My prayers have been answered! I flat out refused to buy a Koenigsegg without CarPlay support. Warp speed be damned. Now I can go 0-250 in 20 seconds while using Siri. My life is complete.

Time to call the Top Gear guys! The UK guys, not US.

Might need to extend the board of they put another Koenigsegg round the track...

Called the Regera, which translates to "to reign" in Swedish, the car can go from 0 to 250 miles per hour within 20 seconds, and it tops out at a speed of 255 miles per hour.
Maybe someone who knows cars better can help me out. How can it go 250 mph if it tops out at 225?

Never thought I'd see a Koenigsegg on this site. The Agera is still my favorite, though.

This car is seriously insane!

I found a short video from todays Auto Show in Geneva of the interior, giving a short glimpse of CarPlay on the 9 inch system.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cr0igLif7mE

Notice that it says "Powered by Neonode" in one of the screens. This 9 inch system actually looks great, and seems to be similar or the same to the one used in the new 2016 Volvo XC90 SUV.

Edit: Read the press release, how about that endorsement of the touchscreen tech from the Koenigsegg CEO:

"We only work with the highest performing systems on the market and chose the Neonode zForce touchscreen because of the superior touch performance and optical properties it enables”, says Christian von Koenigsegg , Founder and CEO of Koenigsegg.

System looks really cool and the car is a transformer supercar? Please Santa Claus. :)

Ehh, please don't tell me you're required to use a touch screen to change the AC temperature and fans.

Hey great, I can get carplay in a $2M vehicle that nobody can afford!!

Jesus, even my Tesla Model S can't do Carplay and it's software updatable. Until we see more companies get on board with this stuff media systems in car will continue to suck.

Must be a slow newsday at Macrumors....

Back to reality.

One motor replaces the standard transmission with the Koenigsegg Direct Drive system, and there's a motor dedicated to each rear wheel.

This isn't quite right. One electric motor is mounted on the crankshaft in front of the ICE. The other two are on the rear axle. All three electric motors operating in conjunction deliver variable torque such that no conventional gearbox is required. It's an interesting concept but I'd hate to find out what happens if one of those motors fails at 240 MPH.

CvK is a car guy's car guy. What he does in that tiny shop is amazing. From the original CC to the Bugatti murdering Agera R, on to the blistering One:1 and now this. If CvK had the financial backing of a Ferrari (La Ferrari), Porsche (918) or McLaren (P1) there's no telling what this guy would come up with.

CarPlay support. That should help move these.

Maybe you could just ask Siri to change it.

Outstanding post. I'm kind of not into the whole "hyper car" thing, but any automative enthusiast has to be a fan of what Christian von Koenigsegg does with his available resources, how he does it, his design vision, unique engineering, etc.

Thanks for saying this. Although, this is MR so I think they can be forgiven for their faux pas. For all the tech and interesting concepts in the Regera it's the CarPlay support that brought it to the attention of site.

If one of the motors fail at 240 MPH it will probably slow the car considerably.:) If one of those hollow carbon fiber wheels fails
Drivetrain for anyone interested.
