I am getting a Retail Radeon 9800(Mac Edition) for my Sawtooth and I was wondering if should wait to apply this update? I heard that the software update now checks your hardware configuration and gives you only what you can use.(I have a Rage Pro right now)
I'm pretty sure all the graphics drivers get installed regardless of what is installed, but it shouldn't matter in your case anyway, since I believe ATI has a downloadable driver package specifically designed for their retail cards.

Only having a builtin, I'm not positive about that, but I seem to remember it noting that the control panel it installs gives access to features on both OEM and retail cards, but the drivers used will differ depending on whether it's an Apple OEM or ATI retail.

Doesn't hurt to install it before the card, in any case, since there are a few nice features it adds and it doesn't hurt anything.

Updated both my 17" 1.33ghz and the wifes 12" 1.33ghz everything is good to go. So gald the DNS issue is solved!

Powerbook 1.33Ghz:

App launches are much faster - never more than 3 bounces for Safari, iTunes, Mail etc. Window dragging and resizing are way faster - very impressed.

Only problem so far has been Preview not displaying text in PDFs exported from Illustrator - any one else experienced this?

D'oh, upgrading to 10.3.7 erased all of the illegally d/l programs I had. No more Photoshop CS, Dreamweaver MX, or Final Cut Pro! Beware evildoers!

I've had this problem before X.3.7, funny thing is it seems to be there but it just don't display. I have emailed the pdf's to myself opened up the received attachment and there is the text.

I agree, app launches are faster and the re-sizing of windows is much faster! I couldn't stand how slow it was before and juddery.
No problems here, just an impression that everything is just that little bit quicker.

That seems rather strange.

I can't imagine how the update would know whether your apple apps are legal or not let alone 3rd party stuff.

667MHz TiBook updated fine...

Just adding my voice to those who've experienced no problems. I updated my 667 MHz TiBook and 1.8GHz G5 without any problems. Going home now to update my 1.8GHz iMac.

Looks like a good update.

Cheers

Has anyone who installed Patchburn tried this update out yet?

My iBook G4 12" with Superdrive :D would like to know if its safe.

Airport Card Failure

I installed the update about an hour ago on my eMac and the card loses all signal and I can't connect. The network doesn't even show up under the list.

Any recommendations? Should I buy the warranty it is about a year old

eMac 1ghz Mac Classic running 7.5
and about 10 PC A.K.A. Pieces of Crap :)

Just a general observation here, but I have AOL and every time I close it, the "unexpectedly quit..." dialog box comes up. Anyone have any thoughts as to whether this is an OS X bug or (much more likely IMHO) an AOL bug?

(EDIT): Well, I'll be darned. It seems to have corrected the issue that cbssportsline.com was having with Safari. Thanks, Apple!

Try disconnecting and reconnecting a couple times.

So glad the DNS issue is solved!

me too. I was getting particularly frustrated with Safari the other day. About 70% of the pages I tried to load needed a second try! Damn that DNS bug!

Gonna go home and update my 12" 1.33 and iMac G3 now. . .

i have a ATI 9200 PCI in my B&W and it isnt accelerating Quartz anymore. It was working fine before the update and all my settings are still the same. Expose looks so bad now does anyone know how i can get Quartz to work on it again.

Could it have something to do with running 7.5 "Classic" on your eMac?
(or maybe the eMac and Mac Classic are two different computers but joined on one line without any commas or other clues that they may be different machines) :)

Holy speed bump, Batman...that update put new life into my iBook.

The four- to five-bounce Safari went to one, and most every app opens much more quickly now.

Hopefully the battery issue of .6 is gone, however.

Rapairing permissions, sudo maintenance and prebinding the iMac G5 now.

Holy happiness Batman! Check out the slew of positive posts! I don't think I've seen a minor update get this kind of praise in a long time! :D Shame I've got dial-up and am only halfway done...
