I ordered at 9am picked up at 12pm yesterday, base M1 air from local Harvey Norman, Apple date here is 11th Jan lol. Got a 10% discount too, seems ridiculous the big retailers here in Australia are getting them and Apple have a 1 month wait.

Not sure its a 1TB SSD problem. My MBA 16GB/1TB ordered on 26th November arriving Monday 14th December, Mac Mini 16GB/1TB ordered at the same time shipped and should arrive by Friday 18th December.

Ordered a Macbook Air (16G/1TB/Space Gray) on 11/12. The initial delivery estimate was Dec. 7-10. I just checked the order and now it's Jan. 7-14. No emails from Apple about the delay. I'm kicking myself because the day I placed the order, the Naperville store had them in stock. I was working quite a distance and decided to wait to prep my trade-in.
they have Macbook Air (16G/1TB/Space Gray) in store for pickup on 11/12?

guess it's the shortage of m1 chip due to production problem

8/16G/1TB/Gold ordered Nov 24.

Today Apple sent email "Shipment is on its way" with delivery Dec 21.

Carrier tracking status is currently "Package is delayed in transit. Delivery will be rescheduled. : Shanghai, China

I'll update when delivery progress becomes more certain.

Update Dec 13: status has changed to "Export Scan: Shanghai, China" -- delivery expected Dec 17

Update Dec 14: "In transit, Osaka, Japan" -- delivery expected Dec 16

Update Dec 16: Shipment spent two days in Osaka, is now in Narita -- delivery expected Dec 18

Update Dec 17: "Departed, Narita, Japan" -- delivery expected Dec 21

Update Dec 17: Arrived and departed Anchorage, AK -- delivery expected Dec 21

Update Dec 17: Import scan Louisville, KY -- delivery expected Dec 18

Final update Dec 18: delivered before noon

I suppose aircraft with longer range fly direct from Shanghai to Alaska for transfer and thus overall shorter delivery time, whereas aircraft with shorter range make the hop from Shanghai to Osaka, shipment gets unloaded, shuttles to Narita, then catches a long-haul flight to Alaska. The logistics for getting massive numbers of devices out of China and into the U.S are something I take for granted, and probably shouldn't ;)

Definitely!
My specs were MBA/16 ram/256 gb
I wonder if the 1TB is your hold up?
Maybe. Who knows. It’s in Japan right now so it moved at least.

Edit: dec 17. Received m1 MacBook Air. Ordered nov 28th. Commitment date was the 21st of December.

I've posted pretty much exactly the same thing in the M1 forums, but I thought this thread was probably a good place to post the same thing.

Ordered: December 2nd 1 am ish
Card Charged: December 14th a bit before 1 am ish
Preparing to Ship: December 14th 1 am ish

I can't find anything on UPS or Fedex like people were saying with my phone number. Are there any links to use to search via phone number? The apps currently don't show anything being shipped to my address.

Ordered the following on 3rd December. Estimate Ship was 30 Dec-8 Jan but now it's 7th-14th Jan.

13-inch MacBook Air - Space Grey
Apple M1 chip with 8‑core CPU, 8‑core GPU and 16‑core Neural Engine
16GB unified memory
1TB SSD storage

It should show up in ups if you have ups my delivery or whatever it’s called set up. I actually got an email from apple saying it shipped and they gave the tracking info for me to click.

Mines out for delivery today by 9pm. Wth why not shoot for a 9pm delivery after all this time.☺️

Congratulations!!! Excelente! I ordered mine on 19 Nov. just got cleared at the custom, I live in NorCal and It's scheduled for delivery on 17 Dec.

Ordered my MBA (16GB/512GB/8GPU) on 12/1 with estimated arrival on 12/24. The FedEx tracking seemed a bit off. It showed going from China to Alaska but the days were out of order. Once in the US it had an arrival date of 12/18. Then it showed up yesterday 12/14. And like everyone else, so far I am loving it.

Weird that some of you had it go to Japan. Mine went from China to Alaska. It says it should be delivered tomorrow 12/16 here in Florida.

Timeline of order:
11/16 ordered an M1 8 core GPU 16GB/1TB with a delivery estimate of 12/2-12/9.
12/9 delivery window changed from 12/2-/12-9 to 1/6-1/13
12/11 marked as shipped from China and has a delivery date of 12/16

Horror story.

I ordered my M1 MacBook Air on November 20 with an estimated ship date of December 15-22. As of December 13 I hadn’t heard a thing, so I checked the Apple Store app. Lo and behold, the order was canceled. Very disingenuously, the order said, “You canceled this item on December 11.” Which is BS: I didn’t cancel anything. Apple canceled the order, for no apparent reason, with no email or notification and no explanation.

To make matters more confusing, at the very same time that they canceled my order, Apple created a second order, with the exact same order number, that said the computer would be delivering between December 15 and December 22.

Talk about weird.

So I called into Apple and eventually spoke to a senior rep. She clarified that the order was canceled as a result of a “backlog cancelation.“ I’ve literally never heard of this before, and it makes no sense considering that people in this very forum ordered after me and have had no issues.

But the rep said that it looked like Apple was still going to ship it in December, hence the duplicate order saying it was still shipping.

Now, for no apparent reason, the estimated delivery date for that order has been pushed back to the end of January. Specifically, I am being told that the computer won’t ship until January 18-25.

What the actual f*ck?

Config: 16GB memory, 2TB storage

Ordered a standard MacBook Air M1 in Space Grey December 1st. They can still reach it, but doubt that it will arrive on 17 Dec.
