Obviously, there's a lot of computing power, etc. with the iPad Pro 2, but really the only reason for wanting/needing a pro today is the option for a 12.9" screen. That's it.

Photo editing, 3D scanning/processing, etc. There’s a lot of real professional usage for the iPad out there that requires a lot of power, I think people here are just blindfolded by their particular use case. Which, for the average Macrumors poster, probably doesn’t match what the iPad Pro offers. It’s not that it’s better or worse, it’s just about different use cases. If it was just a Mac-wannabe, it wouldn’t be so successful.

ProRes was disabled on 128GB iPhone models. So it is possible on iPad models? This is f hilarious. 16GB on the most expensive models only? What. A. Ripoff.

Front camera is still on the portrait side on the Pros. The new base model has the camera on the landscape side.

This is the easiest skip in my life. I don't even have a pencil for my M1 Pro so all good there too.
So why exactly does this still run a crippled OS? Why is this not running a touch version of MacOS? where we can install regular MacOS Apps, use a Mouse and Keyboard, and all that jazz?

Totally agree. With landscape camera at the very least. Their base model iPad gets a feature that I would argue is professional in use with all the video conferencing happing in 2022.
The top end ships with 16 GB... the nearly top end (i.e., the 128, 256, and 512 GB models) should have 16 GB RAM too I agree. Or give the user the option to add an additional 8 GB of RAM for an extra $100 or something.
iPads are excellent, but iPadOS is just making these expensive chips worth nothing, they don't need that much power unless we get MacOS or a better iPadOS on the process
