More information will be available on Friday, but this is what the sales people at the following stores had to say:

Verizon
Info not available on their associate intranet yet. Might be a 2 year contract at $10 a month. Will know more on Friday.

AT&T
Info and training material not received yet, but will likely be an additional device for $10 a month if you're an existing customer. More information available on Friday. No word on contract.

Sprint
Apparently Sprint hasn't carried the Apple Watch in store since the first one? The guy basically shrugged his shoulders. :):):):):):)

That was super quick, thanks for doing that!

Yeah nobody at the mall had any info for me either, they all said whatever has been reported out on the website is correct. AT&T did say that the watches "could" be eligible for the in-store accessory installment- but to confirm with them on friday.

So the device needs its own separate contract?

Now I'm confused. Guess I am waiting till I get more info.

Ridiculous. For $10 I'm not even getting a different number, instead it's the same number on my iPhone and under my data plan. Apple is getting some of that money from the carriers and the carriers can't wait to start screwing customers for the same phone number. I have the series one and will continue to avoid another Apple Watch upgrade. I suspect the next Apple Watch will finally have FaceTime capability now that LTE has been introduced on the watch. I'll hold out till then.

No mention of data allotment? Highly doubt it's unlimited, despite that it has to be very difficult to use large amounts of data on the watch.

Sales of the new watch may suffer simply because of the pricing for data plans. Apple should put pressure on carriers to lower the price for Apple's own sake.

$120/year to use data I'm already paying for.

Exactly. I mean seriously, how much extra data could the watch possibly use, if any at all? It's possible it might even cause less data to be used, since people will leave their phones at home more.

I would take what T-Mobile rep says with a grain of salt, they aren't the most knowledgeable bunch when it comes to releases like this

It is too bad that the carriers are holding this back by overcharging. I can understand 10 dollars a month for my iPad, but they will not get 10 dollars a month for a watch from me. I will buy the GPS version.

My iPhone AT&T account is managed by my company. Does this mean I’ll need to convince my manager to allow another $10 per month to my bill?

That's the big question. My iPhone 7 is company-owned and paid through our enterprise agreement with Verizon. I know for a fact that our current agreement doesn't address wearables (just phones and fleet mobile hotspots). (I have a personal Verizon account for my wife and two teenagers.)

Like most of these launches there is mixed messaging, incomplete details, and poorly trained staff. I suspect we won't know how this will work with any carrier and enterprise customers until there is a device in-hand and either it works or run into a brickwall with account provisioning. I'll preorder the LTE model either way and 'eventually' figure out a workaround if enterprise accounts are excluded. But if Verizon wants my money they better figure out how to make this painless.

If this is true, that isn't bad at all. But do I really need LTE on my Apple Watch? Not really.
I don't either, but it would be a huge convenience for my wife. She's a campus operation manager at a university and is always on the go. She could leave her phone on her desk.

did anyone end up ordering a new watch?
I logged in to my ATT account and they are allowing you to spread the cost of the watch into 20 installments, waiving the "activation" fee and giving free shipping.

I ordered a 42mm stainless in black. Actually I ordered one from Apple, and then saw that Verizon is giving free activation and the first 3 months free if you order thru them so I ordered another thru Verizon. They both are still saying 9/22 delivery so I'm going to cancel the Apple order.

I'm probably going to cancel my iPad service to offset the cost. I really don't use the iPad on LTE very often, I will just add it back on the months I think I'm going to need it instead of paying year round like I have been. My internet was really bad at home so it was handy having LTE service on it, but I switched WISP providers about a year ago and my new service has been much more reliable so I don't need it as often.

I just spoke with a T-Mobile representative 10 minutes ago who advised the fee will be $25.00!

Apple today unveiled the Apple Watch Series 3, which is the first Apple Watch model that includes an LTE chip for standalone cellular service on the device. Neither carriers nor Apple are offering information on what we can expect as far as pricing for connectivity goes, but a report from TheStreet sheds some light on what carriers are planning to charge on a monthly basis for the LTE Apple Watch in the United States.

AT&T plans to charge $10 per month to add an Apple Watch to an existing service plan while Verizon will also charge $10 per month after offering customers three free months of service.

Sprint and T-Mobile both plan to support the LTE Apple Watch, but have not provided details on how much it will cost per month. With AT&T and Verizon charging $10, pricing could be similar at Sprint and T-Mobile.

Because the Apple Watch and the iPhone share a phone number, both devices must use the same carrier for connectivity.

The LTE Apple Watch will be available in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and China, with Apple offering a list of supported carriers in each country on its website.

Pricing on the new LTE Apple Watch starts at $399 in the United States for the 38mm Aluminum model. Non-LTE versions are also available, with pricing on those models starting at $329. The Series 3 Apple Watch will be available for pre-order on September 15, with orders arriving on September 22, the official launch date of the device.

Update: T-Mobile also plans to charge $10 per month for the Apple Watch Series 3, and like Verizon, will offer three months of free service before charges kick in.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if T-Mobile lets you add the watch for free.
Nope! 25.00 per month
