Hey all,

I ordered my M1 Air (upgraded, 16GB/1TB) on November 18 with an estimated arrival date of December 4-11. It's now December 7 and not a peep from Apple on shipping.

Wondering if anybody else in or around this window has either seen theirs ship or gotten a delay notification from Apple. Reading reports that some upgraded 13" M1 MacBook Pro orders already in have had their deliveries delayed into January... given that I'm sure the M1 SOC is the choke point I'm concerned about the same happening with the Airs.

I ended up cancelling my Air M1 order due to the length of time it kept bumping out. I will just wait now until the next version is ready...

I ordered my 8C/16G/512G MBA on 11/20 with an initial estimate of 12/15-21.
On 11/26, they sent an update, saying that it'd been delayed with a new estimate of 12/21-29.
On 12/2, the order suddenly went to Preparing to Ship.
On 12/3, the order shipped via FedEx from Shanghai to Oregon.
On 12/7, it's out for delivery by 12:00PM.

I thought the 8C/16G/1TB configuration had a faster lead time by about a week, so I'd have expected yours to ship first. How odd.

Wow, that's quite the whiplash.

I have the same 8C/16G SOC, so I'm hoping that's a good sign assuming the SOC is the bottleneck like I'm assuming (though I guess now I'm afraid it's the SSD). Hopefully I'll see a notification today or tomorrow since they haven't adjusted my delivery date yet.

//edit: looking at the previous commenter's tagline, I wonder if you got his machine! ?

What config and when did you order? Curious what your initial estimate was and what it was bumped out to, especially in the context of the comment right after yours.

//edit: saw the config in your tagline just now. Still curious on the dates though.

My original configuration was the MBA M1 16/512. I was originally estimated the week of Thanksgiving, then it went to the 2nd week of Dec, then it went to the end of Dec.

I ordered an M1 8 core 16GB/1TB on 11/16 with a delivery estimate of 12/2-12/9.

It's now 12/8 and it's still in Order in Progress. No updates at all from Apple.

I called them and the person said they'll submit a "delivery investigation", and if still not delivered on Friday, to call back.

Yeah, starting to see more reports of orders not moving. The common denominator appears to be the 1TB SSD, and not the M1. Hopefully those get moving soon. In the meantime... good thing my late 2013 13" is such a tank.

I'm still using my mid 2014 MBP but the battery only lasts 2.5 - 3 hours these days. It's the main reason that I'm upgrading.

Also, the 1TB SSD is ticking me off if it's really the common denominator. The only reason I need it is because of my wife's giant Photo library. I have a NAS that I can keep things in so 1TB would not have been necessary if Photos didnt have a file corruption issue if the db is stored on a network drive.

I look around for solutions once in a while but haven't found a solid one yet. We do have a 2TB icloud account but I don't want to have her photos with only one copy on icloud.

I placed my order on the same day as you (November 18th) for the 16gb/256gb configuration. I was originally quoted the December 11-18th estimated delivery date. I received the computer yesterday, December 7th.

I just realized you ordered 2 days after I did with the same config, assuming you did the 8 core, but you have an earlier delivery window.

Hmm? You said your window was 12/2-12/9, mine is 12/4-12/11.

Interesting. FWIW, I'm considering buying a base model and none of the colors are available at an Apple store within a 90 mile radius of my ZIP (there are 12 stores in all). So either demand for these is through the roof, or there's a supply issue. I have a feeling it's the former.

I ordered the same configuration as you on November 15. At that time, expected delivery was between Dec 9 & 15. Actual delivery was December 1.

Sorry yours is delayed.
