Re: GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
I am assuming that you knew of the OSX limitations when you jumped on board. If you don't think that it is ready, use OS9. Everytime I work under 9 for any amount of time I start to miss X and can't wait to reboot under it. You have the choice. You don't need to be frustrated, use 9, it's a complete OS. Many people, like myself, just enjoy the future of the mac platform but while the future is here today, it's not as mature as an OS with 18 years of development behind it.
Accept it for what it is and decide which you prefer. The beauty of having X is that you can use either. As for 10.1 upgrade, it was FREE! There has not been an upgrade charge for X yet.

C'mon. You can't even say that OS X is a viable platform yet. It's this stupid waiting game for one thing to be ready or another! I can't even sync up my Palm in OSX (okay, so I can use the public beta if I want, but I can't sync with Entourage yet!). So what am I supposed to do? Just keep waiting for everyone to catch up, or switch back to OS 9? I'm awfully tempted. After Effects doesn't have many plugins carbonized, Photoshop isn't shipping (yeah yeah they're "finished"—I'll believe it when I have it in my hands), Quark's ages away from even caring, Quicktime needs some serious adjustments and additions, font handling in X is HORRIBLE, iPhoto stores THREE versions of my picture (an original, one in the library, a thumbnail) AND a file to link them. Pretty inefficient. You think I have nothing better to do with the 20 gigs on my cube?
Grrrrrrrrrr.......
Am I wrong in feeling this frustration?
