Since I did it, I have yet to drop the network all day. No 3G, no "no service". Coincidence? I don't know but I haven't had the issue since toggling that setting off and on again.
i have the same behavior. Turn off voice lte since yesterday and re-enable lte voice this afternoon , and my signal has not drop to 3g or x1 or no service. Will
keep monitoring it

Eh I noticed now it goes to one dot of LTE and then comes to a halt. Need to toggle airplane mode and it immediately jumps back to 3 dots of LTE. I guess the underlying issue remains, however I have yet to see the "no service" issue.

The reception on my 7 is definitely not better than my 6 was in the same spots. Unless the network issues are what's hindering it.
so this isn't on Verizon (though is a Verizon version), but maybe food for thought...

yet, my SE is still moving along more quickly than my 7 Plus for emails (native app), iMessage, Tapatalk, Safari and some other various third-party apps.

even with the faster speeds (yes, different networks but never was an issue with my other iPhones), my 7 Plus still manages to hang for tasks that requires cellular data, such as...

iMessage updates promptly on my SE on MetroPCS with weak signal/slow speeds, and lags on my 7 Plus on Sprint with better signal/faster speeds.

Wow, I'm seeing it's dead on 2 dots of LTE too in spots.

I think overall, the 7 and 7+ have poorer reception than the 6/6S. How sad. Sounds like a step backwards.

I don't really have a problem with LTE speed but when talking to anyone they all tell me the call sounds muffled and its very hard for them to understand me.

back in same boat as before. I will try just LTE data only for now to see if that helps b/c the data + voice didn't hold :( I suppose I should just try to get the phone swapped out but honestly I've been really happy with the phone except for its ability to work... as... a... phone.

I've been having the same issue, signal freeze at 1 LTE dot, then loses LTE, stays on 3G unless I toggle airplane mode on/off, toggling LTE settings doesn't even work at all even though on my 6S, if I need to reset LTE signals, that would've worked.

And this never happened with my work VZW iPhone6 in the same time and place.

Resetting network settings also didn't improve it at all.

If this continues, I'm returning the phone before my 14 days expires.

Hey guys. Having similar problems with my ip7+. Troubleshooted with tech support last night for an hour. Tried changing the SIM. Tried toggling advanced calling on and off etc. Had no problems with my iPhone 6s. You guys that are talking here need to call Verizon and file a report. When I told him others were having similar problems with the new phones, he said he found no such issues in their internal databases. They won't fix it unless you call in. I don't think it's a phone issue. I think the carrier settings are the problem in the new device.

Btw I also have a 4G LTE network extender in my house and since the new iPhone, the iPhone behaves crazy. It'll connect to the extender, then drop it and eventually back on and cycles like this endlessly. I had to unplug my network extender and just use Wi-Fi calling for now.

If they don't fix it I will be sending my phone back and getting a new one as a last resort.

LTE is terrible for me as well on my 7. I have T-Mo but my family and their 6S+'s all have decent service. Battery gets hot too. When I plugged my phone in after I let the battery die yesterday I got the iTunes restore screen. Definitely something screwy going on with some devices.

[doublepost=1474463081][/doublepost]im having same issue on verizon Im in north NJ I havent seen 3g is years now im bouncing to 3g all the time got new sim then swapped out the phone and still getting the same issue Im hoping its just the carrier settings

When I have service it's fine, including LTE. But I am also suffering from the random service drop. It just goes out then comes back on and gets stuck on 3G. It's mildly infuriating. It seems to be when the phone is loading something (instagram, website, etc). Verizon service, btw

Same here. Neither of our 2 iPhone 7 phones will stay connected to the Verizon 4G LTE network extender. No issues with our previous iPhone 6S phones. I've also unplugged the extender for now.

I have filed a report on that specific issue as well. Supposed to get a call back within 48 hours. Also didn't have a problem with the 6s and the same network extender... so it's a 7 issue... and I'm hoping just a software issue on the 7 instead of a faulty phone. The fact a lot of us are experiencing the same thing points less to a hardware issue and more likely software.

I spoke with a knowledgeable and very helpful tech at Verizon and he found an internal issue tracking number where Verizon is documenting and collecting examples of this issue. He read through the log and said that the notes indicate that they are working with Apple and will most likely issue a carrier update to fix the problem. No ETA as of yet that he could communicate.

If you are experiencing frequent signal dropouts specifically with the iPhone 7 (where you had no issue prior to upgrading to the iPhone 7), you may wish to call Verizon technical support (ask for tier 2 support) and reference issue tracking number 102095-091716. The more examples they have, the better!

I've had people tell me the same thing for a year now with my 6. Callers can only hear my when I use speakerphone. I haven't been able to figure out what the actual problem is.

I don't know anything about carrier software but I just checked my 6 and I'm on Verizon 23.1 with no pending updates. Still waiting for my 7 to ship. I might throw both phones off a cliff if callers still can't hear me.

Hi All,

I have a new 128gb Matte Black 7 on Verizon. Phone is great, love it so far. But I have noticed 3 things giving me pause.

1) I am not getting LTE reception in areas I used to have no issue in.
2) When browsing on LTE the back of the phone gets hot
3) I seem to have less bars than with the 6s, but cannot prove it.

I was kind of expecting the opposite with the new chip. Is anybody else noticing this?

NO issues for me, actually seems faster =P

Verizon User, 128GB 7+.

I get random disconnects from LTE (dumps me to 3G), and it takes a while to get back on to LTE unless I do airplane mode to toggle. I haven't tried disabling Voice LTE, but it seems it doesn't work.

-edit- I also feel like I'm getting worse reception
