Ok.. should I update or not? I guess I will wait one day before updating. I love updates and I am always the first but this time.. let me wait a day!

Lurking nearby.
I know it doesn't say anything about an iSync update but it does mention better Bluetooth support for mobile phones, my question being has anyone with a Nokia 7610 discovered that they can now iSync? I shouldn't install this update until it's qualified by Digidesign but I'm going crazy waiting for iSync support for syncML synchronization.
Unfortunately the Apple support discussions forums have been down for hours so I can't tell from there. :(

Updated, seems to be working fine.

Does Apple always issue that warning about FW HDD's being connected during updates? Either way, all is well.

Were rumors of better framerates in games true? Any UT 2004 results?

I'm giving this one a couple days... I never did install 10.3.6.

All I can say is, Apple better release Tiger soon. They're running out of mathematical room for fractional updates for 10.3!

Why? If there are any critical issues or patches other then security Apple can release 10.3.7.1 .2 .3 etc. With another major update in early 1st quarter.

Is it me or are my apps opening faster? Don't notice any speed increase in Safari.

No, same here... the apps open way faster than after the previous updates..
But maybe its because the installer cleared the cache and optimised the HD  Any thoughts?

The funny thing is also, that firefox is working much faster than before the update

FireWire Drive mounts MUCH quicker

After the update my Que! 100MByte drive mounts MUCH quicker. In 10 seconds instead of 30 seconds, a minute or NEVER. Often had to start and stop the drive a couple of times or reboot my mac to get it to show up.

Also, I always had trouble with DV video captures sitting on the hard drive. I could open in QT MoviePlayer and scrub the video no problem. But if I hit play .... bye bye. WOuld hang up. Now plays fine!

Me likee.

I am definately getting better frame rates in World of Warcraft. It is now at a more expected level. Before the frame rates were horrible.

does this fix the battery life issue on some laptops? i'm down to 1.5 hours on a full charge after upgrading to 10.3.6. If this doesn't fix it i may try to revert to 10.3.5.

I've been avoiding the ordeal of downgrading on the hope that 10.3.lucky7 fixes my battery problem. I'll let you know tomorrow as I'm on a slow download AND I just got back from the pub.

Cheers,

Nick

Does this fix bluetooth problem on new G5 iMacs?

Anyone here know if this fixes the internal bluetooth problem on new G5 iMacs. Often the bluetooth module is not activated. Must usually do a restart or 2 to get the bluetooth module activated. Also I hope it fixes the printing problem (to HP Color Laser 3500) where after several printed pages the Mac loses connection to printer and only way to reestablish connection is a restart. The printing problem first began after update to 10.3.6.

Great update!

I'm running this updated version on an iMac G5 20'' 1.8GHz w/ 1.25GB of RAM, and everything definitely seems snapppier! And you know what was the first thing I tried to do? To check on the iTunes visualizer, because I still haven't installed any FPS games since I had to reinstall Panther. And... WOW! It doesn't drop frames anymore! It's finally usable, IMHO.

Besides, the updated Preview app is much better now!

If this simple update is that good, I'm starting to dream how Tiger will be :D

I was averaging around 18 fps with a dp 1.8 w/ 1.5gb ram, gforce 5200 64mb. I now get around 35 in the same areas. Definately a sweet boost.

Asault on my Battery

It's gone mad. The recharge till full time is now 1:10 after being "fully charged" under 10.3.666. But it's nearly one o'clock in the morning and I've been in the pub all night at a leaving swill so I'm in no condition as to say whether it's really all OK again. Maybe tomorrow morning.

Tot straks.
