Why would the App Store need to go down to release Lion?

I doubt it would. is probably just doing some other updates. The Mac App Store is working for me, the App Store is not and the iTunes Store is working for me.

That happened to me the other day when I was trying to redownload some games on steam, it was driving me insane withe power and internet going out, finally I gave up and tried it the next day

I wonder if the imminent release of Lion and these updates to their servers (whether related or not) and this and other forums reporting server down issues causes any havoc on the tech's who are trying to update them.

What, with the added influx of users who are testing to see if their connection is working and looking for Lion as well as the other users who may be oblivious to this and are trying to connect for other reasons.

It's down here in CT, for me at least. I tried downloading not from the App Store, but the regular iTunes free TV episodes. I am grateful for them, by the way

i dont have the mac app store but my itunes isnt working on my ipad or mac. Im trying to buy an album and it keeps disconnecting. its loading really slow in general as well.

If I wait long enough I can sometimes access Featuded, but get an error elsewhere. also, search appears to be intermittent.
