New M2 Pro Mini here - just 2 weeks old and Ethernet jack is toast. Randomly started cycling between enabled and disabled in Network Settings one day after a reboot without providing a connection. Tried different cables and different host ports, no change. Tried the same cable and host port on another device without issue.

None of the troubleshooting steps in this thread or elsewhere accomplished anything for me.

I'm getting by using a USB-C adapter for Ethernet while I wait for my Genius Bar appt.

update logic board and I/O wall both replaced under warranty - Mini working properly (knock on wood)

i dunno is this will help you , but I got a first Mac mini M2 pro with 10 gb version and I had an issue I never encountered before on my iMac 27 , it's that the Ethernet connexion would not work at rare times , safari would tell tell me that I'm offline and the weird thing is that on system pref Ethernet is showing a green dot , and Wifi was still working on other devices but not on the mini ( by the way it was a fresh install ) so I called Apple cos I found this weird that the wifi would not work on the Mac ...

Apple thought it was a faulty unit , so I got a second one , and same issue but less frequent , I got the 2nd Mac mini since 17 days and it happened 3 times, including this morning when I woke up no connexion ( im in France ) I have never seen this issue on a Mac, I use the 10 Gb port( with a 2,5 Gb real connection ) and I've changed the ethernet cable twice for a new one...

I use Little Snitch to monitor the traffic and the interesting thing when this happens is that I can see some kb/s are passing both ways despite safari doesn't see any connexion and apps that needs internet don't work, I've added an attachment for you to noticed what is happening .

But I'm not a pro of the terminal so I dunno what do test when this happens , and I for sure cannot wrap my head around why the wifi who works on all other machines seems stuck too when this occurs... so weird.. I tried the solution of cyberpunk_ber , I will hit you is this changes something, but i'lm not sure we have the same issue , cos mine occurred only 3 times in 17 days ... the rest of the time I have no pb with the Mac mini.
Regards. ( sorry if my English isn't perfect it's not my mother tongue )

I am really annoyed with the transfer speeds I'm getting with a 10-gigabit NIC!! I paid extra for faster networking but it's taking a 98GB file over 10 hours to transfer!!! This is unacceptable, Apple needs to fix this issue ASAP.

To be clear, I am using Mac Mini M2 Pro 12/19c MacOS Ventura 13.4 with Cat7, a Unifi 10gig router, and 10gig server connections. The same network hardware works like a dream on my Windows machine.

Yes. Chatted with Apple support and manually did the latest update. When booted got this

never saw that before after an update.

My 700+MB genealogy web site takes half the time to update with my new Mini compared to my 2012 Mini.

Is this another issue of M2/M2 Pro Mac Mini?
The Apple support person I talked to about it was as puzzled as I was, so I don't know if it was a fluke or a new unreported issue. Until others report the same, I'll assume it was a random issue in my case.

The issue I have with the ethernet is that sometimes it took 3-5 times longer to transfer the same files.

These days most people working at Apple Support have no idea what they are doing.

I am also seeing slower connection speeds recently when initially they had been very good. I haven't tracked it down with a Wireshark trace but I am strongly suspicious that in my case, the Wi-Fi connection is being prioritized for the connections over the higher priority 10Gbe connection that is on the same network subnet.

With WiFi off, speeds are a little faster when serving with iperf3...but still the overall experience is not good. A typical 10gb video file transfer will start out strong, but after the first GB or so, it is abysmally slow.

I'm seeing speed improvements after updating to 13.4. Now seeing read speeds of about 1GB/s and write speeds of over 500MB/s.

I copied a 1.86GB zip file from my local SSD to my Synology NAS over the 10Gb connection and it took about three seconds.

Still a snail compared to the blazing fast local SSD speed but way faster than gigabit ethernet.

What method did you use to transfer the files? I found there to be a significant difference in the way i copied files. When I dragged it from one folder to another over the network, it told me it would take 2 hours. I switched to AirDrop and it took about 15 seconds. This was from my Mac Mini M2 Pro to my 2021 M1 Pro MacBook Pro.

Are you running any anti-virus or other network monitoring software? I had an issue where I was getting only ~2 Gbs transfers to a 10 GbE NAS. Took a long time to isolate but turned out it was caused by the anti-virus software I was using. They had to rewrite the code but after 6 or so months after diagnosis I got a fix. Tried another anti-virus suite and saw the same problem. Decided not to pursue since the problem was fixed in the other software.

Confirming the problem is still present in Ventura 13.4. It appears turning off AVB/EAV Mode did not resolve the issue for me. I see the 'packet loss' issue on my Aruba Switch Log as port drops. The NIC dropping and re-syncing with the switch is more likely the issue than simply packet loss. M2 Mini is on Port 27. Gigabit connected. See attached. The Network port is flapping multiple times per minute. In the last 24 hours of the 1003 Info Logs, 99% of that was the M2 Mini port flapping. NIC Settings Attached with AVB/EAV mode off. I'm likely going to switch to an ethernet dongle to get this to stabilize. And contact Apple. Super annoying.

One huge thing I just remembered is that it wasn't Hardware related , Little Snitch was the culprit for me . so if u have Radio silence or any anti Viruses ( just use malwarebytes app would be my tip ) . try to properly and fully uninstall fully little snitch ( which is very complicated on apple silicon compared to before ) , or do a Fresh install , and like magic your M2 pro Mac mini will not have this issue anymore .

The Network Switch Flapping Issue was resolved by turning off "Prevent automatic sleeping when display is off."

I was mistaken in that the packet loss issue wasn't related to the with the switch port flapping. Back to checking throughput on 13.4.

But does turning that setting off mean the computer is going to actually sleep along with its display off set-time? If so that will create even more issues.

Actually this setting is confusing. By turning it on, it prevents it from sleeping when the screen/display is off. I agree it probably should be named something like "Turn this toggle off to keep it from sleeping" but alas, it's not how it's worded.
