.. No island.. The island to the north east of the coordinates is, as far as I can tell, is Kosrae, a province of the federated states of micronesia. More info here.
link

Looks to be at least semi populated and close to shipping lanes. Although the numbers can be represented as coordinates, and those coordinates are between Sydney and LA I think this is a reach. JMHO

Hmm.. perhaps this show is starting to become too predictable? All we saw were feet. And a teddy (bear, you pervs). And when Sun lost her ring? I looked at my wife and said, it's with the bottle she buried. Yes, they're minor, but this episode was.. mediocre (IMO).

EDIT: I see I wasn't the only one that didn't think it measured up.

Though I like Mr. Echo's character. One thing I thought was Jin sure understood a lot more English all of a sudden.
