It helps if you read the number properly. It's 255, not 225.

How quickly can it go 0-60?

They say 2.7 seconds. They can't go any faster because of traction. 1800 horsepower through the rear wheels only is quite a bit.

It would take about 10 Siri requests to do the job of turning one knob up to the desired value. Also, turning a knob is much less distracting than talking to Siri.

Yeah, I am also interested in how they have solved this. I am sure they have thought about it though. Perhaps the AC temp/fans can be controlled from the steering wheel.

I usually dont have much luck with getting Siri to understand me, however this Apple representative seems to get Siri to understand him very well in a similar system. The "Sensus" 9 inch system used in the also newly released 2016 Volvo XC90 SUV, here they are demonstrating CarPlay via Siri:

Now i see where GTA got this model from :D

Ehh, please don't tell me you're required to use a touch screen to change the AC temperature and fans.

Isn't that what Siri's for?

For $1.89 million, Siri better be a real live person sitting in the passenger seat...

Too bad there's not a single road in the U.S. worth driving this car on.
Most people don't know how to drive around here; with those changing lanes without looking around, it would be a sure accident.

Whilst this is great news, and frankly an excuse to oggle some car pornogaphy! I would LOVE to nail this and experience that 20 seconds to 248mph acceleration!!!

It's a tad pointless as what cars offer car play that normal people buy? Aren't Audi supposed to be offering it? I'm not sure..

meh who cares, this car is the mutts bits, those Swedes are utterly mad! Oh and FYI they are calling this a megacar, as it frankly thrashes ANY hyper car on the market by quite a margin.. on paper at least.

I think I have more chance of buying a Kinderegg with CarPlay support for the little plastic toy inside.

The important part...what is the price tag?
Let's use how many iPhone 6 plus 128GB does it equal to, just to reduce the number, shall we?

Thanks for saying this. Although, this is MR so I think they can be forgiven for their faux pas. For all the tech and interesting concepts in the Regera it's the CarPlay support that brought it to the attention of site.

If one of the motors fail at 240 MPH it will probably slow the car considerably.:) If one of those hollow carbon fiber wheels fails
Drivetrain for anyone interested.

It took me all of five minutes to find out how the system actually works. Just another day on MR. Sigh.

My guess is that the entire motor system would need to shut down pretty quickly if one motor failed, since it lacks any kind of slip so all that energy would be transferred instantly to the other motors. Dunno really. The physics is way above my level.

Who buys this stuff? I don't think I've ever heard of this manufacturer before.

I guess people who aren't on MR and asking questions like yours ;) Koenigsegg belong to that small circle of 'non plus ultra' car manufacturers (all hand build) to cater for an audience that never ask for a sticker price. I bet those 80 cars are sold out all ready.

2.8 seconds from standstill to 60... bet your surprised at that hey? I think we have reached the limits with current standard tyres as that will be the limiting factor, after that aerodynamics will take over and you get the other silly accelerations then like the 20 seconds to 248mph.

only 8-bits?

> and it tops out at a speed of 255 miles per hour.

They couldn't throw in the 16-bit speed controller?
