Photo editing, 3D scanning/processing, etc. There’s a lot of real professional usage for the iPad out there that requires a lot of power, I think people here are just blindfolded by their particular use case. Which, for the average Macrumors poster, probably doesn’t match what the iPad Pro offers. It’s not that it’s better or worse, it’s just about different use cases. If it was just a Mac-wannabe, it wouldn’t be so successful.

For my humble needs the M! is more then enough processing power, never mind the M2. Still, I love the direction that the iPads are heading. I think the only thing that is holding them back is the OS. If they continue to improve the OS, the sky is the limit

Face ID only for the Pros.

Why do you think you need to upgrade yearly? This is for people with older iPads.

Who wants to have the old crap when there is newer stuff available?

Of course I generally want the newer stuff do actually have cool new stuff :)

Let's dial it back for a second: what value would an M3 bring to the iPad?

What do you do on a damn tablet to require more power than an M1 or A12X/Z?
iPads are excellent, but iPadOS is just making these expensive chips worth nothing, they don't need that much power unless we get MacOS or a better iPadOS on the process

You know what I want ... something that WOULD be a totally revolutionary device ?

A Mac Book Pro running MacOS when attached to the "base" and an iPad Pro running iPad OS when detaching the screen that can be used as a tablet

Now that would be a mind numbing kick ass device that I would buy instantly

but Apple can only think as high as the hover pencil :(

Was thinking of a deal on used 2021 1tb to upgrade from 2018 12.9 to get more ram and better screen. I wanted to wait and see what the 2022 offered, but doesn’t seem to be much. Do you think the 2021 is a worthwhile upgrade for me?
