STICKIES UPDATE! YESSSS! I can barely contain myself. I hear this one is the stickies minor bug fix we've all been waiting for. No need for Tiger now!

Piss off man! Stickies is my friggin' life line!

may have been noticed already. . .

I noticed a new tool inside my Utilities Folder; NetInfo Manager. Any idea what this is useful for?

Or has it always been there, and I'm just blind? :)

I'm pretty sure it's been there since the beta.

It's useful for things like moving user directories to other drives and other low-level poking at the system.

No plug in for my Mac. So, I know there is no 3rd party plug-in which is getting in the way for the 10.3.9 and Safari 1.3. I downloaded good old 1.2 from Apple web site and I was able to use Safari with my Ti. Again, I did combo update to 10.3.9, security update 2005-002, disk permissions, and re-boot (all by the book, according to the previous post). This did not work either. Now I need to download Safari 1.2 again to get back on the trusty 1.2.

I was hoping that after your post above, that you would have success. My wife's 15" PowerBook has had Safari crashes since the update. She is doing the combo update currently. Certainly hoping that it will be successful.

I know that Rower_CPU is correct. That those with problems generally post more. Just to be safe, going to wait on updating the older G3 iBook and & Power Mac G4.

The latter :) It's a tool for editing the netinfo database. You an add/delete/modify users, groups, aliases, etc.

Update Works Perfect

I Think you people having problems have done some screwy things with your Macs. I have had OSX since Jaguar and never had any problems except with my G5 fans on last update. This update has fixed the fan problem and works perfectly with Safari, Java, Etc. So don't blame your problems on Apple or this update.

hrmph. I don't know why I didn't see it before. I just made myself look like a total n00b. :p And for my second act. .

What are pre-bindings, and why do they need updating?

. . . upgraded to 10.3.9 with no issues. Now I'm debating whether to get Tiger right away or wait until 10.4.1, but that's a different topic.

Yes me too, I can hardley make it through a day without using the stickies ;)

I mean this feature alone is worth the download. How did we ever make it this far along with a stickies program that had "bugs"

:D

can't load Limewire since upgrade

Has anyone found this? Since upgrading to 10.3.9 Limewire won't open. I tried re-installing it but it still doesn't work....

It looks like this 10.3.9 is a mixed bag; it works for some and it does not for the rest.... My Safari in Ti is un-usable because of the update and I can only "upgrade" to 1.2 (which i did and I can use Safari now).

Like a bunch of other people around here, I had the same problem. I un-installed AcidSearch, as suggested, and bingo! Safari 1.3 now works just fine.

Just upgraded/updated to 10.3.9, and like my last two updates, I have noticed no difference. My brand new powerbook has been amazingly perfect. Im sure there are bugs needed to be fixed, but for me, I almost didnt cause I couldnt come up with reason too. Now that I am witness to the incredible beauty that is Panther (and soon Tiger), I only have one question: What is up with Winblows Ex-Girlfriend Pee?

I wonder how many of us will actually really even use this update. Nothing is really horrible for me in 10.3.8 that I am desperate to fix before I go to Tiger in 2 weeks. So the only people who really are going to use this are those who don't upgrade to Tiger any time soon. How many people are in that small boat I wonder?

Just wanted to give my 2 cents about 10.3.9

Safari is wicked faster compared to what it was and that makes me happy!!!

everything else works.... just waiting on my Tiger to get here ;)

Wasn't going to bother, having ordered Tiger earlier this week. Since it will take two weeks, though...

Runs fine and Mail is noticeably quicker on my 1.33ghz pb 17".

Still cant cut and paste in the Fiinder ..... it has always baffled me why there is an option to cut (command-x) but it is always greyed out.

Trying to cut and paste a file/folder? That doesn't work on a mac and will probably never be implemented. Yes, i don't see the point of always having to use drag and drop.

can't you just use the australian settings? it basically the same...... :D :D :D

Grr

Seriously, while the Aussie settings may be correct for them, they're still wrong for NZ.

Try to COPY, then Paste - works great for Files & Folders. CUT and Paste CAN'T work, since you would be trying to CUT it before Pasting.

However, the CUT command does work when you a doing things such as renaming files or folders.

It is all quite logical.

Flawless upgrade to 10.3.9, no issues whatsoever.

My Powerbook is now Perfect! The only issue I had was the slow vertical tracking on the new trackpads and it's fixed. The trackpad works a dream!

Objective C features run-time binding to dynamic libraries, but this slows down program loading. Pre-binding goes through all the OS executables and binds them to the dynamic libraries they need, thus improving the application launch performance. Whenever the apps or libraries change, the process has to be repeated. When you install something and you see the "optimizing system" message, that's pre-binding being done.

Is it just me

My Dock is much smoother on my 12", 1.33 PowerBooks. Safari is very fast and didn't even lose my bookmarks. I did not use auto update. Repaired permission before and after the install and all is well on two of my 12" 1.33, PowerBooks. :)

I don't mind starting this debate again. Mathematically, 10.3.10 is the equivalent of 10.3.1. But then the second decimal point is mathematically incorrect, so anything's possible ...

we're not doing our taxes where decimal places count. this is all visual.10.3.10 will show up in software update and in text. .10 is perfectly fine.
