Is there anyone with functional Duet under MacOS 10.3.4?
They (Duet support) claim that last version works fine, but in my experience nothing happens - it is just stuck "Launching"...

I was seriously thinking about upgrading to iPad Pro 12.9", so I can use it as a secondary monitor with duet, but with Apple breaking things like that looks like it's not going to happen... I hope they will fix the issue, for now I won't be upgrading to 10.13.4.

Perhaps it’s time for Duet to update their App info on the App Store to say that it’s broken in 10.13.4..as of now they’re still selling it to unsuspecting users.

This. I'm that "unsuspecting user". I just bought Duet Display today, can't get it to go beyond the "Launching Duet" screen, and then found this thread. Is this where we're at now, one needs to do a Google search of every app before buying because the App Store fails to mention minor details like...an app won't work with the latest OS? $^(&^*

Forget the finger-pointing of who broke what for a second: if the developers KNOW their app is completely unusable with the latest version of macOS, how do they justify selling it without so much as a warning to users? I see in another post a link to the process for requesting a refund. Well, yeah I'd like my money back seeing as the app...uh...doesn't work. At all.

*shakes head*

Count me in as well. I troubleshot for 90 minutes today trying to figure out why the program decided to start hanging on "Launching Duet". It seems like there's a temporary fix that uses AirPlay but it is not elegant at all, and resets constantly. Looking forward to this thing working properly again.

version 1.7.0.9 started working. Update your current Duet MacOS app to this version and it will work under 10.13.4 (tentative fix).

Apparently you can't upgrade through the "check for updates" function in the app in MacOS, still on 1.7.0.2.

Note: I'm on 10.12.6 .

Is it released?

You. Sorry for not hitting the "reply" button previously
if you did not update to 10.13.4 thus Duet should work as usual. I updated to 10.13.4 thus my Duet stopped working and I was provided a link to updated Duet version (1.7.0.8, did not work) which was updated today to 1.7.0.9 =working.

I downloaded the latest Duet from their site and it was 1.7.0.2, then I tried to update from within Duet and was able to download 1.7.0.8 which "works" but things are a little sketchy.

** Update **

When I connect my iPad it defaults to mirror mode, when I uncheck that it extends the display but leaves behind some of my desktop from when it was mirroring and the extended display is not centered on the iPad but a fixed area starting at the top and leaving desktop and blank space below.

Are you sure about 1.7.0.9? I can only upgrade to 1.7.0.8. No .9 to be found.

please take a look - attached a screenshot

Lucky you! I don't get it higher than .8 on my iMac. On another Macbook .2 stays the highest. No update presented :-( Strange.
Yep, I can't get higher than 1.7.0.8 here either. If someone could offer a link to download .9 I'd yelp like a lonely teenager being asked to prom...

I'd suggest to drop them a short letter requesting a link - I was provided with v.8 which was later updated to v.9

That worked - I emailed and they gave me a link to 1.7.0.9. It still uses AirPlay but is much more dependable than .8. The issue of the entirety of the screen not being used still exists as well, and according to customer support that is "hard coded by Apple" and the duet team is working on a workaround.

at least it is not stuck and allows some use of Duet...

Had contact with DuetDisplay as well today and I got 1.7.1.0 now for test. Doing well now. Thanks for the suggestion to seek contact. Their helpdesk is really quick and helpful. By the way, they are working on a real solution. Their feedback is
"We're currently working on a new version that will solve the incompatibility and will support the newest High Sierra update."
So a bit more patient and we are back in the game!

I had upgraded to 10.13.4 and had not used duet for some time, so it hung up for some time today before I expected something was wrong. Went to duet website and downloaded the Mac version (2016 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar). The webpage did not indicate the version (or that there had been issues) and the downloaded version is 1.7.1.2. The iPad app is version 1.6.0. It does work as a 2nd display with the Airplay Display set to Duet-iOS. However, the iPad does not display as well as I remember. In landscape position the iPad is black for about the lower 20% of the screen. I recall that previously the full iPad screen (I have the 9.7 inch version from 2016) was used for the display. A screen shot of the iPad display is shown below. The Touch Bar option is selected. Will future updates use the full iPad screen? Maybe a bit more patience?

Current official Duet versions are tentative until the permanent fix for 10.13.4 issued. They are working on the permanent fix and on the bug you mentioned. No deadline though. So wait....

I got in contact with Duet and they have a version that works with macOS 10.13.4. Apparently they added AirPlay and that solved the problem. No news about other screen extenders though...

I found that I had to tweak some of the resolution settings to get the full iPad screen to work. Even when I got it to go full screen, it saved just a little bit at the bottom of the screen for the touch bar, which I don’t mind.

So no public fix or update available yet then? I'm still holding off my 10.13.4 upgrade until this works.
