Agree. And I’m sure on the larger size models the “pro’s” will get their space grey option.

also I don’t mind the chin At all. I think if you want a computer without a chin just get a Mac mini plus a nice screen.

EDIT : ninja’d on the chin comment
Because history is usually a pretty good guide to what we can expect to happen again in the future, my bet is that the iMac colors will change maybe once next year, then get narrowed down to the more muted and expected colors the following year, as the market shifts back to the basics. For the most part, Apple will get a ton of upgrader consumers with this 24” iMac range, and because they’ll last for ~5 years or more, the demand for continuing a color line has to drop significantly.

No you can't. If you want to VESA mount an iMac with a stand, Apple needs to replace the entire back panel. Apple hasn't made removable stands in iMac (except the Pro) in about a decade.

But, some 3rd parties may have a compatible solution soon. VIVO makes one for the 27" iMacs.

I DO NOT GET IT.
are they downsizing the iMac until it becomes an ipad or laptop?
smaller screen size. I was hoping for larger. certainly not smaller
colors? why? may appeal to a home decorator
speed. fine
Well, I always hope for larger and not smaller personally with men and machines....
but last I checked 24 inches was LARGER than 21.5 inches.

I bet you’re really fun at dinner parties. I really dig the new design, and am going to buy one. Colors are fun and not for any specific gender or age. It’s still a computer. If you hate it so much then…just don’t buy one?
Well, I work at a uni and have quite the influence on how we spend millions in Mac purchases every year.
Not that I would block purchases but when computer labs are to be replaced, iMac will not be on the list.
Colors can absolutely be fun, we’ve had several labs with iMac G3s in different colours, it was really cool. These colours are nowhere near as “popping” as the G3.
Not being able to adjust the screen means that iMacs will not be on the shopping list for a lot of people as it will not be ergonomically enough for long work hours.

Contrary to the popular opinion. Those iMacs look beautiful. I'm not going to buy one thou, I'm still waiting for that 15 inches MacBook Pro, M1X? 😅

A desktop where thinness was first priority. An automatic miss, based solely on principle.
Only from the perspective of an Apple novice, or an old die-hard. Apple pursuing thinness at the "expense" of functionality is nothing new.

Apple hinders themselves with design limitations to give us worse products and it's beyond annoying.
Yes, anger is rooted in disappointment. Disappointment is rooted in expectation. In this case, it is in dissonance with Apple's history of success when weighed against thinness complaints.

I hope sales are terrible, since it's likely the only feedback that really gets them to pay attention.
Your hopes will be crushed at the next revenue conference, when Apple reports record sales for the bazillionth consecutive year.

Although Apple does listen to feedback when the press presses them (ahem, butterfly keyboards), but even then it took four very long years for them to cave. And that was a functionality, not design issue.

So what you're saying is that the iMac was NEVER on the shopping list, as the adjustability of the screen has remained unchanged for the last SEVENTEEN YEARS.

That said, you can get them with a VESA adapter instead and use the mount of your choice.

The people ragging on the performance either are trolls or are completely out of touch with reality. The entry level iMac for $1,300 is the fastest single thread Mac ever and overall very competitive with much more expensive PCs. Or as some on this thread might say, "I guess it's ok, was expecting better".

I wish reviews were based on who the machine is for vs what the reviewer wants. Or maybe give it to the right person to review. A review from someone who wants an iMac Pro is useless because that’s not what this machine is meant to be.
EVERYONE is biased one way or another, so the only way to get a real sense of what the machine is like is from multiple sources.

This is the reason why I watch several reviews from different individuals, and I always include Linus Sebastian as the PC Skeptic.

I don't much care for joining the echo-chamber.
