What's weird is that in the Apple commercial they had a guy in the elevator holding a RG iPhone.

So that was almost Apple's way of saying this is a gender neutral device. Or at least they want people to think that.

can someone please take a pic of the back of the rose gold iphone, OUTDOOR? with direct sunlight and in the shade.
I'd like to see this.
Or you could use a grey card and adjust the white balance in Aperture.

well, when I do photo shoots, I usually take my xrite color check passport.
I then pull the raw and create dng to use it on the xrite software, then i can use adobe bridge to adjust the color.
it's a little more steps for a simple request of photos outside in sunshine and in shade.

Yeah, I have a feeling that the Apple Store ins't the best environment for Auto White Balance.

This phone is like that nail vanish that shows up different colours in certain angles and light, I'm sure I had one called "peacock" in my teens, it looked dark blue most it time but sometimes looked like a very, very dark teal. There's a name for this kind of thing but I can't for the life if me remember what it's called right now.

Anyway, is a beautiful phone. It it was available with a black front then I would have bought in a heart beat.

in the sun its copper, in florescent lighting its SUPER pink, and depending on the lighting everywhere in between. It's amazing i have 0 regrets on my choice

Rose Gold iPhone 6 Plus.jpg

Got my Rose Gold iPhone 6s Plus Friday morning. This was taken in my car with the Galaxy S6 Edge+ with daylight from the windows. It is definitely not pink. I've been using it and looking at it under different kinds of lighting all day, and at no time did it look pink to me. Sometimes it is definitely brighter, sometimes darker. But very far from the Barbie pink that some claimed it was like.

Furthermore, I think it's the best color Apple has released on an iPhone. After using it for a day, I think it's a perfect color for a guy or gal. And not one person I showed it to today wondered why I bought it in this color. Now maybe if i slapped some hot pink case on it, I might get some strange looks. But I'm rocking this baby naked most of the time. I bought the black leather case for it to use when I'm more susceptible to damaging it, but I've always used my phones without cases for the most part.

I think this photo is a pretty good representation of what it looks like most of the time. It's absolutely not some bright pink that some were worried about. But it's also not completely copper looking either. I don't think "rose gold" is a misleading name for it at all, and it has exceeded my expectations.

NOTE: If you see some reflections, it's because I hadn't taken the plastic off of the back yet in this photo.

Yeah, that's what I found. All day today it looked light copper to me in my house with the natural light from the windows. Then tonight, it looked pink under the artificial lights. The Touch ID ring is copper under every type of lighting. Here's mine earlier today with natural lighting from the window. I'm really happy with the color and think it's cool how much it changes based on lighting.

Lol, very feminine looking in that picture. Is it hot pink? No but it looks pinkish to me.
To each his own. I personally regret not getting this one, and my wife regrets getting it lol. To her it's not link enough. To me it's much more subtle and more of a copper color.

Oh well. It's my first year in three with a black front. I'm happy with that too.

Why does it matter? The color of someone's phone doesn't dictate anyone's sexual preferences or masculinity, and it's ignorant to think so. The phone can be pink as hell, and if you're judging someone based off the color of their phone, then it's your problem, not theirs.

Don't mean to offend anyone, it's just my opinion, but holy crap I was surprised just how fugly the rose gold was in person. I'm surprised Apple truly let that color fly. It's kind of pink with a tinge of magenta to it, bleh. I've always felt the white fronts were very jarring and ugly as well, even on the gold and silver models, but they really stand out on the rose gold models.

I'm still very surprised they haven't released a darker grey or even black for the black face models. I can only assume they scratch too much, I think the ip5 had issues with that. What a shame, I bet a dark back would sell like hotcakes. Instead they release this hot pink/magenta mess.
It's just a very subjective topic I think and I don't know why people get so annoyed about it. There are so many people who just have one preference and feel it is fact which is why threads like this take the antagonistic route. I like both black and white bezels on an iPhone. I may get space grey next as I've had two silver iPhones. I very briefly had the black iPhone 5 but the potential for scuffs and the fact I didn't like the black rear in person made me switch. I was set to get the space grey 6 until I saw the silver but I like to decide on the spur of the moment.

People need to just buy what they like. No colour is the best colour or everybody would have the same. None of the options are gender specific either. If people are getting offended by what you or I say then it probably best to ignore these types of threads and focus on the real world where this conversation is rare and insignificant. :)

I do hope next year there is some sort of gold with black face option. I really dont care which gold it is. I love the gold, but damn I cannot stand the white face. Especially on the 6 plus. it looks so tacky, and you can see the screen component outline underneath the bezel

I was so worked up about this colour pre-release and hated the rose gold ASW because it looked bright, baby pink in the store. But the phone I received yesterday is pink but a subtle coppery pink. Accurate rose gold. Everyone I showed it to loved the colour. It changes all the time which really is mysterious. It's like that be black dress that some saw as something else. The only thing I hate are the antenna bands. Tacky! But using a clear silicone case from Amazon I feel really happy with the phone. If there ever was a masculine pink I think this is it!

After seeing a friends iPhone in Rose Gold they need to drop the gold for sure. I see no gold just a washed out pink. Where did Apple Use the word gold for this.

My friend likes it and she is very happy and that is all that matters, just not for me.

i don't know what all these people were talking about earlier.

The rose gold colour is veryyy nice.

It's definitely not that light pink pink.. it has a copper look when you hold it in certain angle.

Over all it's diffidently a mix of gold and pink which looks awesome.

Love the rose gold. I've been waiting for a phone in my favorite color, pink. It's a nice shade of pink. Now if the iPad would be released in rose gold it would be great.

went to the apple store to get my SG iPhone, the apple guy at the store was like holy crap, never thought so many guys would go for a pink iPhone lol

Whoa dude, who said anything about a sexual preference? The ignorance is your statement.
I said it it looks feminine and it does...to me. If you want to carry a feminine looking device around, go for it.
I'm sure every female with a 6s will have that color as well.
I remember when dudes were asking if the white phone looked feminine when it came out. Well there are many guys that drive white cars as it is a standard color. Doubt any would drive one in this pinkish Rose gold, lol.
