It was not design to be a main stream computer that was updated every year, it was a switch box that did its job and is no longer needed. Apple the corporation is sitting on Millions in the bank and does not need it.

Its over move on with your life!

I could not agree more take that money and go spend a romantic weekend away from the computer with your wife or girl friend :) enjoy!
 
What a bunch of elitists running this company. The only new hardware is a $2800 luggable (calling this monster a laptop is a joke).

I finally scream uncle.

I see a MSI Wind netbook and a Dell i7 in my future.

And I go to the Apple Store and still see "COMBO DRIVE" staring out at me.. sheesh!
 
With the rumor mill being quite active, I really expected a new update mini today. Guess we'll have to wait to see if it's going to be a quiet update in the near future.

I went shopping for a "Netbook" over the holidays and ended up with a real laptop on special instead. Don't do that to yourself.

And as far a dHell - don't get me started... :eek:

Patience - Apple will come through. New Minis for their own event!
 
Since there seems to be no new mini in sight I'm thinking about a refurb Air
$999 Macbook Air 80 gb hdd or
$1299 Macbook Air 64 gb ssd
Is this a good deal?

No - it has the new x4500 Intel graphics chip which smokes - plays 720p video without a hickup...

OS X still only supports GMA950 or x3100 on the Mini and white MacBook... :eek: (runs and hides...)

Billions.

I'm sure the Mac mini will be updated shortly. I think it made way more sense for Apple to do a Software tour de force for MWSF. When the new desktop machines are in quantity and ready to ship and pick up at the Apple Store same day then they will have an event to announce so. Apple could have easily waited three months to announce all MacBooks at MWSF but they didn't.
 
I enjoy my mac mini as is, it's great for small office areas so couldn't carelss if Apple doesn't update it

Let's keep an optimistic (and deluded?) view of things. That can only mean one thing ! Apple is waiting for lower power Nehalem chips to put in the Mini ! Yeah ! Here is to another year of crappy Mac Minis !

I was eyeing up that MB Air myself. Could take my current white MB and connect it to the monitor in the study where my new mini was suppose to go.

Seriously, is this for real? Now I'm frustrated.

There were a number of signs that indicated new Mac minis and iMacs as well as hints of specifications, either you have to accept that the rumour mongers are mostly speculating or just ignore them.

Rumor has it they are sitting this year out on the nehalems too and going for the g6 on the mini, somehow that pattented water cooling tec they are toying with has managed to tame the heat beast, it will come in an aquarium with assorted tropical fish. :D:D:apple::D .

Mini g6 2010, aka the fishtank.
 
They will probably just stealth update in a week or two, like they did with the Mac Pro just before MW last year.
