As strong reviews start coming out and more people will be interested to buy M2 MBA so delays will be more later than initial weeks.

Just out of curiosity do we have any numbers how many 8Gb MB and MBAs Apple sells vs +16Gb? Because as much as the enthusiasts always bemoan about it starting with 8Gb, I recon that's plenty for most users and the sales numbers probably also reflect that.

Most people that bought the 8GB M1 end up having to buy another device with 16GB due to RAM deficiency so Apple is double dipping on sales. That's why they continue to push 8GB.

Shipping times haven’t changed much since this morning. Hopefully that means the supply chain issues are being sorted out.

Many consumers are swayed by the packaging and may want the M2 Air due to the new body and visual appearance. The M1 looks dated IMO, and $200 isn't too bad to get newer tech and a sexy new look.

If the M2 "looked" exactly like the M1, I agree, very little reason to upgrade for a "regular" (ie. non-forum reader) person. IMO.

Also, $200 isn't bad for what would theoretically be a more relevant machine, for longer, than the M1 MBA. 😉

I think they are producing these Macs for a long time. There was a rumor that these were supposed to shop earlier. They definitely took the time to pile up, because the demand will be high.

That may be right too. The more I thought about it, these are pretty standard custom conf ship times.

I wouldn’t be surprised if some stores have some 16/512 or 16/1TB models in stock next week. Probably not Midnight, but other colors.

might be because people don’t want to pay the tax And they haven’t experienced the problems of such small ram. 8 is fine for surfing and playing. Serious use and it bogs down. My M1 mini with 8gb is a joke for any serious use. Apple will never change their theiving ways

I ordered the bog standard 8gb/512mb model at 5:05 PST and got a date of July 18.

Trying to work (too) quickly I mistakenly forgot to select the Mag-Safe adapter and instead the order has the USB-2. II called to try to get it switched but told it's not possible without cancelling the order and going to the back of the line, which I didn't want to do. Any ideas about how I might be able to switch this?
What mag safe adapter. I thought it came with mag safe standard. confused.
