What is the SAR of the new iPhone 6S ?

I would assume it to be pretty much on par with the iPhone 6. What does perplex me a bit is why iPhones generally have such a high SAR value. Might be the trade-off of increasing output to compensate for the metal enclosure.

Anywho, since most people use headsets or generally just text and browse the web, the importance of SAR isn't as critical as it used to be given how we use phones differently nowadays. I'm not advocating for a higher amount though.

Wish people would get over the vertical video crap.

Its a test video - its easier to just load up camera and shoot rather than rotate or even turn off rotation lock to turn it. No one died. This isn't a professional video.

Get over it sheesh.

Your moaning is worse than the vertical videos.
Your horse awaits, Sir White Knight.

Quick! Put a case over it! As if the entire 6 series wasn't already ugly enough, marred by those atrocious white antenna lines, but on the rose gold, it's just sickening. It's astounding to think that the person responsible for this exercise in aesthetic ugliness is also capable of designing something as beautiful as the iPhone 5.

People need to lighten up. These are phone cameral pictures. They will NEVER be comparable to a dedicated camera. An earlier poster was actually trying to compare these photos to a dedicated high end camera. So ridiculous.

The full resolution photos are pretty good though the subjects leave something to be desired. The detail of the cushion texture is quite good. The dog looks a little soft but could have been moving. Am concerned about the blowout on the top of his head.

Video looks fine for what it is.

The first two pictures shown (dog with iPhone box and phone on laptop) were not even taken with the 6s and are lousy shots.

My 5 takes a decent shot but the 6S+ will definitley be quite a step up. I always post-process any worthwhile photo anyways (whether taken with a phone or camera) so I'm not put off by these full resolution photos or comments at all. Lookng forward to Friday!

I dunno - these ones look pretty good if you ask me. Taken with 6S+

I think the better question is who cares? The review embargo is probably going to be lifted tonight, we're only hours before the flood of reviews anyway.

Yep. No disrespect to the user but we'll see better camera tests in the upcoming reviews. If they still look like the photos we've seen today, then we can worry!!

I'm not worried. I've seen a few professional pictures taken with the 6s and they look stunning.

EDIT: the post above are the photos I'm referring too.

True rose-gold, such as the applewatch is very attractive. This on the phone is just champagne pink! Not even close to rose-gold. Don't care for it myself but different things for different people, I wont dis' those that chose it.

The antenna bands don't bother me at all. I just see them as part of the visual design that breaks up that huge expanse of an otherwise plain back. Majority of people use cases anyways.

Completely Agree! I was going to upgrade my 5S to the 6S but after learning it's still as ugly as the 6 with those unbelievably unsightly antenna lines and protruding camera lens even after the multiple hints and negative feedback given by numerous reviewers I have decided to give it a miss! And then there's the step backwards in profile and weight... One could of course put a case on the phone but it dawned on me that I would be paying £700, nearly the cost of a bloody MacBook, for a heavier and thicker phone that has to be put in a case to hide its ugliness o_O Hopefully Apple do a better job with the iPhone 7.

An iPhone 6C would look really nice in my opinion!

Edit: Just thought I would add that on the flip side, the progress made on mobile chips by Apple is astonishing! The horse power of this A9 is remarkable! Just when I thought they had topped their game with the A8X... And we haven't even seen what the A9X can do yet. So I'm not knocking Apple, in fact on the contrary, I really like Apple and am heavily invested in there ecosystem, just don't like those antenna lines :p

And just for the record, Yes I do have OCD, or maybe it's just an intolerance to ugly technology! Especially ugly technology that's the most expensive in its class.

So happy we have people like you to guide the unwashed masses in what is right, good, or attractive. I'll take my bipolar over your OCD any day.

I'm excited for her. It's funny to think about all the people on here and reddit that told her she wouldn't get her iphone early. Then what happens? Yep.

I can't really tell, but how do the sample videos and pics look to you guys? Huge improvement over the 6?

Thanks for the kind words. And just FYI, most of the mainstream reviewers and media picked up on how ugly the antenna lines were, so it's not just my opinion, it's the majority opinion! Sorry to burst your bubble, but I am only one of thousands of people that say the exact same thing! Quite regularly on these very forums I might add...

Wow so people are trashing the camera without having read one actual review of the phone yet?
The pictures are great, if you're not a pixel peeping camera nerd :p Zoom in a bit and you'll see all the fuzzy details. What was shocking to me is Apple allowed that wide shot of the MLB scoreboard to be posted (hop over to 9to5 for a look). That is a horrendous photo, completely devoid of any details without even zooming in, just imagine how bad the full-resolution picture will look.

But guess what, I stopped pixel-peeping and got over it. I take far more photos with my iPhone 6 than my 4 cameras (Sony A6000, RX10, RX100M4, and Canon S120) combined. Can't blame the camera nerds, one must always pixel-peep on new gears :D

It gets that with 2 cores. The Samsung gets it with 8. The A9 is the king since it achieves pretty much the same performance with 1/4th of the cores.
since iphone 5s could be the king in the multiscore as well in those days...iphone 6s is not, only in single core
4200 is less than 4700 or even 5200

I have my phone in a silicon case so I never see the antenna bands. The 6 is not my favorite aesthetic design but it is my favorite in terms of how it feels in the hand. I'm not sure why people are still getting so angry over this....it's well known Apple changes its case design every two years.

Having said that, I'm definitely not going to base my impressions of the camera on those photos she added, because ... and I hate to say this, but "she's photographing wrong".

That's actually incorrect. The reason you are seeing less than great image quality here is because the images were taken indoors, in low light, at ISO 800. In these conditions, yes, a smartphone camera will reveal higher noise and reduced dynamic range, given its tiny sensor.

However if the images had been taken in better lighting, even an expert would have difficulty telling them apart from a dedicated camera.

I kind of dig on the antennae lines - I like "visible functionality" worked into the design.
It's not just the antenna lines, though they're a part of it. The 5 series is so jewel-like and multi-faceted, with the chamfered edges, the two-tone glossy/matte back. There was a lot to behold. It's strikingly beautiful. I refuse to put mine in a case because even after all this while with it, I still love looking at it and I just can't bring myself to buy the 6 series. The 6 series is just a boring smooth slab that looks like every other device out there; the only thing that catches your eye on it are those unsightly antenna lines. Rumor is that Apple is developing a new metal that would eliminate the need for antenna lines, and if the 7 turns out to be similar to the 6, still a smooth slab just w/o antenna lines, I'd be disappointed. I guess it would be okay in the same way that the iPad is okay--it's nothing to look at, but you're going to put it in a case anyway so who cares?
