I've never thought iphone camers were good, every shoot, even in bright sun looks overprocessed and just plain muddy and I've had almost every iphone since the original. Having said that, I have been shooting DSLRs for just as long so I recognize I am biased and the tiny phone camera will never compare. I havent shot with a standard point-and-shoot camera for awhile but from what I remember, I was surprised that I found the P&S quality to be of similar quality, so from that perspective, the iphone shots are pretty decent.

These are NOT posted at full resolution....the detail breaks down too quickly. She either sent them smaller, or MacRumors' site squashed them as they were posted. I know my 6 (and 5S)'s photos would have survived more than this one zoom level, so for sure a 6S would. Find a real photo test with proper uploading of full rez files and judge by that.

And my order status still says processing. I have not even received notice from UPS with tracking number. Starting to worry just a little. :(

After seeing these pictures of that Rose Gold iPhone 6s, I'm even more sure about getting one myself. Doesn't look as pink as people have been claiming. Love the color!

And that performance is just mind blowing. Didn't expect Apple to go this far without even a third core. I am a little worried about too much throttling since iPhone 6 was able to sustain performance over a longer period of time. Hope that this won't be different with the iPhone 6s. :p

What iOS version is pre installed ? Does force touch works well with 9.0 (if it is installed).

Casey Neistat got his hands on a 6s, and did a normal vlog with it. Nothing fantastic, scene wise...but, you get the idea still. What's amazing to me - if I didn't tell you he rigged up an external mic to a 6s, the audio/video looks identical to that of his daily videos...although he does touch up the colors a bit, so I suppose it's not a 100% fair comparison. But still.

Don't worry. Apple (with UPS) is amazing with deliveries. What they're not so good at is updating the status of the shipment. Have you tried UPS Track By Reference? The "reference" should be your phone number. I had to use my billing phone number to get my tracking number. BTW, my status said processing, but I was still able to get a UPS tracking #.

Visual designer Adrienne Alpern from San Diego, California is one of the first customers to receive the brand new iPhone 6s, nearly five whole days before the latest smartphone launches in the U.S. and eleven other countries.

Adrienne shared photos of the new iPhone 6s on her Twitter account on Monday afternoon, noting that her pre-order from AT&T arrived much earlier than expected. The all-new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus officially launch September 25.

Apple each year requests that couriers like UPS and FedEx hold new iPhone deliveries until the same day the smartphones become available in stores, but a few lucky customers often receive their devices ahead of time due to logistical error.

Adrienne also shared Geekbench 3 screenshots that show the iPhone 6s has a single-core score of 2292 and a multi-core score of 4293. The iPhone 6s is also benchmarked against several other iPhone and iPad models.

Additionally, she shared a short 4K video shot with the iPhone 6s.

iPhone pre-orders in the U.S. can be tracked with FlightAware and UPS.

Update: We've received full resolution images from Adrienne taken with the iPhone 6s.

I think I'm in love ;)

That's not surprising, Apple always beats the competition when a new phone is. The great part is the iPhone absolutely kills everything else in single core... But of course Android phones still chase core counts as if it matters.. lol.

The a9 is based off arms a72 instruction set and that is where the performance gains are coming from.

The edge and note 5 are using older arm a52 architecture that was out in the gs6.

The next gen arm a72 cores will also get these performance gains and a leaked exynos m1 that is going in the gs7 hit 2400 single core and 7600 muli score in geekbench

thanks. Just found my phone in China :)

Much happier now!

PS: it seems pointless try to shoot decent video on anything but the 6 Plus / 6S Plus with its optical image stabilization. If any feature makes smart-phone video usable it's IOS. The rest is just 'shaky cell phone video'.

I'm with you on the excellent quality of the "Cinematic Video Stabilization" (Apple's term). But the iPhone 6 Plus uses OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) only for photos, not for videos. It's practically the same like the iPhone 6, video-wise, no benefit (except the larger "viewfinder" maybe).

Wow... in an article in 9to5mac, it says: "In a single-core Geekbench test, the iPhone 6s scored a 2413, beating out the Retina iPad mini, iPad mini 3, and even the iPad Air 2. The multi-core score of the device was 4795."

https://browser.primatelabs.com/android-benchmarks

This beats the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (4391 multicore)!!! Incredible!!!
The link you just posted rates the S6 Edge at 4393. And where did you get the 4795? The story we are commenting on says 4293.

After making that post, it still somehow escapes you that this is a controlled Apple sponsored leak?

Apple Exec: "Normally it's the guy living in his parents basement who ends up getting it early and we get horrid demos."

Apple PR: "I have an idea. Why don't we just manufacture a controlled early leak to a girl who knows how to post benchmarks, has a "cute" dog, and flowers on hand to demo the 4k video and camera, and make it look like random chance"?

Apple: "Good idea! Most of our clueless customers won't even clue into that fact, no matter how obvious it is."

It's sure great that we still have people like you in this country who can't fathom that a woman might actually have a sense of technical aptitude. You make me sad. And your comment makes you look like a fool.

2: ISO 800
3: ISO 320
4: ISO 200

These are not what I'd call lowlight shots. Yet even the ISO 200 shot looks grainy, and lacks fine detail.

Apple should have higher standards.

For comparison, here is an image at ISO 320 from my 5s.

Mine looks good for what it is.

I'm so envious! She has a cute puppy and she got her iPhone early! Lucky lady. I think she did a good job with an impromptu introduction to it. She apparently isn't a reviewer or pro blogger, at least not with product review experience so I don't fault her for the vertical videos or less than optimal indoor photos. She's world's better than my family members who have the disconcerting habit of decapitating subjects with poor camera angles. My sister-in-law apparently has never shot a photo that was in focus or properly centered if her Instagram and FB photos are anything to go by.

I know what I'm doing yet even I get stuck with crappy indoor lighting, desperately trying to get a cute snap of the pets or the kids. So I actually appreciate seeing pics shot the way these things normally happen for us when we are in the kitchen trying to cook pasta and the kids and pets do something adorable and you're lucky the iPhone is there so you can scramble and get one photo of it before they all run off and the pasta boils over.

At any rate when I first saw her good luck and her cute dog, I did turn green and this was my thought:

OIS for videos is iPhone 6s Plus only. And there is no image stabilization (at all) for 4K videos on iPhone 6s (digital/Cinematic Stabilization for 1080p60 only). Other than that: 4K video supports only 30 frames per second and obviously it's merely interlaced (and not progressive like the 1080p60).
