I have access to the store, but can't update any apps. It's stuck at verifying my password for my account.

I doubt this is linked to Lion. Apple doesn't need to take down the app store to add an application to it, why would Lion be different?

Not working here in Columbus, OH.

Was messing with trying to update Pandora on my dad's 3GS, and was getting frustrated because it'd just sit on Waiting, and wouldn't show the "Purchased" option at the top of the Update section.

Here's a question - will Apple tell people a date for Lion before they release it? I know they release hardware and software unannounced all the time, but have they ever done that for a new Operating System release?

Granted, in the past they've announced a date specifically so people could show up and pick up a hard copy. Do you think it will be different with digital distribution?

Any guesses?

I think there are a lot of firsts this go around - we won't know until they either release it or announce the date. They don't have to announce it anymore. You used to be able to pre order it so it would ship and arrive the day it was released (and sometimes a day before). Now anyone can get it the day of. Plus, it might be easier on their servers if they don't announce. That way people can download it as they find out throughout the day and not all be ready to go at x:xx pacific.

My guess is no pre announcement.

Germany seems to be not affected

Download of iPhoto from the Appstore just works fine at the moment!

thank goodness. i've been waiting for an update on a blog somewhere letting me know that i'm not the only one w/ itunes store problems. i can't update apps on my iphone. same description as the others have mentioned.

Berlin, Germany:

Software Update working.
iTunes Store working.
iPhone Apps Updates working.
Mac App Store: no connection possible.

I don't know enough about this - could they be linking their stores to the new data center? It was on before but not connected? Now they're connecting it? I think they're getting ready for a lot of people to download a 4-5 GB OS and they don't want to be creamed.

Joke (but not funny...)
What's worse then using slow internet trying to download 4-5GBs?

slow internet trying to download 4-5GBs and a bottlenecked server! Yikes!!!

My guess is that it will replace iCloud on the homepage with an OS X Lion etc pic "Now Available Only at The Mac App Store". This will cause all the people who think they have a 4G iPhone to go down to an Apple Store only to find out there are no retail boxes.

I doubt we will see a pre announcement. Just a come n get it on the Apple homepage. And of course front and center in the Mac App Store.

Logic X!

Down for me

Its currently down for me late last night around 1AM it went down and came back up and on the right hand side it stated iWork 11 and Mac OS Lion, when I clicked on them it took me nowhere, and then when I restarted the store they were gone. They were just placeholders and Apple was prob working on something behind the scenes but it got me excited for a few minutes. I can't wait for Lion

EDIT: Its back up and working, must have been a hiccup or they were doing something quickly behind the scenes again

But my 4G iPhone told me to get it at the Mac App Store - Here I Am!
