Lunatik TakTik Extreme "REAL" iPhone 5 case has arrived today.

Yes, the red part is at the bottom. It is metal that plugs into the rubber and covers the headphone port.
It wouldn't matter because the inner lip isn't flush and literally covers the front edges of the phone.
Bottom line, I personally love this case! Everything is a trade off, but this case feels natural. Even though it is larger than the iPhone 5, the protection it offers is great. Makes the iPhone feel like a different phone without a case. Integration is perfect. No regrets on this one.
Can you take some size comparison pics with the OB? I have the Defender as well and am unhappy with the bulk and unresponsive screen cover. Thanks.
It makes the iPhone longer in length, but it's not thicker which seems to be his concern.
Thickness is my primary concern, along with the crummy screen. A little extra width and length isn't a big deal, may actually make it easier to grasp.
Right there. It looks like the lunatik's camera/LED flash holes are switched compared to the Fre.
Can you check?
Yes, the TakTik has the larger hole over the flash where the Fre has the larger hole over the camera.
Great info but a butt fugly case IMHO. IF I needed uber protection I would probably go for something like this over say an otterbox but I'm sure glad I don't need that type of protection.
It's pretty thin actually probably as thin or thinner than the commuter. The glass screen is excellent and very responsive as well. I had the otterbox defender and I had to pole the screen protector out cause it was that bad and made typing unresponsive
I just got my Taktik extreme today. It's a great case but the only thing that I dislike is the power button is a pain in the ass to press. You have to dig your finger nails in before you can press the button.

A buddy of mine also has the same issue with the camera cutout.
I'm also having an issue with the silencer switch where I can't even press switch because it sits so flush on both sides

Rainbow Effect
I have an absolutely terrible rainbow effect on my taktik 5 extreme. cleaned both the phone and the gorilla glass on the case many a time now with alcohol swabs and it just will not go away. Also the glue on the gorilla glass has some terrible residue all on the back side of it that can be seen around the ear speaker mesh. TBH i was rather dissapointed, but if anyone knows what to do about this rainbow effect then let me know because this is rlly getting on my nerves.
