It seems a good update, although I forgot to re-boot the second time.

UT2004 was quite a bit smoother, even while running folding@home.

Everything seems to be running well on my PowerBook as well. Apple has definitely done something to the security probelms they have had with Safari before.

The system seems stable, and usable. Great job Apple!

Installed fine ... Address Book still refuses to show all cards when trying to sort by last name when a person's last name starts with Aa and you use norwegian as your OS language

Works just fine on my girlfriends machine, she's still using 10.3.3 Norwegian version, and when we change my last name to starting with Aa the Address Book still shows all entries. Hey it even understood that Aa=Å and placed the entry at the bottom... ;)

PS! On my machine I've got English OS X language, and it places an entry starting with Aa at top, but still shows every card...

I reset safari, and went to some sites i never go to, plus my bookmarks.
it does appear to be a bit snappier.

xbench scores stay the same. bummer.

i am hoping the mention of improved firewire and usb audio device compatibility makes Native Instrument's Final Scratch 1.5 less bugg-ridden in Panther. They seem to have always protested that the problems are on Apple's end... we'll see i guess, for now i'll still run it in Jaguar via dual-boot.

how come, after the update, my safari's still at 1.2 (v123) even?
is there anywhere i can get a standalone update for it?

Safari not updated

It restarted, and a quick test of all applications listed as updated seem to indicate no issues. Safari is noticeably faster though, so maybe Dave and his team introduced the changes Dave mentioned in his blog.

Unfortunately it looks like many of the bug fixes will have to wait for a separate update or (gasp) 10.4 You can see that soft-hyphen, clear:all and friends are not fixed via the test pages.

Have you moved Safari out of the Application folder?

I did that once (made a "Web browser"-folder within the Application folder) and the updater didn't find any application in that folder - when I moved them back into the Application folder both Safari and - yuck - IE was updated when I ran Software Update...

nope. it's right in my applications folder.
maybe this has something to do with it:
a couple weeks back, safari was acting funny and not letting me into certain pages. that was v1.2.1. in order to fix it i had to wipe it and reinstall from apple. when i did this, the latest version i could find was v1.2.
maybe since i don't have 1.2.1, it's not updating me to 1.2.2?
what can i do about this?

Grrr...10.3.4 reset my Energy Saver settings - I had to tell my Mac not to go to sleep again. Otherwise, I'm happy with it (so far).

Downloading...

Hope this fixes the bug where Finder chrashes when I trie to drag and drop more than a couple files from the Desktop to ...anywhere really, even other place at the Desktop...

Wow... I thought I was the only one this was happening to. Sorry it's also happening to you... but, I am glad it's not just on my own set-up.

Like you said.... hope the update fixes this, we shall see. I wonder if Apple is even aware of this problem.

Anyhow.... good luck, take care. Mark ~
