Noticing a similar issue on AT&T with an iphone 7+ vs an iphone 6. In field test mode in the same location, both fully charged, the iphone 6 is 1 dot and about 30 points better on reception than the iphone 7+. -68 vs -96 if anyone cares for the actual numbers (closer to 0 the better, but closer to -50 is really what you're shooting for.) Hoping its a software / carrier issue and not a hardware issue as I like the phone a lot.

Has anyone seen this video.

Yea. That would be my experience as well. iPhone 7, 25.1, 128GB, VZW, reliably shows No Service along the Cape Cod Canal (Massachusetts) and along a couple of other roads. iPhone 5, also on VZW, shows 3 bars.

Thought it was a problem with the phone. Apple was kind enough to swap it for a new one.

it wasn't the phone (or more accurately, that particular phone). New phone shows exactly the same dropouts at the same places, while the 5 shows full service. Phones are side by side.

Major bummer.

That.

I'm not ecstatic about the 7. It's faster than my 6, but if it doesn't work as a phone, that's a drawback. :(

Sorry to hear that. That's not good. :(

Hopefully they will have this fixed by the time mine shows up. They certainly are taking their sweet time, however, and thus far, VZW and Apple have yet to acknowledge it to the best of my knowledge. Best everyone can do is to keep reporting it to Apple and VZW.

Whatever the problem is, I hope they find a solution and put out an update soon. I've seen 3G more in the last 2 weeks more than I did in a year with my 6S. As for the iOS 10 suggestion...definitely not saying for sure it's not the culprit, but I did the beta with my 6S and did not have the issue.

I noticed that I had less bars on my iPhone 7 plus than I had on my iPhone 6. On a different website I read that it may have to do with enabling LTE over voice and data. If you go to settings--> cellular--> cellular data options--> enable LTE, you may see that voice &data is selected. I then checked my iPhone 6 I noticed that only data was selected. On my iPhone 7 plus I then deselected voice & data and just selected data and I noticed that I then had more bars. Upon reselecting voice & data my iPhone 7 I still had the increased number of bars for a bit but it ultimately went back down to what it was before.

Hi All,

I have a new 128gb Matte Black 7 on Verizon. Phone is great, love it so far. But I have noticed 3 things giving me pause.

1) I am not getting LTE reception in areas I used to have no issue in.
2) When browsing on LTE the back of the phone gets hot
3) I seem to have less bars than with the 6s, but cannot prove it.

I was kind of expecting the opposite with the new chip. Is anybody else noticing this?

Please sign this petition and share it with others maybe this will help verizon acknowledge our issues

my matte black iphone 7 has been going in and out of service and has definitely had WORSE LTE than any of my previous iphones.

I took it to apple and they swapped it out but told me I wont be able to do it again if the phone still malfunctions. They said its more than likely a software issue.

Low and behold on the way home from the apple store the phone went out of service again.

SMH so ticked off about this

update: so I switched my Plus back to my weaker (of two) service when at home. originally, when I first had the Plus, it was unusable (compared to my previous iPhones). something about the last couple of Betas (currently on Beta 3) has my signal strength back up to normal.

Hello,

I have recently gotten a new iPhone 7 256gb jet black. I have noticed that the signal is weaker as well. But I can prove it for sure. If you go to your phone dialer and type *3001#12345*# and make the call it will take you to your network background setting. When you get there you will notice that now instead of the dots to indicate your signal strength, you will see a numerical value. It will range somewhere between -115 and -80. The higher the number the greater the signal strength. So, -80 is the same as full signal and -115 is next to no bars.

Now if you don't have both phones to compare, you won't be able to really see the difference. But I have both phones right now since I just upgraded and haven't sent my 6a back yet. And the difference is pretty sad. It is usually a 30dB difference between the two. With the new iPhone 7 falling tremendously behind.

I have to say that I am extremely sad about this. Message back if you need any help.

I'm not trying to be rude but it's actually the following:

*3001#12345#*
